Pair of LOBOO JP071B side frames for BMW R 1200 GS from 2013, R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014, and R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019, with crossbar, brackets, and mounting hardware. Panniers are not included.

One package for GS and Adventure

The box also contains the spacers and M8×35 screws marked ADV, which are used only on Adventure models. There is no need to order a different code depending on the version.

How to install them

No drilling is required. However, the manual calls for removing some original components on both sides and in the exhaust area before installing the frames, with one part to be restored once installation is complete: these are reversible operations, carried out using the supplied hardware and tool.

The package contains 12 components. LOBOO specifies a torque of 20 N·m for all M8 screws, with final tightening to be done in sequence only after all adjustments have been completed. The manual is available in eight languages, including Italian, and can be downloaded from this page.

Which panniers they support

  • PIKE TRACKER hard panniers — P45L on the left and P38R on the right
  • WANDERER semi-rigid panniers — 40 L on the left and 30 L on the right

The JP071B manual mentions the PIKE TRACKER and CONQUEROR series; compatibility with the WANDERER panniers is our own verification, based on the 18 mm tube requirement that LOBOO specifies for those panniers. You can alternate between hard and semi-rigid panniers without changing the frames.

The restriction to know before ordering

The mounting system is proprietary: LOBOO panniers fit only LOBOO frames, and these frames support only LOBOO panniers. If you already have panniers from another brand, these frames will not support them.

Material

Neither the manual nor the LOBOO technical sheet states the material used for this code. We prefer to say so rather than guess: if you need the confirmed information, write to us and we will verify it with the distributor.

If you are starting from scratch, the Wanderer Semi-Rigid Pannier Kit for the R 1250 GS already includes these frames together with the panniers.

How does it work, in detail?

The JP071B frames are the common foundation of the LOBOO system for the R 1200 and R 1250 GS: they accommodate the hard PIKE TRACKER cases (P45L plus P38R), the semi-rigid WANDERER 40 plus 30 L bags, and the ALPS bags. You can change the type of luggage to suit the trip without touching the frames.

Steel, rigid structure, profile that hugs the motorcycle, and plug-and-play mounting on the OEM points.

These frames support the largest PIKE TRACKER configuration after the symmetrical setups: 45 liters on the left and 38 on the right, 83 liters in total. That’s twenty liters more than the frames for mid-size adventure bikes, which top out at 35+30.

The difference between the two sides isn’t a compromise for less capacity: the right pannier wraps around the exhaust outlet, keeping the bike’s profile more compact than it would be with two 45-liter panniers.

Available in matte black and polished silver. The panniers are sold separately: here you’re buying the mounting base that supports them.

The JP071B covers the R 1200 GS from 2013, the R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014, the R 1250 GS and the R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019: four motorcycles with a single code.

If you change motorcycles while staying within the same family, the structure follows you.

The frames are the part that transfers the load's weight to the motorcycle's chassis. They determine whether the system can handle the load and should be selected before the cases.

They accommodate the P45L+P38R aluminum PIKE TRACKER cases and the 40+30-liter semi-rigid WANDERER cases.

The frames work with the side cases, while the plate fits the rear subframe: together, they complete the luggage system. The standard GS uses the JP071W, while the Adventure uses the JP072W.

You can install them at the same time or add the plate later, without altering anything already installed.

Unlike the R 1300 range, where the GS and Adventure require different frames, here the side structure is the same for both versions.

Only the top-case plate changes if you decide to add one.

BMW indicates a maximum load for each side frame, including the case and its contents: this is the limit that really matters, more than the capacity in liters.

After the first 100–200 km, check the fasteners again: the structure settles, and with off-road use, vibrations put more strain on the fasteners than riding on asphalt does.

Are they also compatible with the Adventure versions?

Yes. The manual cover lists four models: R 1200 GS from 2013, R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014, R 1250 GS from 2019, and R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019.

The package is the same for all four: two components in the parts list are marked ADV and are intended only for the Adventure models, so they are already included and nothing needs to be ordered separately.

Which parts should I use if I have the standard GS, and which ones if I have the Adventure?

In the parts list, two items are marked with the abbreviation ADV: the Ø25×Ø8.5×5 mm spacers and the M8×35 screws. They should only be installed on Adventure versions, which have mounting points set farther back.

On standard GS models, those two parts remain unused: it is normal to have them left over at the end of assembly; this does not mean a step was missed.

My 2011 R 1200 GS: is it suitable?

No. The manual specifies the R 1200 GS from 2013 onward, that is, the liquid-cooled generation. On earlier R 1200 GS models, the geometry of the rear subframe is different, and these frames are not listed as compatible.

If you are unsure of the exact year, send us the license plate or VIN, and we will confirm it before purchase.

Which LOBOO side cases can I mount on these frames?

The JP071B frames accommodate three families: the hard-shell PIKE TRACKER cases in the configuration of a left P45L plus a right P38R, the semi-rigid WANDERER 40 L left plus 30 L right, and the ALPS bags. The cases are not included with the frames and must be purchased separately.

If I buy the complete Wanderer kit, are these frames already included?

Yes. The Wanderer Semi-Rigid Pannier Kit for the BMW R 1250 GS already includes the JP071B frames. This page is for those who already own the panniers and only need the frames, or for those who want to mount the PIKE TRACKER or ALPS panniers on them.

Do you need to drill into or modify the motorcycle?

The manual does not specify any drilling: the frame is attached to the existing mounting points. However, it explicitly requires that all parts and fasteners removed from the motorcycle be reinstalled according to the manufacturer’s torque specifications and instructions.

What torque should the screws be tightened to?

The manual specifies 20 N·m for all M8 screws in the kit, in the three included lengths. A torque wrench is required, but it is not included.

The manual instructs you not to fully tighten the screws immediately: first position all the parts and check the alignment, then tighten them in sequence to the specified torque.

Are the hardware and tools included?

Yes. The parts list contains twelve items: left and right frames, crossbar, two brackets, spacers and screws in the three lengths, ten M8 washers, two finishing caps, and the service tool.

The only tool you need is a torque wrench.

What are the two included caps for?

They close the mounting points that remain unused on the motorcycle after the frame is installed, preventing open holes from being exposed to water and dirt. There are two, as specified in the manual’s parts list.

How much weight can I load on each side?

LOBOO does not state a maximum load for these frames, so we will not give you a figure that is not supported by any official document.

The reference to use is the side-case limit indicated by BMW in your motorcycle’s owner’s manual, which also takes into account the permitted total load.

Is the assembly manual in Italian?

Yes. The LOBOO manual is published in eight languages, including Italian, with an illustrated part-by-part bill of materials and the four compatible models listed on the cover. The PDF can be downloaded from this page.

Is the product covered by a warranty?

Yes: all LOBOO products sold on Endurrad are covered by the 24-month statutory consumer warranty. In the event of a lack of conformity, we will handle the claim with the manufacturer.
