The benefit is noticeable on long rides and with the windshield in the high position: less direct airflow on the torso, less noise inside the helmet.

On slow roads or off-road, the difference is barely noticeable, and it is right to know that beforehand.

The height adjustment remains the motorcycle’s original adjustment, with the same range of motion. The panel design is intended to perform best in the fully raised position, which is the one used when touring.

When lowered, it exposes the rider’s torso again, as any windshield would.

LOBOO documents its testing with a rider who is 180 cm tall, and states this on the panel. It is not a detail to hide: how much airflow reaches your helmet depends on your height, your riding position, and the helmet you wear.

Very tall riders may find that the airflow still reaches the visor. No windshield can promise the same result for everyone.

The panel is made of injection-molded PC, 4 mm thick. Polycarbonate absorbs an impact by flexing, whereas acrylic tends to splinter: on a part that takes hits from stones and insects at ninety miles per hour, that is the difference between a mark and a crack.

The upper edge is increased to 5.5 mm and rounded: it stiffens the part that vibrates the most and does not leave a sharp edge facing the rider.

Polycarbonate has a known drawback: it is tougher than acrylic but scratches more easily. That is why the surface here has a hardening treatment.

It helps maintain transparency over the years: it is accumulated micro-scratches, not a single impact, that make an old windshield cloudy.

The manufacturer compares it with a windshield without a surface treatment: the pattern of micro-scratches visible when held up to the light is exactly what happens when dry-cleaning a dusty surface.

Even with the treatment, the rule remains: always wet the surface before wiping.

With the windshield fully raised, you don’t look over the panel but through it: that’s why the tint isn’t just an aesthetic choice.

The clear version leaves your view unchanged. The two tinted versions filter it, with the dark one more than the smoked one: keep this in mind if you often ride at night or at dawn.

It’s the safe choice. You look through the panel just as you looked through the standard one, by day or by night, in a tunnel or at dawn.

On the motorcycle, it’s less noticeable than the other two, but it’s the one that doesn’t ask you to give anything up.

In the selector, you’ll find it as Light Grey. It softens reflections and adds character to the front without darkening your view too much.

It’s the tint chosen by those who want the aesthetic effect but also occasionally ride at night.

In the selector, it is Dark Grey. On the black bike, it is undoubtedly the most striking option and makes the front end look like one solid piece.

However, it is also the one you can see through the least, and with the windshield raised, you look through it. If you often ride at night, think twice.

The design is more angular and sharper-edged than the stock one, and together with the increased width, it significantly changes the bike’s appearance when viewed from a three-quarter angle.

If you’re looking for something inconspicuous, this isn’t the right part.

LOBOO specifies that the dimensions are measured by hand and may have slight tolerances. It does not state the weight, and we prefer to say so rather than estimate it.

The standard windshield is removed and this one is installed in its place, reusing the motorcycle’s hardware. No drilling and no adapter to purchase separately.

The manufacturer does not specify the tightening torques: use the original BMW value. Do not fully tighten before checking the alignment on both sides.

The change is reversible in just a few minutes, and this has two practical uses: reinstalling the stock panel before selling the bike, and switching back to the low one if you’re setting off on a mostly off-road trip.
