Description Kickstand plate for KTM 1290 Super Adventure S from 2022 | CNC aluminum and 304 stainless steel, 110 g

The LOBOO CJC251 side stand plate widens the foot of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S from 2022 side stand and distributes the motorcycle's weight over a much larger area. The original foot does not need to be removed: it remains enclosed between the base and the upper bracket, secured by three M5×10 screws.

The stock foot transfers the entire load to just a few square centimeters. On compacted soil, gravel, wet grass, or sun-softened asphalt, it sinks, and the motorcycle slowly drops until it lies on its side. On a fully loaded 1290, the margin quickly becomes slimmer.

Construction

Two-material construction: a CNC-machined aluminum alloy support base and a 304 stainless steel bracket in the section that clamps onto the original foot. Stated weight: approximately 110 g. The edge is grooved along the sides and bottom to prevent lateral sliding on sloping surfaces.

What the manual states

  • Compatibility: KTM 1290 Super Adventure S from 2022
  • Package contents: base, bracket, 3 M5×10 screws, 3 mm hex key, and threadlocker
  • Tightening torque: 5 N·m, the same value for all three screws
  • Do not fully tighten immediately: adjust first, then tighten in sequence
  • Periodically check the fastening screws

Pay attention to the model code: this code is specified for the Super Adventure S. For the 1290 Super Adventure R, along with the 690 Enduro R, 790 and 890 Adventure, and Husqvarna Norden 901, use code CJC221.

The dimensions are not specified by the manufacturer, which also warns that measurements are taken by hand.

For other models, see all side stand plates.

Why choose it
Who is it recommended for

Documents and manufacturer

How does it work, in detail?

Pay attention to the code: S, not R

Pay attention to the code: S, not R

The manual specifies only one motorcycle: the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S from 2022 onward. The R version has a different kickstand mount and is not covered by this code.

For the 1290 Super Adventure R, you need the CJC221, which also covers the 690 Enduro R, 790 and 890 Adventure, and the Husqvarna Norden 901. There is only one letter of difference between the S and R: it is worth checking the registration document before ordering.

It’s not the motorcycle’s weight that makes it sink

It’s not the motorcycle’s weight that makes it sink

Sinking depends on ground pressure, not total weight—but on a loaded 1290, the two go hand in hand. The original foot concentrates the entire load on just a few square centimeters and sinks into packed dirt, gravel, or wet grass.

The plate distributes the same load over a much larger area. It does not eliminate the risk: assessing the surface you park on remains your responsibility.

The original foot stays where it is

The original foot stays where it is

LOBOO calls it a lossless installation, designed around the vehicle’s original data: the stock foot does not need to be removed and is enclosed between the base and the upper bracket, secured by three M5×10 screws.

No drilling, no welding. To return to the original setup, all you need are three screws — important if the motorcycle is still under warranty or you plan to resell it.

Aluminum underneath, 304 stainless steel where it clamps

Aluminum underneath, 304 stainless steel where it clamps

The support base is made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy, while the upper bracket is made of 304 stainless steel. This is the bracket that clamps onto the original stand and bears the load every time you park the motorcycle.

CNC machining is mainly used to ensure precise hole placement: if they are not aligned to the millimeter, the plate will sit crooked.

Tread grooves that bite into the ground

Tread grooves that bite into the ground

The edge is grooved along the sides and bottom. It is designed to prevent lateral sliding: on a sloped surface, a smooth plate can slip, and widening the contact area without providing grip would solve only half the problem.

Five newton-meters, and the Allen key is in the box.

Five newton-meters, and the Allen key is in the box.

The manual gives a single value for all three M5×10 screws: 5 N·m. The package includes the 3 mm Allen key and threadlocker, so nothing else is needed.

The manufacturer asks you not to fully tighten everything immediately: first adjust everything, then tighten in sequence, and check periodically.

What does it look like when stationary?

What does it look like when stationary?

The stainless-steel bracket remains visible above the original foot, while the black base widens the support toward the ground. It is a part that is barely noticeable from a distance and recognizable up close, without clashing with the motorcycle’s finish.

What the manufacturer states, and what it does not

What the manufacturer states, and what it does not

The LOBOO parameter sheet states: aluminum alloy base, 304 stainless steel bracket, CNC machining, weight of approximately 110 g, and compatibility with the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S from 2022 onward.

The dimensions are not specified, and the manufacturer warns that the measurements are taken by hand and may have tolerances. We prefer to state this rather than estimate.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

I have the 1290 Super Adventure R—is that okay?

No. This code has been listed exclusively for the S version since 2022. The 1290 Super Adventure R requires code CJC221, which also covers the 690 Enduro R, 790 Adventure, 890 Adventure, and Husqvarna Norden 901. The stand mount is different, and the two parts are not interchangeable.

Does the original kickstand foot need to be removed?

No. The stock kickstand stays in place, enclosed between the base and the stainless-steel bracket and secured with three M5×10 screws. No drilling or permanent modification to the motorcycle is required.

What tools are needed, and what’s included in the package?

The manual lists five items: base, bracket, three M5×10 screws, a 3 mm Allen key, and threadlocker. To comply with the specified torque, 5 N·m on all three, you need a torque wrench: it is a low value, and on M5 screws it is easily exceeded by hand.

Can I install it myself, or do I need a mechanic?

It is within the reach of anyone with basic DIY skills: three screws, no drilling, and no need to remove any motorcycle parts. The Allen key is included; you only need a torque wrench for the 5 N·m. The illustrated manual in eight languages is included.

Is it really useful if I mainly ride the motorcycle on the road?

The most common situation is not off-road terrain but hot summer asphalt: the softened bitumen gives way beneath the small surface area of the original foot, and the motorcycle slowly sinks. The same applies to gravel parking lots and stops on grass. If you always park on concrete, the benefit is smaller.

How much does it weigh, and how big is it?

The stated weight is approximately 110 g. The dimensions, however, are not specified, and the manufacturer warns that measurements are taken manually and may vary. If you need the exact dimensions, ask us and we will measure the item in stock.

Does it interfere with the center stand?

No: the plate only acts on the side stand and has no effect on the geometry or operation of any center stand. They are two independent systems.

Change the parked motorcycle's lean angle?

A little, yes. Adding thickness beneath the foot slightly raises the contact point, so the motorcycle remains a touch more upright. LOBOO states this for the entire range and considers it an advantage: on a loaded 1290, a few degrees less makes it easier to bring back upright.

Is maintenance required after assembly?

The manufacturer asks you to check the fastening screws periodically, in addition to checking them after the first few uses. This part bears the weight of the motorcycle every time you park it, and the threadlocker provided is intended specifically for this purpose.

I'm not sure it will fit my motorcycle—what should I do?

Contact us before ordering with the model, year, and version — S or R makes a difference. If you're unsure about your stand foot, send us a photo: we'll check it for you. It's faster than a return.

Is it an original LOBOO product, and how does shipping work?

Yes: genuine, brand-new LOBOO product in the manufacturer's packaging, purchased through the official distributor for Italy. Tracked shipping throughout Italy, free for orders over 100 euros; in Europe, free for orders over 250 euros.

What warranty does it have, and can I return it?

The product is covered by the 24-month statutory consumer guarantee of conformity. In the event of a defect, we will handle the claim with the manufacturer. You also have 14 days from receipt to exercise your right of withdrawal by returning the product intact and in its original packaging.
