Reinforced rear rack for BMW R 1200 GS and R 1250 GS

Code JP071WPRO, which LOBOO calls the enlarged version of its Top Case Rack. It replaces the rear rack area with its own structure — a tubular subframe plus mounting plate — and supports the top case without transferring the weight to the original plastic parts.

Which top cases you can fit

The plate has mounting points prepared for P45T, P36T, T36T and C40T, namely the top cases in the PIKE TRACKER, TIBET and CONQUEROR series. The top case is not included.

What's in the box

Nine line items: the tubular subframe, the mounting plate, four ø20 × ø8.5 × 13 mm spacers, two ø18 × ø8.5 × 10 mm spacers, four M6×30 screws, two M8×30 screws, two M8×35 screws, four M8 washers and the mounting tool.

Tightening torques

Two values not to be confused: 10 N·m for the M6 screws and 20 N·m for all M8 screws. The manual requires fitting all the parts without tightening, making the adjustments, and tightening only at the end, in sequence.

Installation

Four steps. Remove the original screws from the rear area, install the tubular subframe with the M8 screws and spacers, then install the plate with the M6 screws. No drilling or permanent modification is required.

Who is it recommended for

A chi ha una R 1200 o R 1250 GS e viaggia con il bauletto sempre carico, e a chi porta il passeggero che si appoggia allo schienale del top case. È indicato anche per chi monta un bauletto in alluminio pieno, dove il peso a sbalzo conta più del volume.

Se invece dietro metti solo una borsa morbida da weekend, la piastra semplice sul portapacchi originale costa molto meno e basta.

Four bindings on the same plate

Four bindings on the same plate

The plate is drilled for P45T, P36T, T36T, and C40T: the top cases for PIKE TRACKER, TIBET, and CONQUEROR all mount on it. This means the luggage rack doesn’t lock you into one series, and switching cases doesn’t mean redoing the work at the back.

Will it fit my GS?

It is listed for the R 1200 GS from 2013, the R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014, and the R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019, including the two “40 Years GS” editions. It is not intended for the R 1300 GS, which has a different rear section and its own part numbers.

What’s the difference compared with the basic plate?

The plate attaches to the original luggage rack and uses its structure. It comes with its own tubular subframe: the top case’s weight is transferred there instead of onto the stock plastics. More robust, a little more work, and the right choice if the top case is always fully loaded.

Can I mount any top case on it?

The plate has mounting points for P45T, P36T, T36T, and C40T, meaning the top cases in the PIKE TRACKER, TIBET, and CONQUEROR series. For cases from other brands, it depends on the hole spacing: contact us with the model, and we’ll check before you place the order.

Do I need to drill anything?

No. The original mounting points in the rear area are reused: remove the standard screws and install the frame using the supplied ones. There are four steps, making installation much quicker than that of the corresponding model for the R 1300 GS, which requires twenty-two.

What torque should the screws be tightened to?

Two torque values: 10 N·m on the four M6 screws and 20 N·m on all the M8 screws, both the two 30 mm ones and the two 35 mm ones. Fit all the parts without tightening them, make the adjustments, and tighten only at the end.

What will I find in the package?

New items: the tubular frame, the mounting plate, four 13 mm spacers, two 10 mm spacers, four M6×30 screws, two M8×30 screws, two M8×35 screws, four M8 washers, and the mounting tool. The top case is not included.

What material is it made of?

The manual for code JP071WPRO does not state the material, so we do not include it. We prefer an empty field to unsupported data.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
