The LOBOO CHB131 skid plate is an under-engine protection plate for the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward and the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024 onward. It shields the oil pan and lower part of the engine from gravel and impacts coming from below on dirt roads and ramps.

It is made from 4 mm high-strength aluminum alloy, formed as a single piece with reinforcing welds and finished with black hard anodizing. It weighs 1662 g.

How it is made

  • Vibration-damping rubber mounts at the attachment points: according to LOBOO, they reduce impacts and vibration noise.
  • Recessed bolt seats: the heads remain protected in the event of an impact.
  • Oil drain hole: the oil can be changed without removing the plate.
  • No modifications to the motorcycle: LOBOO developed it using the original R 1300 GS data.

Will it fit my motorcycle?

The LOBOO installation manual and specification sheet list the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward and the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024 onward. In its compatibility reference, LOBOO specifies that it installs together with the original BMW engine protection mount: if you are not sure about your motorcycle's equipment, contact us with the trim level and year before ordering.

What you receive and how to install it

The skid plate, one bracket, four spacers, four rubber mounts, four washers, four M6 × 30 bolts, and threadlocker. Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m only after all the parts have been positioned.

  3. Fissa il paracoppa nei quattro punti, ciascuno con bussola Ø 25 × Ø 6,2 × 11,6 mm, gommino, rondella Ø 25 × Ø 6,5 × 4,5 mm e vite M6 × 30.
  4. A regolazione finita serra le viti M6 × 30 a 8 N·m; le parti originali vanno serrate secondo le coppie BMW.

Assembly and Notes

  • Check the tightening after the first 100-200 km and periodically with off-road use.
  • After a major impact, check that the plate is not deformed and does not rest on engine parts.
  • The skid plate is not an approved safety device and does not replace cautious driving.
  • Check make, model, year, and accessories already installed before purchase.

You need it if with your R 1300 GS, you:

  • Ride on gravel roads and dirt tracks, where stones can fly up from below without warning
  • Tackle ramps and bumps where the undercarriage can hit the bottom of the engine
  • Go on long journeys and want to prevent a stone from damaging the oil pan

For extreme enduro, with repeated jumps and landings on rocks, more structured protections are needed: this skid plate is designed for adventure use and light off-road riding.
