Description Barkbusters EGO-203 handguard plastics for EGO frames
The EGO-203 is the pair of protective plastic guards from Barkbusters' EGO series, the full-wrap handguard in production for over twenty years. It mounts onto the EGO frame already installed on the motorcycle and renews it after a fall, a season of branches, or simply to change the colour.
Important: fits EGO frames only
This is the most important detail on this page, and it is the opposite of all other replacement plastics. Barkbusters states that the EGO-203 is compatible exclusively with EGO frames. The VPS, JET and STORM plastics, on the other hand, fit all Barkbusters aluminium frames except the EGO. The two families are never interchangeable: if your frame is not an EGO, this is not the right plastic guard.
The EGO frame can be recognised by the aluminium bar that runs all the way around the hand, with the plastic guards integrated into it. The catalogue includes the EGO-201 and EGO-202 codes, as well as the EGO-204 mini version.

If you have had an EGO fitted for a few years: the manufacturer states that the new-design plastic guard fits the current EGO frame, so there is no need to replace the aluminium bar as well.
Compact profile and air vents
The EGO was designed for enduro, trail and mini bikes, particularly for narrow single-track. Its profile is compact and curved: the rounded shape helps it slide past branches and obstacles instead of catching on them. There are air vents at the top to increase airflow towards the hand, designed for summer comfort.
If you are looking for the opposite effect, meaning more protection from the elements, dedicated deflectors are available: they are catalogue code B-092 and are sold separately.
Impact protection
The EGO series has two mounting points, and Barkbusters states that its two-point products are designed for impact protection. The plastic guard is the part that absorbs the impact and protects the hand and levers; the structural protection is provided by the aluminium bar.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS
