This is the plate that allows you to mount a top case on the rear of the C 400 GT from 2024 onward. The manual assigns the code to that model year only: the code is different for earlier C 400 GT models and for the C 400 X.

How to install it

Installation takes four steps. Remove six original bolts from the tail section, position the four spacers, install the intermediate bracket with the M6×25 bolts, and finally install the plate with the M6×16 bolts. Fully reversible, with no drilling required.

One detail the manual highlights with a dedicated illustration: the spacers are not symmetrical and must be oriented correctly. It is the kind of mistake you only notice when the plate does not sit properly.

The torque is 12 N·m for all M6 bolts, applied in sequence and only after completing the adjustments. The wrench is included, and the manual is available in eight languages, including Italian.

Which top cases fit

The manual lists the PIKE TRACKER, TIBET and CONQUEROR series for this plate. The top case is not included: this page covers the plate only, and LOBOO aluminum top cases fit only LOBOO plates and luggage racks.

If this is not the right one

For the C 400 X and for C 400 GT models from 2018 onward, you need the JPT091W2 plate, which has its own page. If you are unsure which one you need, send us a photo of the motorcycle’s rear area and we will confirm the code before purchase.

The rear load has a limit

LOBOO does not specify a maximum load for the plate itself: the limit stated by BMW in the owner’s manual applies, and includes the plate, top case and contents. Recheck the fasteners after the first 100–200 km and make sure the top case does not obscure the license plate or rear lights.

The plate material is not specified by any LOBOO source, including the manual.

What do you mount on it: compatible top cases

The plate is the interface between the motorcycle and the top case: on its own, it is of no use, but without it, no LOBOO top case can be attached. The 45-liter PIKE TRACKER P45T fits onto this plate, available in matte black or glossy silver.

The top case is purchased separately, leaving you free to choose later: install the plate today and decide on the capacity once you know how much luggage you really carry.

The weight above the tail is the one you feel the most.

A loaded top case sits much higher and farther back than the side cases. Every kilogram up there lightens the front end and amplifies the rear's movements: that's why a motorcycle loaded evenly on the sides remains neutral, while with ten kilograms in the top case it becomes nervous on the highway.

This isn't an argument against a top case, but for loading it properly: put light, bulky items inside, such as a spare helmet, rain gear, and a change of clothes. Keep the tools and actual weight low down in the side cases.

Always observe the maximum load BMW specifies for the rear subframe: it includes the mounting plate, top case, and contents.

Come si monta

  5. Non serrare a fondo subito: completa prima tutte le regolazioni, poi dai la coppia di 12 N.m in sequenza.
Istruzioni complete e note di sicurezza

Nella confezione: la piastra, la staffa intermedia, quattro distanziali da 9,4 mm, quattro viti M6x16, quattro M6x25, due dadi, sei rondelle e la chiave di montaggio.

  • Rimuovi le sei viti originali dalla zona del codone. L'operazione e reversibile.
  • Posiziona i quattro distanziali rispettando il verso: il manuale lo segnala con un disegno dedicato perche non sono simmetrici.
  • Monta la staffa intermedia con le viti M6x25 e le rondelle.
  • Fissa la piastra con le viti M6x16, i dadi e le rondelle rimanenti.
  • Non serrare a fondo subito: completa prima tutte le regolazioni, poi dai la coppia di 12 N.m in sequenza.

Il produttore raccomanda di leggere il manuale e guardare il video prima di iniziare, di ricontrollare periodicamente il serraggio di tutte le viti e di rimontare secondo le indicazioni BMW ogni componente originale rimosso.

Which of the two C 400 plates do I need?

The distinguishing factor is the model year. The JPTC092W, meaning this one, is listed in the manual only for the C 400 GT from 2024 onward. The JPT091W2, on the other hand, covers the C 400 X and C 400 GT from 2018 onward, and it is also the only one of the two that fits the X.

The installation also differs: this one requires removing six original bolts from the tail section and uses an intermediate bracket, while the other mounts to the subframe mounting points without removing anything.

Is the product covered by a warranty?
