Protezione dagli impatti dichiarata.

Everything you need to know before ordering

Compatibility, included items, installation, and documents: below is every detail verified against the official Barkbusters documentation.

Description Barkbusters EGO-204 Mini full handguards for mini bikes and 80cc

The EGO-204 is the mini version of the EGO handguard: the same construction as the full-size version, with dimensions proportioned to a minimoto handlebar. Barkbusters recommends it for minimotos, 80cc bikes and fun bikes with straight 22 mm handlebars, and specifically mentions the KTM 65 SX as well.

Complete kit: heat-treated aluminum backbone, EGO plastics and mounting hardware.

Real protection, not a cosmetic accessory

It features two-point mounting with a full-wrap aluminum backbone around the hand, and Barkbusters states that this configuration is designed for impact protection. On a motocross bike ridden by a child, where crashes are part of the game, that is exactly what is needed: levers protected and hands kept safe.

Why the mini size matters

Mounting a full-size motorcycle handguard on a 65 does not work: it gets in the way, makes contact, and eventually the child will ask to have it removed. The EGO-204 profile is compact and proportionate, protecting hands and levers without adding bulk to a small handlebar.

Stated compatibility

Motorcycle Compatibility
Minimotos, 80cc bikes and fun bikes with straight 22 mm handlebars Compatible
KTM 65 SX Compatible, specifically mentioned by the manufacturer
Full-size enduro and trail bikes Requires the EGO-201

Barkbusters states compatibility for vehicles in original factory configuration: if the handlebar has been replaced, compatibility must be checked on a case-by-case basis.

What you get in the package

  • Heat-treated aluminum backbones, right and left.
  • High-impact-resistant EGO plastics.
  • Complete mounting hardware.

What is NOT included

  • The B-092 wind deflectors, which are a separate accessory and are listed in the catalog.
  • Bar-end weights: the original ones must be removed.

Why buy it from Endurrad

Free shipping in Italy on orders over €100 and in Europe on orders over €250, returns within 14 days, and support in Italian. If you are not sure whether it is the right size for your child's motorcycle, send us a photo of the handlebar before ordering.

Why choose it
  • Protezione dagli impatti dichiarata.
Who is it recommended for

Assembly and documents

  1. Rimuovi i contrappesi originali.
  3. Fissa la struttura in alluminio all estremità del manubrio e al morsetto, poi portala in posizione e serra.

Mini size, real protection

  • Same construction as the large EGO, with dimensions proportioned for a mini-bike handlebar. Also stated to fit the KTM 65 SX.
Protection for a large motorcycle, mini motorcycle size

Protection for a large motorcycle, mini motorcycle size

The same heat-treated aluminum bar, the same full wraparound design, and the same two mounting points as the EGO for large motorcycles. Only the dimensions change, proportioned to the handlebars and the hands of minimoto riders.

Also declared for the KTM 65 SX

Also declared for the KTM 65 SX

The manufacturer names it explicitly in the official description, together with minimotos, 80cc bikes, and fun bikes in their original factory configuration. If the handlebar has been changed, it must be checked on a case-by-case basis.

The plastics can be changed; the structure remains.

The plastics can be changed; the structure remains.

On a dirt bike for young riders, the plastics wear out quickly. Here, they can be replaced on their own while the aluminum structure remains on the bike: that is the principle behind the entire Barkbusters range, and it is more evident in this product than anywhere else.

Ten colors, like on the big bikes

Ten colors, like on the big bikes

Ten shades, the same as those of full-size motorcycles, chosen to match the factory colors of the most popular brands. For a young rider who races, matching the motorcycle matters just as much as protection.

FAQs

For more information, see our FAQ of frequently asked questions.

What motorcycle does it fit?

The manufacturer recommends it for minimotos, 80cc bikes, and fun bikes in their original factory configuration, with a straight 22 mm handlebar. It is EGO’s mini size: the same construction, with reduced dimensions.

Does it fit the KTM 65 SX?

Yes, the manufacturer explicitly mentions it in the official description: the EGO-204 is also declared compatible with the KTM 65 SX.

What’s the difference compared with the regular EGO-201?

Size. The EGO-204 is the mini version, proportioned for the handlebars and hand size of a mini motorcycle; the EGO-201 is the full-size version for enduro and trail motorcycles. Construction, materials, and mounting method are identical.

Does it really protect, or is it just for looks?

Protects. It features a two-point mounting system with a full-wrap aluminum bar, and Barkbusters states that this configuration is designed for impact protection. On a youth motocross bike, where crashes are the norm, it is exactly what is needed.

Is the kit complete, or do I need to buy anything else?

It is complete: aluminum frame, EGO plastics, and hardware. The wind deflectors are instead a separate accessory, code B-092.

My son modified the motorcycle: can it still be installed?

The manufacturer declares compatibility for motorcycles in their original factory configuration. If the handlebar has been replaced or the motorcycle has non-original controls, compatibility must be checked on a case-by-case basis: send us a photo of the handlebar and we’ll tell you whether it can be fitted.

Does it make the handlebars of a mini bike too heavy?

The mini version was created for exactly this reason: its profile is compact and proportioned to fit the smaller handlebar, instead of mounting a large motorcycle handguard on a 65. It’s the difference between an accessory the rider uses and one that gets in the way.

Are the wind deflectors included?

No. The deflectors for the EGO are code B-092 and are purchased separately: you can find them in the catalog among the Barkbusters components.

If a plastic part breaks, do I have to buy everything again?

No, the plastic is replaced on its own, and the aluminum structure remains on the bike. That’s the advantage of the Barkbusters approach, and on a youth motocross bike, where the plastics wear out quickly, it matters a lot.

Should I remove the bar ends or cut off the grips?

The original bar-end weights must be removed because the handguard attaches to the end of the handlebar, and if the grips are closed at the ends, they must be opened. On a mini bike, it is a quick job, but the general rule applies: if you are not familiar with this work, have it installed at a workshop.

What colors is it available in?

Ten: black, black-on-black, blue, green, gray, orange, red, white, yellow, and HiViz yellow. The same colors as the big bikes, so you can match the brand.

Do I need to recheck the tightening after installation?

Yes. Barkbusters asks you to recheck the tightness of all screws after the first 50 km and recommends a medium-strength threadlocker on all fasteners. On a motorcycle used by a young rider, it is a check worth repeating regularly.
