Description Auxiliary light mounts for BMW R 1200 RT and R 1250 RT 2014-2025

Code LAH0710700 — DENALI code LAH.07.10700

Specific mount that allows you to install any DENALI auxiliary light in the optimal position on the BMW R 1200 RT from 2014 to 2018 and the R 1250 RT from 2019 to 2025. Powder-coated steel brackets with an M8 mounting hole and all the necessary hardware.

On the R 1250 RT from 2021 onward, DENALI states that the fairing plastic must be trimmed for installation. Up to 2020, the mount installs without modifications.

On a touring motorcycle, auxiliary lights serve two purposes: seeing farther ahead on unlit roads at night and being seen in traffic. This mount positions them where DENALI designed them to do both.

Who is it recommended for

Designed for a touring motorcycle

On the R 1200 RT and R 1250 RT, the auxiliary lights are mainly useful for seeing far ahead on country roads at night and for being seen in traffic. The mount positions them where DENALI designed them; on the R 1250 RT from 2021 onward, installation requires trimming the fairing plastic.

On an RT, you need to aim the lights again with the bike configured as you actually ride it: two-up, with the panniers full and the top case fitted. Rear suspension sag raises the front end, so the auxiliary lights end up illuminating higher than you adjusted them with the bike unloaded, dazzling oncoming traffic.

The DENALI method: park the bike on level ground 7.6 meters from a wall, with a horizontal line 5 cm below the center of the auxiliary lights.

The mount attaches to the points already provided by the manufacturer, with the required hardware included. No drilling or modifications are needed: the motorcycle returns to its original state by removing the bolts.

The M8 hole accepts any DENALI auxiliary light, from the DL4 to the D7 PRO.

Does it interfere with the fairing?

On the R 1200 RT from 2014 to 2018 and on the R 1250 RT up to 2020, no: the mount installs without modifications. For the R 1250 RT from 2021 onward, DENALI indicates that the fairing plastic needs to be trimmed.

Should I re-aim the spotlights when traveling with a full load?

It’s a good idea. With luggage, a top case, and a passenger, rear suspension sag raises the front end and the auxiliary lights shine higher, disturbing oncoming traffic. Aim them with the setup you actually ride with.

Which spotlights can I install on it?

Any DENALI light: the mounting hole is M8, the standard across the entire range. On a touring motorcycle, narrower-beam models provide the greatest benefit because they extend visibility on two-lane roads at night.
