Can I leave it parked all winter?

Yes: the manufacturer states a self-discharge rate of less than 1% per month. The manual advises storing it with at least 70% charge, in a dry, well-ventilated place, fully recharging it every 180 days, and disconnecting it from the system if the motorcycle remains stationary for a long time.

How much does it weigh compared to a lead-acid battery?

The CL6F-U weighs 1.14 kg: in the LOBOO comparison, a traditional lead-acid battery for the same application weighs 2.5 kg. The CL12F-U weighs 1.96 kg according to the manual; the manufacturer’s panel indicates 2.2 kg.

What protections does it include?

Protections: short circuit, overload, over-discharge, overcurrent, overtemperature, and cell balancing. If the battery is near the motor and heat triggers the thermal protection, the manual instructs you to disconnect one terminal, let it cool down, and reconnect it: the protection deactivates automatically.

How long does it last?

The manufacturer claims more than 2,000 charge and discharge cycles, approximately six times that of a high-performance lead-acid battery in its comparison. Actual lifespan depends on installation, usage, and charging conditions.

The current generation does not declare an IP rating: the manual states that it should not be exposed to rain or immersed. IP67 was declared for the previous generation, CL6E-U.

Is it covered by a warranty?

Yes. LOBOO provides free replacement within 5 years of purchase in the event of quality defects, provided that installation and use are correct. The statutory 24-month legal guarantee of conformity remains applicable in all cases.

45C and full protection: the LOBOO comparison

In the manufacturer’s comparison, the LOBOO battery has a 45C discharge rate, compared with 15C for a standard lithium battery and 5C for a lead-acid battery, and includes all the listed protections, including cell balancing.

LOBOO also claims more than 2,000 cycles, about half the weight, and one-third the volume of a lead-acid battery.

A battery designed for travelers

LOBOO presents it as a backup battery for motorcycles: the aim is to reduce the risk of being stranded with a battery that will not start the engine.

The CL6F-U delivers up to 300 A of peak starting current, while the CL12F-U delivers up to 600 A.

More cycles, fewer replacements

LOBOO states a service life six times longer than a high-performance lead-acid battery, which usually needs to be replaced every 1–2 years.

Which charger should I use?

A quality charger suitable for lithium batteries. The motorcycle rectifier or charger must limit the voltage to between 14.0 and 15.0 V, and the current must remain below the specified maximum. For the CL6F-U, the manual specifies 3 A for 2.5 hours or 6 A for 1.5 hours; for the CL12F-U, a charging power of 100 W, from 10 to 14 V in approximately 2.5 hours. After excessive discharge, LOBOO recommends the mini C20Pro charger or the C40T maintainer to reactivate it, with a current above 1 A.

Can it be used and recharged in cold temperatures?

LOBOO states that it has a heating function for charging at low temperatures and better cold-start performance than a lead-acid battery. The manual specifies a charging temperature range of 0 to 45 °C and an operating temperature range of −20 to 60 °C.
