All you need to know before ordering

Technical specifications, equipment, delivery, and warranty: find every detail, verified against official LOBOO documentation, below.

Description BMW R 1200 - 1250 GS - Adv side case frames

The LOBOO side case racks for BMW R 1200 GS and R 1250 GS (code JP071B) are the steel structure onto which the entire LOBOO luggage system attaches. Plug-and-play installation on the OEM mounting points, with no drilling, and a close-fitting profile that limits the increase in the bike's width when the cases are not mounted.

They are the common base for three luggage families, so you can switch between hard and semi-rigid cases without changing the racks:

  • PIKE TRACKER hard cases — P45L left + P38R right
  • WANDERER semi-rigid cases — 40 L left + 30 L right
  • ALPS — side bags

The cases are not included: this page is for the racks only. If you are starting from scratch, the Wanderer Semi-Rigid Cases Kit for the R 1250 GS already includes these racks together with the cases.

Compatibility, compatible cases, installation, delivery, and warranty details are provided below.

Why choose it
  • LOBOO system common base:accepts PIKE TRACKER hard cases, WANDERER semi-rigid cases, and ALPS bags.
  • Plug-and-play mounting:OEM points, no drilling or frame modifications.
  • Rigid steel structure:withstands lateral load without flexing on uneven terrain.
  • Snug profile:limits width increase when cases are not mounted.
Who is it recommended for

These racks are for you if:

  • You already have LOBOO panniers and just need the racks
  • You want to mount PIKE TRACKER or ALPS panniers on your R 1200 or R 1250 GS
  • You want the flexibility to switch between hard and soft panniers on the same mounting system

If you're starting from scratch, consider the Wanderer Soft Pannier kit for R 1250 GS: it already includes these racks along with the panniers.

How does it work, in detail?

One frame, three luggage families

One frame, three luggage families

The JP071B frames are the common foundation of the LOBOO system for the R 1200 and R 1250 GS: they accommodate the hard PIKE TRACKER cases (P45L plus P38R), the semi-rigid WANDERER 40 plus 30 L bags, and the ALPS bags. You can change the type of luggage to suit the trip without touching the frames.

Steel, rigid structure, profile that hugs the motorcycle, and plug-and-play mounting on the OEM points.

45 and 38 liters: 83 in total, and the motorcycle remains narrow

45 and 38 liters: 83 in total, and the motorcycle remains narrow

These frames support the largest PIKE TRACKER configuration after the symmetrical setups: 45 liters on the left and 38 on the right, 83 liters in total. That’s twenty liters more than the frames for mid-size adventure bikes, which top out at 35+30.

The difference between the two sides isn’t a compromise for less capacity: the right pannier wraps around the exhaust outlet, keeping the bike’s profile more compact than it would be with two 45-liter panniers.

Available in matte black and polished silver. The panniers are sold separately: here you’re buying the mounting base that supports them.

A single frame for four GS bikes

A single frame for four GS bikes

The JP071B covers the R 1200 GS from 2013, the R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014, the R 1250 GS and the R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019: four motorcycles with a single code.

If you change motorcycles while staying within the same family, the structure follows you.

The frame comes before the suitcase

The frame comes before the suitcase

The frames are the part that transfers the load's weight to the motorcycle's chassis. They determine whether the system can handle the load and should be selected before the cases.

They accommodate the P45L+P38R aluminum PIKE TRACKER cases and the 40+30-liter semi-rigid WANDERER cases.

The frames work with the side cases, while the plate fits the rear subframe: together, they complete the luggage system. The standard GS uses the JP071W, while the Adventure uses the JP072W.

You can install them at the same time or add the plate later, without altering anything already installed.

Same structure, GS and Adventure

Same structure, GS and Adventure

Unlike the R 1300 range, where the GS and Adventure require different frames, here the side structure is the same for both versions.

Only the top-case plate changes if you decide to add one.

Maximum load and tightening torques

Maximum load and tightening torques

BMW indicates a maximum load for each side frame, including the case and its contents: this is the limit that really matters, more than the capacity in liters.

After the first 100–200 km, check the fasteners again: the structure settles, and with off-road use, vibrations put more strain on the fasteners than riding on asphalt does.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Which LOBOO side cases can I mount on these frames?

The JP071B frames accommodate three families: the hard-shell PIKE TRACKER cases in the configuration of a left P45L plus a right P38R, the semi-rigid WANDERER 40 L left plus 30 L right, and the ALPS bags. The cases are not included with the frames and must be purchased separately.

If I buy the complete Wanderer kit, are these frames already included?

Yes. The Wanderer Semi-Rigid Pannier Kit for the BMW R 1250 GS already includes the JP071B frames. This page is for those who already own the panniers and only need the frames, or for those who want to mount the PIKE TRACKER or ALPS panniers on them.
