If you cover just a few hundred kilometers a year and don't carry a passenger, a waterproof soft bag does the same job at a fraction of the price.

Who is it recommended for

How to compose the system:

  • Top case only: 40 L C40T plus JPT131WA plate. This is the most economical combination to start with.
  • Side cases only: 45+45 L pair plus JP131B frame, mandatory.
  • Complete system: side case pair, top case, and one of the frame plus rack kits, which cost less than separate parts.
  • With passenger: choose the kit with the JST131WC sliding rack. This is the one that brings the center of gravity between the wheels.

Colors: Black and Silver for the cases, only Silver for frames and racks.

Documents and manufacturer

Use and notes

  • Respect the maximum load capacity of the frame and luggage rack indicated by BMW: the system does not increase it.
  • Distribute the weight by keeping the heaviest load low and close to the wheel axle.
  • The load must not cover the license plate and rear lights or protrude beyond the limits set by the Highway Code.
  • Recheck the frame's tightening after the first few kilometers and at each service.
  • The release in case of frontal impact is a design feature declared by the manufacturer, not an approved safety device.
  • The manufacturer's warranty is 12 months and does not replace the 24-month legal guarantee of conformity provided for the consumer.

I sistemi a due o tre agganci hanno gioco fin dall'inizio, e il gioco cresce con i chilometri: dopo qualche migliaio comincia il tintinnio sui rattoppi. Qui valigia e telaio si accoppiano su nove punti, coperti da brevetto per modello di utilità.

Lo sgancio è calibrato: in una caduta laterale la valigia resta in sede, mentre in un impatto frontale forte è progettata per staccarsi, così da non trasferire l'urto al telaietto. È una scelta progettuale dichiarata dal produttore, non un dispositivo omologato.

Le valigie laterali non si montano sul telaietto della moto: serve il telaio portaborse JP131B, in acciaio inox e specifico per la R 1300 GS. È lui che regge il carico e distribuisce lo sforzo sui punti di ancoraggio previsti da BMW.

Arriva completo di staffe e bulloneria. Se prendi anche il bauletto, guarda i kit: telaio più portapacchi insieme costano meno che comprati separatamente.

Lo scorrevole sposta il baricentro

Un bauletto pieno montato alto e arretrato allunga la leva sul telaietto. Alle andature autostradali l'avantreno si alleggerisce, e con il passeggero a bordo il retrotreno è già al limite prima ancora di caricare.

Il portapacchi scorrevole JST131WC serie PTC permette di avanzare o arretrare il bauletto rispetto all'asse ruota. Sposti pochi centimetri e il baricentro rientra dove serve: tra le ruote, non sopra la coda. È la differenza tra viaggiare in coppia e viaggiare bene in coppia.

Se ti serve solo il bauletto da 40 litri, la piastra JPT131WA è la strada più breve ed è la voce meno cara di tutta la scheda. Si monta sul portapacchi e basta: niente da smontare, niente strutture da sostituire.

È anche l'unico pezzo condiviso con la R 1300 GS Adventure, quindi se cambi moto restando in famiglia GS non lo ricompri.

Quarantacinque litri per lato, simmetrici

Sulla R 1300 GS le due valigie laterali sono uguali: 45 litri a sinistra e 45 a destra, novanta in totale. Non serve la versione asimmetrica che su altre GS rientra attorno al terminale di scarico.

Aggiungendo il bauletto da 40 litri arrivi a 130 litri: sono i bagagli di due persone per due settimane, senza legare niente sopra la sella.

Black o Silver, e non è solo estetica

L'alluminio anodizzato nero nasconde meglio i graffi superficiali e sta bene sulle GS scure. L'argento è il classico da spedizione, si riconosce da lontano e le abrasioni si notano meno perché il metallo sotto è dello stesso colore.

A listino l'argento costa meno del nero: circa 80 euro in meno sulla coppia di laterali e 45 sul bauletto. Se non hai una preferenza estetica, è la scelta più conveniente. I telai sono disponibili solo in Silver.

Quale telaio mi serve per le valigie laterali?

Il JP131B, il telaio portaborse laterale in acciaio inox specifico per la R 1300 GS. È obbligatorio: le valigie da 45 litri non si montano senza. Lo trovi nel selettore come pezzo singolo oppure dentro i kit, dove costa meno che comprandolo separatamente insieme al portapacchi.

Che differenza c'è tra piastra, portapacchi PRO e portapacchi scorrevole?

Sono tre modi diversi di montare il bauletto. La piastra JPT131WA è la soluzione più economica e si appoggia al portapacchi. Il JP131WB in versione PRO è una struttura completa che sostituisce il portapacchi originale ed è più rigida. Il JST131WC serie PTC è scorrevole: permette di avanzare o arretrare il bauletto rispetto all'asse ruota.

Se viaggi solo e carichi poco basta la piastra. Se porti il passeggero, lo scorrevole è quello che sposta davvero il baricentro dove serve.

Posso comprare solo il bauletto o solo le valigie?

Sì. Nel selettore ogni componente è acquistabile da solo: coppia di valigie laterali, bauletto, telaio, piastra, portapacchi. Molti partono dal bauletto con la piastra JPT131WA, che è la combinazione più economica per iniziare, e aggiungono le laterali con il telaio in un secondo momento.

Vanno sulla BMW R 1300 GS Adventure?

Le valigie e il bauletto sì, sono identici. I telai no: la Adventure usa il JP151B per le laterali e il JP151WPRO per il posteriore, perché il telaietto è diverso. L'unico pezzo condiviso è la piastra top case JPT131WA, che LOBOO dichiara per entrambi i modelli. Scrivici e ti indirizziamo sulla configurazione giusta.

Quanto carico ci sta in tutto?

130 litri: 45 per ciascuna valigia laterale e 40 nel bauletto. Sono i bagagli di due persone per due settimane senza legare niente sopra la sella. Rispetta comunque la portata massima del telaietto indicata da BMW: il sistema non la aumenta.

Sono impermeabili davvero?

Su una valigia in alluminio l'acqua entra dai giunti, non dalle pareti. LOBOO ricava il telaio di tenuta da un pezzo unico lavorato CNC, quindi con meno giunzioni, e sigilla con guarnizioni in gomma, rivetti di produzione tedesca e adesivo svizzero. Non è dichiarato un grado IP per il corpo valigia: la luce interna, quella sì, è IP66.

Ci sta il casco integrale nel bauletto da 40 L?

Sì, quaranta litri bastano per un integrale più il necessario della giornata. L'interno è rivestito in floccato proprio per questo: calotta e visiera appoggiano su un tessuto morbido invece che sull'alluminio nudo. Nel coperchio ci sono anche le tasche porta documenti e la luce a sensore che si accende all'apertura.

Le valigie si staccano in caso di caduta?

Dipende dal tipo di urto, ed è voluto. In una caduta laterale o in una scivolata la valigia resta agganciata. In un impatto frontale forte il sistema è progettato per lasciarla staccare, così da non scaricare tutta l'energia sul telaietto della moto. LOBOO lo dichiara come scelta progettuale: non è un dispositivo di sicurezza omologato.
