Description LOBOO CHG08 Crash Bar for BMW R 1250 GS | 304 stainless steel, upper, lower, or complete set
The R 1250 GS weighs over 200 kg with the panniers loaded, and when it tips over on uneven ground or in a gravel parking area, the damage is not determined by speed: it is determined by the points that touch down first. The LOBOO CHG08 crash bar places steel between those points and the asphalt.
The bars are made of 304 stainless steel, with a Ø 25 mm tube and a 2 mm wall thickness. It is a difference that becomes apparent over time: on a painted tube, a chip caused by a stone can allow rust to take hold, whereas with stainless steel, the material is the same beneath and above the surface. LOBOO offers two finishes: sandblasted silver with a matte electrochemical finish, or matte black with a matte powder coating; in both cases, the steel itself is identical.
There are three configurations. The lower bar wraps around the cylinder heads and engine covers—the points that touch down first in a tip-over. The upper bar rises to protect the fairings and tank area. The complete set combines both and makes sense on a motorcycle used for touring and fully loaded.
Installation requires no modifications: the bars attach to the original frame mounting points, with no cutting or drilling, and the motorcycle can be returned to its stock configuration by removing them. The structure includes a mounting point for auxiliary lights, which LOBOO supplies separately together with the lights. The rubber bumpers shown in the product images are also sold separately.
The stated compatibility is BMW R 1250 GS from 2019 onward. The LOBOO catalog also states that on the R 1200 GS from 2017 onward, only the upper bar can be used. For the R 1250 GS Adventure and its larger tank area, there is a dedicated product instead: the CHG082.
