Description 40+40 L Semi-Rigid Luggage Kit with Racks for BMW R 1300 GS Adventure - Wanderer

The LOBOO Wanderer Semi-Rigid Panniers mount only on dedicated LOBOO side frames, and for the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure the correct code is JP151B — not the JP131B for the standard GS. This kit includes everything: two 40 L panniers, two 20 L waterproof bags, and the JP151B frames. One order, verified compatibility, 120 liters in total.

GS or GS Adventure: why the frame is different

The larger fuel tank and different rear subframe make the two versions incompatible with each other. The JP151B frames are sized for the Adventure’s geometry: mounting them on a standard GS, or vice versa, is not possible. The manual lists them for the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024 onward. If you are not sure which version you have, contact us before ordering.

Installation

No drilling is required. However, the frame manual calls for the removal of some original components around the tail section, including the seat and luggage rack, with one part to be reinstalled once the work is complete: these are reversible operations, using the supplied hardware and tool. The package contains 17 components for the frames. LOBOO recommends not fully tightening the fasteners during assembly, but completing all adjustments first and only then tightening them in sequence to 18 N·m on all M8 bolts. All manuals are available in eight languages, including Italian, and can be downloaded from this page.

The same JP151B frames also accommodate LOBOO aluminum panniers, PIKE TRACKER and CONQUEROR, as indicated in the manual: if you want to change your luggage type in the future, you will not need to redo the installation.

How does it work, in detail?

The R 1300 GS and the R 1300 GS Adventure look like the same bike, but they aren’t: the fuel tank, rear subframe, and therefore the side frames are different. The correct code for the Adventure is JP151B, not JP131B, and this is the most common ordering error.

The choice has already been made in this kit: two 40 L cases, two 20 L waterproof bags, and the JP151B frames dedicated to the Adventure. One order, no mixing up codes, and no returns due to the wrong frame.

The stainless-steel side frames designed for the R 1300 GS Adventure are sized for this version’s larger fuel tank and rear subframe. The 120 L Touring kit is intended for those who set off with a full load and stay away for several days.

The LOBOO JP151B side racks are made of stainless steel and are designed around the geometry of the R 1300 GS Adventure, including its larger fuel tank. The 18 mm tubing is the size used by the Wanderer’s adjustable quick-release mount: the cases attach and detach by hand, without tools.

Stainless steel is the difference you notice after the second winter: salt, mud, and frequent washing leave far less of a mark than they do on painted steel. The same racks also accommodate LOBOO PIKE TRACKER and CONQUEROR aluminum cases, if you ever want to change your luggage type without reinstalling the racks.

Reinforced handles, internal organizer pockets, and waterproof bags included make the load manageable without having to empty the suitcase at every stop. MOLLE webbing on the exterior panels lets you attach pouches and accessories without drilling anything.

Each case has a barrel lock on the upper strap. The cylinder can be keyed alike to the same key as LOBOO aluminum cases: if you want them keyed alike, request this when placing your order and specify the key number.

The exterior panels feature MOLLE webbing, also compatible with attachments from other brands: pouches, bottle holders, and accessories can be mounted without drilling or modifying the cases.

Are the side frames included in the price?

Yes. The kit includes the LOBOO JP151B side frames, designed for the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure, along with two 40 L panniers and two 20 L waterproof bags. You don’t need to purchase anything else to mount the panniers.

How can I tell whether mine is a GS or a GS Adventure?

The Adventure has the larger fuel tank and a differently shaped rear subframe, and requires the JP151B frames—the ones in this kit. The standard GS, on the other hand, requires the JP131B: the two are not interchangeable.

If you're unsure, send us the license plate number or the year and version listed on the registration document. We'll confirm it before purchase so you can avoid a return.

Can I install them without the dedicated Loboo frames?

No. Installation on the R 1300 GS Adventure is only possible with the LOBOO JP151B stainless steel side frames specifically designed for this model, which are included. The original BMW frames and the JP131B frames for the standard R 1300 GS are not compatible.

What is the frame made of, and how many pieces does it consist of?

The frame arrives in two halves, a left and a right, joined by a rear crossmember. The parts list contains seventeen items and includes the two lateral reinforcement brackets, support plates, spacers, hardware, and washers.

Are the two 40 L suitcases identical?

They have the same capacity, but they are not the same item: according to the manual, they are two distinct codes, one for the left side and one for the right side, with mirrored mounting hardware. The kit already includes the correct pair.

If I already have the frames, can I buy just the cases?

Yes. The frame is specific to the motorcycle, but the cases are not: WANDERER cases attach to any frame with an 18 mm diameter tube. On Endurrad, you can also find the cases alone, without frames.

Can I mount the aluminum cases on the same frames?

Yes. The frames in this kit are the same ones used for the PIKE TRACKER aluminum cases on the R 1300 GS Adventure: if you want to change the type of case in the future, the frame stays in place.

What torque should the screws be tightened to?

The manual specifies a single value for the entire kit: 18 Nm, for all three screw lengths listed in the bill of materials (M8×20, M8×25, and M8×40). A torque wrench is required.

The manual requires completing all adjustments first with the screws only loosely fitted, and tightening them to the specified torque in sequence only at the end.

Do I need to buy hardware or tools separately?

No. All the hardware is included in the package, along with the service wrench specified in the bill of materials. The only tool not included is the torque wrench, which is required to comply with the specified 18 Nm torque.

Is the assembly manual in Italian?

Yes. The frame and luggage manuals are published in eight languages, including Italian, with the warnings translated and every step illustrated with photographs. The PDF can be downloaded from this page.

Can the 20 L bags be attached on top of the panniers?

Yes. The two waterproof bags are dual-purpose: use them inside to organize your luggage, or attach them on top of the panniers with the quick-release straps when you need extra capacity for a long leg.

What’s the difference compared with a hard-shell aluminum suitcase?

For the same volume, Wanderer cases weigh less, do not suffer permanent dents after a fall, and have no rigid edges. On the other hand, an aluminum suitcase provides a more rigid surface for securing heavy loads.

Is the product covered by a warranty?

Yes: all LOBOO products sold on Endurrad are covered by the 24-month statutory consumer warranty. In the event of a lack of conformity, we will handle the claim with the manufacturer.
