Description Lightweight folding motorcycle mirrors — RM03-Lite

Pair of folding rearview mirrors LOBOO RM03-Lite, right and left. This is the lightweight version of the RM03: approximately 395 g per mirror, over one hundred grams less than the other models in the range.

Where the weight savings come from

The arm is still made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy, while the housing that holds the lens is injection-molded PC+ABS with a textured surface, instead of aluminum. The lens is not compromised: 157.9 × 101.6 mm, practically the same size as the RM03's.

Hardware is not included

The package contains only the pair of mirrors. To install them, you need the adapter kit corresponding to your mounting point, which is sold separately.

Before installing them

What matters is not the motorcycle model but the original mirror's screw: diameter, pitch, and thread direction. Several motorcycles use a reverse thread on the left side. Try turning it by hand for at least five turns; if you feel resistance, stop. Do not fully tighten it right away: make all adjustments first, then tighten it definitively.

Dimensions

148.2 mm arm, 227.9 mm total height, 69.5 mm depth, 27 mm mounting stem. Black.

Lens note: it is spherical, so objects appear smaller and seem farther away than they really are. Do not adjust the mirror while riding, and periodically check that it remains tight.

How does it work, in detail?

One hundred grams less per mirror

One hundred grams less per mirror

About 395 g compared with the 500 g of the other models in the range. The weight savings come from the lens housing, made of injection-molded PC+ABS with a textured surface instead of aluminum.

On a handlebar already loaded with mounts, a navigation device, and handguards, two hundred fewer grams at the ends are noticeable in the steering response.

The arm remains aluminum

The arm remains aluminum

Making it lighter doesn't mean giving up metal where it's needed: the arm, which is the load-bearing part, remains made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy.

How much do you earn compared to the original?

How much do you earn compared to the original?

The manufacturer compares the field of view of the standard mirror with that of the RM03-Lite: its 157.9 × 101.6 mm shaped lens covers more of the area behind you.

Spherical lens: more field of view, but watch the distances

Spherical lens: more field of view, but watch the distances

The curvature broadens the field of view compared with a flat mirror and reduces the blind spot behind you.

The manufacturer itself points out the downside: objects appear smaller, and therefore farther away than they really are. Keep this in mind when assessing safe distances.

Anti-reflective coating

Anti-reflective coating

The lens features an anti-reflective coating designed to reduce glare from the headlights of vehicles behind you at night and from low-angle light at dawn and dusk.

They fold in one motion

They fold in one motion

The joint allows the mirror to fold along the handlebar: useful in narrow passages, in the garage, on the van, and in the event of a fall, it is the part that gives way instead of breaking.

Drill-free installation

Drill-free installation

They replace the original mirrors using the existing mounting point: no drilling and no modifications to the motorcycle.

However, the hardware is not included: you need the adapter kit with the code corresponding to your mounting point, which must be purchased separately.

Before ordering, check the screw

Before ordering, check the screw

What matters is not the motorcycle model but the mount: the diameter, pitch, and thread direction of the original screw. Several motorcycles use a reverse thread on the left side.

Try screwing it in by hand for at least five turns: if you feel resistance, stop. If in doubt, send us the make, model, and year, and we’ll check before you place the order.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

How do I know if they fit my motorcycle?

The motorcycle model does not matter, but the original mirror screw does: its diameter, thread pitch, and thread direction. Several motorcycles use a reverse thread on the left side. Remove the original screw, compare it, and try to screw it in by hand for at least five turns: if you feel resistance, stop. If in doubt, send us the make, model, and year, and we’ll verify compatibility before you place the order.

Do I have to buy the adapter kit as well?

Yes. Without the adapter kit, the mirror cannot be mounted on any motorcycle: the mounting hardware is not included in the package. The kit costs €4.50 and is specific to your motorcycle’s mounting system, so you need to choose the correct one. Use the selector at the top of this page: choose the make and model, then add it to your order with one click. The only exception in the range is the version designed for BMW motorcycles with the LCW system, which comes complete.

How do I know which kit my motorcycle needs?

The selector at the top of the page covers 17 brands and around fifty models from the manufacturer's official list: select the brand and model, and it will show you the correct part number, price, and availability. Note two cases where the model alone isn't enough: for the CFMOTO 800MT, the kit varies depending on whether handguards are fitted, while for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R, it varies by year. If your motorcycle isn't listed, write to us with the brand, model, and year, and we'll check before you order.

What exactly is in the package?

The pair of mirrors, right and left, and the LOBOO installation manual in eight languages, including Italian, with the video’s QR code. Nothing else: the hardware for attaching them to the motorcycle must be added with the adapter kit, which you select from the selector at the top of the page.

What is the difference between RM03-Lite and RM03?

The dimensions are almost identical; the construction is different. The RM03-Lite has a CNC-machined aluminum-alloy arm, but the lens housing is made of injection-molded PC+ABS, and it weighs approximately 395 g per mirror; the RM03 is entirely aluminum and weighs around 500 g. The lens remains practically the same size. The RM03 is also listed as available in a silver finish.

How much do they weigh, and how big are they?

Approximately 395 g per mirror, over one hundred grams lighter than the other models in the range. Lens: 157.9 × 101.6 mm; arm: 148.2 mm; total height: 227.9 mm; depth: 69.5 mm; 27 mm mounting stem.

Do they really fold up, and what happens if I fall?

Yes: the joint allows you to fold the mirror along the handlebar and return it to its original position. In the event of a fall, the joint gives way instead of the stem bending or breaking. The manual recommends slightly offsetting the angle between the right and left mirrors so that they do not touch when folded.

Why do cars look farther away in the mirror?

Because the lens is spherical, as the manufacturer explicitly states: the curvature widens the field of view and reduces the blind spot, but makes objects appear smaller and therefore farther away than they really are. This is the trade-off with all convex mirrors: for the first few kilometers, it is worth getting used to it and allowing a little extra margin when judging distances.

Are they approved for road use?

LOBOO does not publish a homologation number for these mirrors, and we do not claim what the manufacturer does not claim. Rearview mirrors are a safety device subject to the regulations of the Highway Code: if the motorcycle is intended for road use, check the requirements before installation. After installation, always check the field of vision and tightening.

Is the product covered by a warranty?

Yes, dual coverage. You have the 24-month legal conformity warranty required by law, which applies to us; in addition, LOBOO provides 12 months from the date of sale for quality defects, and after that period, it will intervene by charging only for the materials. We handle the case with the manufacturer. Damage caused by falls, incorrect installation, or product modifications is not covered.
