The manufacturer states a weight of 1650 g and dimensions of 370.9 × 287.6 × 86.3 mm (length × width × height), with a thickness of 4 mm. LOBOO specifies that the measurements were taken manually and that the actual product prevails.

Do they vibrate or rattle like cheap hubcaps?

This is the problem that LOBOO claims to have addressed with the mounting system: the plate does not rest rigidly on the frame, but on three shock-absorbing rubber pads paired with stainless-steel bushings. The manufacturer states that this reduces the transmitted impact force and vibration noise; it does not publish measurements in decibels, and we do not report any.

What is the difference between a skid plate and engine guard bars?

They protect against two different threats. The skid plate is a plate mounted beneath the engine that stops whatever comes from below: rocks, rock steps, logs. Engine guard bars are tubular structures that wrap around the sides of the engine and absorb side impacts in the event of a fall or slide. They are not alternatives: riders who use their motorcycles off-road often install both.

Can I install it together with the engine guard bars?

Yes. In the photos in the official manual, the plate is installed on a DS525X that already has the engine guard bars fitted: the two accessories use separate mounting points and do not interfere with each other. If you already have an engine guard from another brand, contact us before ordering.

What’s the difference between the black version and the silver one?

Only the surface treatment differs. The plate, brackets, hardware, dimensions, and weight are identical: the code (CHB821BK for black, CHB821SL for silver) and appearance change. LOBOO states that this product uses anodic oxidation and electrostatic painting, without specifying which process is applied to each color.

Can I change the oil with the skid plate installed?

The manual does not document a dedicated opening for the drain plug or the maintenance procedure with the plate installed. The official views show cutouts and slots on the bottom, but LOBOO does not state that they are aligned with the drain plug and oil filter of the DS525X. If this point is decisive for you, contact us before ordering: we will verify it with the distributor.

4 mm aluminum alloy skid plate designed for the Voge DS525X from 2023 onward. It mounts underneath the engine, using the original mounting points, and covers the crankcase, oil filter, and exhaust headers: the area left exposed on the DS525X that catches everything thrown up by the front wheel.

On a truly used adventure bike - gravel roads, loose gravel, fords, connecting dirt tracks - damage almost never comes from a fall: it comes from a stone thrown up at speed, a rock step taken badly, or a log hidden in the grass. The engine casing and the initial section of the exhaust are the most expensive parts to repair and the easiest to hit.

The plate is made from a single sheet of formed aluminum, with welded joints, and does not rest rigidly against the frame: stainless steel bushings and shock-absorbing rubber mounts sit between the metal and the attachments, absorbing impacts and preventing resonance, the typical metallic rattling of skid plates bolted directly to the frame.

The package includes everything needed for installation: plate, two brackets, connecting rod, bushings, rubber mounts, hardware, and threadlocker. The LOBOO manual specifies the tightening torques, 10 N·m for the M6 bolts and 20 N·m for the M8 bolts, and requires tightening only after installation is complete.

This is the only model listed by LOBOO as compatible. Compatibility with the DS625X and DS900X is not stated: contact us before ordering and provide the motorcycle model, year, and version.

Complete underbody protection

The most exposed area of the DS525X is the one you cannot see: the engine base, oil filter, and exhaust headers sit low and unprotected. The plate fits between the engine and the ground and attaches to the original mounting points, with no modifications to the motorcycle.

4 mm aluminum, single sheet

LOBOO starts with a single sheet of formed aluminum alloy, with welded joints. Four millimeters instead of the three more common in this category: more protection against high-energy stone impacts, the kind that deform thin plates.

Shock-absorbing pads, no resonance

The plate is not rigidly bolted to the frame: between the metal and the mounts there are three shock-absorbing rubber pads and three stainless-steel bushings. They absorb the impact force and eliminate the metallic rattling heard with directly mounted skid plates.

Gravel and debris stopped before the crankcase cover

On gravel roads, damage is almost always caused by stones kicked up by the front wheel, not by a fall. The plate covers the path of debris toward the engine casing and the initial section of the exhaust.

Anodizing and powder coating

A skid plate comes into contact with water, salt, and gravel. The manufacturer states that this code has two finishing processes, anodic oxidation and electrostatic painting, without specifying which one is applied to each of the two color versions.

Designed using the motorcycle’s original data

LOBOO states that it develops accessories for the DS platform based on the vehicle's original data. The manual requires no drilling or modifications: remove some factory screws, install the brackets and plate, and tighten to the specified torque.

LOBOO declares only one applicable model: Voge DS525X from 2023 onward. For the DS625X and DS900X, compatibility has not been declared by the manufacturer, and we do not assume it: contact us with the model, year, and version, and we will verify it before ordering.
