All you need to know before ordering

Technical specifications, equipment, delivery, and warranty: find every detail, verified against official LOBOO documentation, below.

Description Top case plate with support frame for Yamaha Ténéré 700 from 2022 | stainless steel, no drilling

The LOBOO JP871W top case plate is the complete structure for attaching a top case to the Yamaha Ténéré 700 from 2022 onward. It includes the upper plate with the top case interface, the tubular support frame, and the connecting brackets, all using the original mounting points and requiring no drilling.

It is the missing part between the motorcycle and the top case: the Ténéré 700 does not leave the factory with a plate for mounting an aluminum top case, and this product provides one together with the structure that supports it.

Why choose it

  • Plate and structure in one product. You are not buying a drilled plate and then adding a support: the plate already comes with the tubular frame and brackets sized for the Ténéré's rear section.
  • Designed for the T7, not adapted. LOBOO developed the system from the geometry of the Ténéré 700, a motorcycle whose high exhaust and tapered rear section make universal luggage racks difficult to fit.
  • Stainless steel, not aluminum. The manufacturer's technical specifications distinguish between high-strength aluminum-alloy cases and stainless-steel luggage racks. For the component supporting the entire load, stainless steel provides rigidity and withstands corrosion from winter road salt.
  • Dedicated top case interface. The attachment is designed for LOBOO top cases: the top case mounts without intermediate plates or adapters.
  • Two top case capacities, two colors. It fits LOBOO top cases in 36 liters and 45 liters, each available in matte black or glossy silver. Choose the capacity today and change it later without touching the structure.
  • Useful even without a top case. With the top case removed, the plate remains a support surface for securing a soft bag or dry bag.

How it is installed

The manual describes eight steps. The first removes four original screws from the tail section; the remaining steps install the side brackets, front bracket, tubular frame, and finally the plate in sequence. No drilling or permanent modification is required: the mounting points already provided by Yamaha on the rear subframe are used.

The manufacturer does not publish tightening torques for this part number. Check the tightness before setting off and after the first few dozen kilometers, especially when riding with a loaded top case.

What is included

  • Drilled upper plate with top case interface
  • Tubular support frame
  • Front bracket and two side brackets
  • Mounting hardware and small parts

The top case is not included and must be purchased separately. The frames for the side cases are not included either; they are the side case frames for Ténéré 700, part number JP871B.

Compatibility

The manufacturer specifies the standard Yamaha Ténéré 700 for model years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026, and the manual for this part number lists the three top case series PIKE TRACKER, TIBET, and CONQUEROR. The compatible top cases currently listed are the P45T and P36T from the PIKE TRACKER series and the T36T from the TIBET series.

Compatibility with the Rally, Extreme, and World Raid versions is not declared by the manufacturer: if you have one of these, contact us before ordering.

Usage limitations

The manufacturer does not specify either the weight of the structure or a maximum permitted load. The limit to observe is the one stated by Yamaha in the owner's manual for the rear subframe, and it includes the weight of the structure, the top case, and its contents. On an off-road motorcycle, a high and rearward load affects handling more than the number might suggest: bear this in mind even when staying below the limit.

LOBOO provides a twelve-month commercial warranty. At Endurrad, the twenty-four-month statutory warranty of conformity applies, which is more extensive. If you have any doubts about compatibility with your motorcycle or which top case to pair with it, contact us and provide the year and trim level.

Why choose it
Who is it recommended for

What is it like, and what can be mounted on it?

The missing piece between the Ténéré and the top case

The missing piece between the Ténéré and the top case

The Ténéré 700 leaves the factory without a plate for attaching an aluminum top case. The JP871W is that part—and more: it includes the top-case plate and the support frames, sized for this motorcycle’s tail section.

The result is a single structure between the motorcycle and the top case, instead of the chain of adapters required when starting with a universal luggage rack.

Designed for the T7, not adapted from another model

Designed for the T7, not adapted from another model

The Ténéré 700 is a motorcycle that challenges generic luggage racks: a tapered tail, high exhaust, and narrow subframe. LOBOO developed the PIKE TRACKER system based on that geometry.

The practical result is that the load remains compact and close to the motorcycle’s axis, instead of spreading out and rising as happens with universal solutions.

Stainless steel, while the suitcases are made of aluminum

Stainless steel, while the suitcases are made of aluminum

The manufacturer states that the luggage rack is made of stainless steel, while the cases in the same series are made of aluminum alloy. This is not merely a catalog detail: the component supporting the entire load needs stiffness and fatigue resistance.

Stainless steel offers the advantage that really matters on a motorcycle ridden in winter: it is not affected by road salt or frequent washing.

On the original mounts, without drilling anything

On the original mounts, without drilling anything

Installation uses the mounting points already provided by Yamaha on the rear subframe. No drilling, no welding, no intermediate adapter.

The reverse is also true: if you sell the motorcycle one day or return it to its original configuration, remove the luggage rack and the Ténéré is left with no trace of it.

Thirty-six or forty-five liters, black or silver

Thirty-six or forty-five liters, black or silver

The plate interface accepts LOBOO top cases in 36- and 45-liter capacities, each available in black or silver. The 36-liter model is available in both the PIKE TRACKER series, designated P36T, and the TIBET series, designated T36T; the 45-liter model is the P45T.

The mounting system is the same for all of them, so your choice of capacity does not limit you: if you need more space in two years, replace the top case and leave the plate and frames where they are. The top case is not included on this page.

The top case detaches in just a few seconds

The top case detaches in just a few seconds

The manufacturer states that its top cases feature a secure quick-release system: stable while riding, immediate when you’re stopped. The function belongs to the top case and its interface.

The luggage rack, on the other hand, remains on the motorcycle: it is the fixed part of the setup. This division of roles allows you to set off with the top case and return home without it, or leave it at the hotel, without dismantling anything with tools.

Useful even without a top case

Useful even without a top case

With the top case removed, the luggage rack remains a platform for securing a soft rear bag or a dry bag.

This is how many people actually use it: a hard top case for long trips, a soft bag for weekends and everyday use, with the swap taking just a few minutes.

Five model years, one version of the roof rack

Five model years, one version of the roof rack

The manufacturer declares compatibility with the standard Ténéré 700 for 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026: five model years covered by the same code, with no subversions to distinguish when ordering.

The Rally, Extreme, and World Raid variants are excluded, as LOBOO does not publish confirmation for them. This does not mean they will not fit; it means compatibility is undocumented, and for a structural component, we prefer not to guess. If you have one of those, contact us before ordering.

JP871W, JP871B, or JP871BW: which one do you need?

JP871W, JP871B, or JP871BW: which one do you need?

Three codes from the same family, and it’s worth not mixing them up. The JP871W on this page is the rear luggage rack, for the top case. The JP871B is the side pannier carrier frame. The JP871BW is the set that includes both.

If you only want the rear top case, this is all you need. If you’re aiming for three cases, it’s better to look at the set. If in doubt, write to us and tell us how you want to load the motorcycle.

The bike, not the luggage rack, determines the load limit.

The bike, not the luggage rack, determines the load limit.

The manufacturer does not specify a maximum load for the JP871W, and we prefer to say so rather than estimate one. The reference to follow is the value Yamaha states in the manual for the rear subframe, and it includes the luggage rack, top case, and everything you put inside it.

A warning that no number can convey: on an off-road motorcycle, weight positioned high and toward the rear affects handling more than the limit might suggest. Staying below it is always advisable.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Is the top case included in the price?

No. This page concerns the top case plate and the frames that support it, meaning the structure that attaches to the motorcycle and onto which the top case is then mounted. The top case is sold separately: you can choose between the 36-liter and 45-liter versions, each available in black or silver.

Do you also need the side luggage racks?

No. The top case plate + JP871W racks mount directly onto the original mounting points of the rear subframe: the racks included are the ones that support the plate, not the side case racks. If you also want to mount side cases, you need the JP871B, a separate item, or the complete JP871BW set, which includes everything.

What is the difference between JP871W, JP871B, and JP871BW?

They are three separate products from the same family for the Ténéré 700. JP871W is the top-case plate and frames on this page, designed for the rear top case. JP871B is the side pannier rack, designed for the panniers on the sides. JP871BW is the set that includes both. If you’re unsure which one you need, tell us how you want to load the motorcycle and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Will it fit my Ténéré? I have the Rally version.

The manufacturer states compatibility with the standard version of the Ténéré 700 from 2022 to 2026. For the Rally, Extreme, and World Raid versions, LOBOO has not published confirmation: this does not mean it will not fit; it means compatibility is undocumented. Write to us with the year and trim level, and we will verify it before you place your order.

Do I need to drill or modify anything on the motorcycle?

No. The luggage rack is specifically designed for the Ténéré 700 and attaches to the mounting points Yamaha has already provided on the rear subframe. No drilling, no welding, no adapter. If you remove it one day, there is no trace left on the bike.

What material is it made of?

Stainless steel. It is a different choice from the luggage in the same series, which is made of aluminum alloy: on the structural component that bears the entire load, stainless steel provides greater rigidity and is not affected by corrosion from road salt or frequent washing.

Which top cases can be fitted?

Two volumes: the 36-liter and 45-liter LOBOO top cases, each available in black or silver. In the catalog, the 45 L is the P45T, while the 36 L is available both as the P36T in the PIKE TRACKER series and as the T36T in the TIBET series.

The plate interface is the same for all of them, so your choice of volume is not final: you can change the top case in the future without replacing the top-case plate or frames.

Can the top case be detached quickly?

Yes: the manufacturer states that the PIKE TRACKER system has a quick-release safety mechanism, allowing the cases to be mounted and removed in seconds while remaining secure during riding. The feature belongs to the top case and its interface, not the luggage rack, which stays on the motorcycle.

Can I use it without the top case, to tie a soft bag to it?

Yes, and it’s a sensible way to use it. Without the top case, the luggage rack remains a flat surface for placing and securing a soft rear bag or a dry bag. Many people keep the top case for long trips and use the soft bag for everyday use, switching between them in just a few minutes.

Does it interfere with the passenger or the saddle?

The luggage rack occupies the area above the rear subframe, behind the passenger seat, so the seat remains usable. With a top case installed, the passenger’s space is reduced and their back rests against the case: some cases in the range include a padded backrest specifically for this purpose. This should be checked on a case-by-case basis depending on the volume selected.

How much weight can I load onto it?

The manufacturer does not specify a maximum load for the luggage rack. The limit to observe is the one indicated by Yamaha in the owner’s manual for the rear subframe, and it includes the weight of the luggage rack itself, the top case, and its contents. A practical tip: on an off-road motorcycle, a high, rearward load affects handling more than the number suggests, so it is best to stay well below the limit.

Why not a universal luggage rack, which costs less?

Why choose a universal rack that gives you a perforated plate when the problem remains: attaching an aluminum top case still requires an interface plate, resulting in a stack of adapters that raises the load and introduces play? This rack is designed around the Ténéré 700’s geometry and already includes the P-series mounting point: one piece, no adapter.

What do I find in the package?

The perforated upper plate with the top case interface, tubular support frame, connecting bracket, and two tie rods, all made of stainless steel, plus the screws and small hardware required for installation. The top case, side pannier racks, and panniers are not included; they are all sold separately.
