This is not a mount that attaches to the engine guard: it is the upper engine guard, with the mounts for the auxiliary lights already integrated. It attaches to the steel fairing subframe of the Kawasaki KLR 650 from 2022 onward and positions any DENALI auxiliary light outside the headlight, on clamps machined with an M8 hole.

22 mm-diameter steel tubing with a 3 mm wall thickness and 6 mm mounting plates: it is designed to provide genuine protection in the event of a fall. The auxiliary light plates are removable, so it can also be installed solely as an engine guard, with the lights added later.

DENALI warns that its installation photos show a prototype with a different clamp from the production version. For compact auxiliary lights in a lower position, there is also the lower mount LAH0810700.

You don't need to have an engine guard installed: this one includes one. 22 mm steel tube with a 3 mm wall, 6 mm plates, attached to the steel fairing subframe of the KLR 650 from 2022 onward.

The auxiliary light plates are removable: you can also use it just as protection and add the lights later.

At altitude: greater range, more sheltered

Mounted high, on the outside of the headlight, the auxiliary lights illuminate farther and stay better protected from rocks and debris than with low mounting. Any DENALI auxiliary light fits here, including the D4 and D7.

For compact auxiliary lights mounted low, use the LAH0810700 lower mount, specified for the DM, D2, D3, and S4.

For a clamp mounting, the first check after 50 km is more important than elsewhere: the clamp must remain secure on the bar even after a few off-road rides.

Apply medium-strength threadlocker to all fasteners and check with the handlebars turned fully to either side that the cables do not become taut.

Montaggio e requisiti

Come si monta

Istruzioni complete e note di sicurezza

Prima di ordinare. Verifica di avere il paramotore montato sulla KLR: questo supporto si fissa alla barra, non ai punti di serie della moto. Se il paramotore non c'è, serve il supporto inferiore.

Montaggio. Il supporto si chiude sulla barra senza forare né modificare nulla. I faretti si montano poi con la viteria M8 in dotazione con il faretto stesso.

Coppie e controlli. Frenafiletti a media resistenza, 18,0 Nm sulla M8 e controllo dopo i primi 50 km: sui fissaggi a collare è più importante che altrove, perché il morsetto deve restare fermo sulla barra anche dopo qualche uscita fuoristrada.

Puntamento e verifica finale. Moto in piano con una persona in sella a 7,6 metri da una parete, riga orizzontale 5 cm sotto il centro dei faretti. Poi manubrio a fondo corsa da entrambi i lati.

DENALI riconosce 5 anni di garanzia convenzionale del produttore. Si aggiunge, e non sostituisce, i 24 mesi di garanzia legale di conformità previsti per legge.

Restano esclusi usura normale, abrasione, uso improprio, installazione errata, incidenti e modifiche. Il montaggio su un paramotore non idoneo o modificato rientra fra le installazioni non conformi alle istruzioni del produttore.

L'uso su strada pubblica dei fasci supplementari è regolato dal codice della strada del Paese in cui circoli: verifica sempre le prescrizioni locali.

A chi ha una KLR 650 dal 2022 e vuole proteggere la parte alta della moto e montare i faretti in un colpo solo, anche i più grandi come D4 e D7.

Va bene anche a chi per ora vuole solo il paramotore: le piastrine per i faretti si tolgono.

Do you already need to have a paramotor?

No: this is the engine guard. It attaches to the steel subframe of the fairing of the KLR 650 from 2022 onward and already has mounts for auxiliary lights, which can be removed if you want to use it only as protection.

Is this or the lower support better?

It depends on the auxiliary lights. The upper crash bar mount accepts any DENALI auxiliary light, including the D4 and D7, and holds them high on the outside of the headlight. The lower mount is listed only for the compact DM, D2, D3, and S4, and excludes the KLR 650 S.

Which spotlights can I install on it?

Any DENALI spotlight: the mounting hole is M8, the standard across the entire range.
