Do anti-slip grooves really work?

They are needed for something other than sinking: lateral sliding. A wide but smooth plate distributes weight well, but on gravel, wet grass, or sloping concrete, it can slip.LOBOO adds grooves to the sides and bottom of the base specifically to grip the supporting surface. For a motorcycle as heavy as the Gold Wing, that makes a significant difference.

Is it really necessary on a Gold Wing?

Perhaps no other motorcycle is affected more: the GL1800 weighs nearly 400 kg in running order, and all that weight rests on a side stand with a small footprint.You don't need off-road terrain: sun-softened summer asphalt or a gravel parking lot is enough. And lifting a Gold Wing back up off the ground isn't something you can do alone.

The LOBOO CJC34 side stand plate widens the footprint of the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing from 2020 side stand: when parked, the motorcycle’s weight is distributed over a much larger area instead of the few square centimeters provided by the standard foot.

There is little margin on a Gold Wing

The GL1800 weighs nearly 400 kg in running order. All that weight passes through a side stand resting on a small surface, and on asphalt softened by the sun or on slightly yielding ground, the foot leaves an imprint and the motorcycle sinks. Lifting it back up, moreover, is not something you can do alone.

High-strength aluminum, CNC-machined

LOBOO specifies high-strength aluminum alloy and computer numerical control machining, identifying CNC as the reason for the surface finish and precise hole placement: these are the holes that must align with the shape of the original foot.

The anti-slip grooves are machined into the sides and underside of the base to prevent lateral sliding on sloping ground. Widening the footprint without adding grip would solve only half the problem.

Mounts over the original foot

The standard side stand foot does not need to be removed: it remains enclosed between the base and cover, which are tightened with three M5×12 screws. No drilling, no permanent modifications, and if you resell the motorcycle, you can return it to its original configuration in just a few minutes. LOBOO states that it developed the shape using the vehicle’s original data.

Four quintals on a small foot

The GL1800 weighs nearly 400 kg ready to ride, and all that weight rests on a side stand that contacts just a few square centimeters.

The plate enlarges that surface and distributes the load over a much wider area. You don’t need to go off-road to run into problems: a summer afternoon and an old asphalt parking lot are enough.

High-strength aluminum alloy, CNC-machined

LOBOO states that it uses high-strength aluminum alloy and computer numerical control machining, and identifies CNC as the reason for the surface finish and precise hole positioning.

These are the holes that must align with the original foot shape: even one millimeter out of position is immediately noticeable during installation.

It mounts on the original foot without drilling.

The original kickstand foot does not need to be removed. The base is positioned underneath, the cover on top, and three M5×12 screws clamp them together around the stock foot.

No drilling and no permanent modifications: if you sell the motorcycle, you can return it to its original condition in just a few minutes. LOBOO states that it developed the shape using the vehicle’s original data.

Non-slip grooves on the sides and bottom

The grooves are carved into the sides and bottom of the base, preventing lateral sliding.

On gravel, wet grass, or sloping concrete, a wide but smooth surface tends to slip, and with a motorcycle of this weight, sliding is more dangerous than sinking.

How much do you earn in support?

The manufacturer’s panel compares the outline of the original foot with that of the plate: the difference is the area over which the same mass is distributed.

For the same weight, more surface area means lower pressure per square centimeter, below the threshold at which most real surfaces give way.

Four N·m, not five

The box contains the base, the cover, three M5×12 screws, a 3 mm Allen key, and a single-use tube of threadlocker. Nothing else is needed.

The torque specified in the manual is 4 N·m, not the 5 used for most other LOBOO models. If you have already installed a plate from the range on another motorcycle, don't rely on memory: this one must be tightened less.

Before and after, on the same plot of land

The manufacturer’s two photos show the same kickstand on the same loose ground: without the plate, the foot cuts into the ground and sinks; with the plate, it stays on the surface.

With a Gold Wing, it’s not just a matter of the fairings: lifting it off the ground alone, on a yielding surface, is not something you can improvise.

The part says CJC34, while the manual says CJC341.

They are the same item, with two different forms of the code. CJC34 is engraved on the plate cover, and it is also the code under which the Italian distributor lists it; the assembly manual in the box is labeled CJC341.

Do I need to remove the foot of the original kickstand?

No. The standard stand stays in place, enclosed between the base and the plate cover, which are tightened with three screws. LOBOO describes it as a non-destructive installation: no drilling and no permanent modifications, and it can be returned to its original state in just a few minutes if the vehicle is resold.

What tool is needed, and what torque should the screws be tightened to?

A 3 mm Allen key, included in the package along with the three M5×12 screws and a single-use tube of threadlocker. The torque specified in the manual is 4 N·m.

Attention: for most other LOBOO part numbers, the torque is 5 N·m; here, it is 4. If you have already installed a LOBOO plate on another motorcycle, do not rely on memory.
