Everything you need to know before ordering
Compatibility, included items, installation, and documents: below is every detail verified against the official Barkbusters documentation.
BBZ-001 is the handguard Barkbusters designed for real cold: semi-rigid fabric lined with a waterproof membrane that wraps around your hand and keeps out wind, rain, and snow. It is not a plastic handguard, and it is different from everything else in the range.
It does not protect against impacts, and it does not pretend to
The BBZ protects against the elements. For lever protection in a fall, you need a two-point aluminum handguard. The good news is that they are not alternatives: the BBZ can also be fitted over an existing Barkbusters frame, giving you both.
Three mounting options, all included
| How it is mounted | When |
|---|---|
| To the handlebar end weight | If the motorcycle has the original screw-in bar-end weights |
| Inside the hollow handlebar | If the handlebar end is open |
| Over a Barkbusters frame | If you already have aluminum handguards fitted |
Hardware for all three options is included: that is why the manufacturer states that it is suitable for almost any handlebar configuration.
Designed for faired motorcycles
This is what makes it unique. The fabric flexes around the fairing and windscreen at full steering lock, where a rigid handguard would make contact. That is why Barkbusters recommends it for faired sport and touring motorcycles, as well as road, dual-sport, and adventure bikes.
And it is not a soft handlebar-muff cover: the design is flap-resistant and self-supporting, meaning it maintains its shape under wind pressure instead of collapsing onto your hand. The controls remain unobstructed.
What you will find in the box
- Two fabric handguards, right and left, lined with a waterproof membrane.
- All hardware for the three mounting options.
What is NOT included
- Nothing essential: the set is complete and can also be fitted without any frame.
