The complete lighting setup for the BMW R 1250 GS: a pair of D4 lights, model-specific mounts, and a CANsmart controller for the vehicle, already matched together.

With CANsmart, you control the lights using the buttons already on your handlebars and adjust them from the Wonder Wheel, without adding switches or touching the original wiring.

Pay attention to the version: this kit is for the R 1250 GS. The mounts are different for the Adventure, which has its own dedicated kit.

Un allestimento luci su una GS mette insieme tre cose che devono corrispondere: i faretti, gli attacchi giusti per quel modello e la centralina giusta per quell'anno. Sbagliarne una significa rimandare indietro il pacco e ricominciare. Qui sono già abbinati.

Attenzione alla versione: questo kit è per la R 1250 GS. Per la Adventure gli attacchi sono diversi ed esiste il kit dedicato.

Who is it recommended for

A chi ha una R 1250 GS e vuole chiudere il discorso luci in un ordine solo, senza passare il pomeriggio a verificare quale supporto va sul suo telaio e quale centralina copre il suo anno. Il D4 è il gradino d'ingresso della serie D: 4.380 lumen per faretto e fascio ibrido, che riempie il vicino e la curva invece di puntare tutto lontano.

Se guidi molto di notte fuori dai centri abitati e vuoi portata vera, il kit con i D7 arriva a 459 metri, e il kit con i D7 PRO aggiunge doppio circuito e lenti intercambiabili.

Spotlights, bracket, and control unit already paired

Pair of D4 auxiliary lights, upper mount designed for the R 1250 GS, and a model-specific CANsmart controller. Three pieces already compatible with each other: you don't have to match brackets, wiring, and part numbers.

It's the entry point into the CANsmart world: the same integration with the electronics as the more expensive kits, with lights producing 4,380 lumens each.

The control unit plugs into the 4-pin RDC connector behind the passenger seat: no wires to cut. The auxiliary lights turn on by holding the turn-signal cancel button for three seconds and are adjusted with the Wonder Wheel from 0 to 100%.

Two of the four circuits remain free, allowing you to add a SoundBomb horn or a B6 brake light later.

Is it better than buying the pieces separately?

Yes, on the price, but above all on the risk. A lighting setup on a GS brings together three things that need to match: the auxiliary lights, the correct mounts for that model, and the right control unit for that year. Getting one of them wrong means sending the package back and starting over. They’re already matched in the kit.

What difference does having the CANsmart in the kit make?

You control the spotlights using the buttons already on your handlebar, without adding switches. On BMWs, adjustment is done via the Wonder Wheel, and the control unit connects to the diagnostic socket without altering the original wiring. That’s the difference between an accessory that’s installed and one that’s integrated.

Can I assemble it myself?

Yes, if you’re comfortable with basic mechanics: there’s no need to cut or splice wires; everything plugs into the original connectors. Allow yourself a relaxed afternoon the first time, especially to route the wiring neatly under the tank.

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
