Everything you need to know before ordering
Compatibility, included items, installation, and documents: below is every detail verified against the official Barkbusters documentation.
The EGO-204 is the mini version of the EGO handguard: the same construction as the full-size version, with dimensions proportioned to a minimoto handlebar. Barkbusters recommends it for minimotos, 80cc bikes and fun bikes with straight 22 mm handlebars, and specifically mentions the KTM 65 SX as well.
Complete kit: heat-treated aluminum backbone, EGO plastics and mounting hardware.
Real protection, not a cosmetic accessory
It features two-point mounting with a full-wrap aluminum backbone around the hand, and Barkbusters states that this configuration is designed for impact protection. On a motocross bike ridden by a child, where crashes are part of the game, that is exactly what is needed: levers protected and hands kept safe.
Why the mini size matters
Mounting a full-size motorcycle handguard on a 65 does not work: it gets in the way, makes contact, and eventually the child will ask to have it removed. The EGO-204 profile is compact and proportionate, protecting hands and levers without adding bulk to a small handlebar.
Stated compatibility
| Motorcycle | Compatibility |
|---|---|
| Minimotos, 80cc bikes and fun bikes with straight 22 mm handlebars | Compatible |
| KTM 65 SX | Compatible, specifically mentioned by the manufacturer |
| Full-size enduro and trail bikes | Requires the EGO-201 |
Barkbusters states compatibility for vehicles in original factory configuration: if the handlebar has been replaced, compatibility must be checked on a case-by-case basis.
