Description Rear visibility kit with T3 indicators for BMW R 1250 GS

Code DNL07KIT015 — DENALI code DNL.07.KIT.015

Kit for upgrading the rear visibility of BMW R 1250 GS, GS Adventure, RT, and RS from 2019 to 2023: a pair of T3 switchback pods, the license plate bracket, and the wiring harness that connects them to the CANsmart controller.

Each pod performs three functions in a single 74 × 29 × 13 mm housing: red running light at 25%, red brake light at 100%, and amber turn signal, with a 180-degree viewing angle and E-Mark approval for all three functions.

An already-installed CANsmart controller is required and is not included; for this motorcycle, it is the DNLWHS11602. The pods connect to the controller and are configured for «Run / Brake / Turn» without tapping into the original wiring.

Who is it recommended for

A chi ha già una centralina CANsmart sulla R 1250 GS, GSA, RT o RS e vuole completare l'allestimento dietro. Se hai montato un kit faretti con CANsmart, il canale rimasto libero serve esattamente a questo.

Se la centralina non ce l'hai, va acquistata a parte: è la DNLWHS11602. In alternativa i pod T3 si possono collegare al cablaggio originale con i connettori Posi-Tap, ma serve riconoscere i fili con il tester e valutare le resistenze antilampeggio.

Three functions in a 74-millimeter pod

Six high-power LEDs per pod, in two single-color rows: red at 25% for the running light, red at 100% when braking, and amber at 100% as the turn signal. A 180-degree viewing angle and E-Mark approval for all three functions.

The included license plate bracket positions them on either side of the plate, where they can actually be seen from behind.

The included CANsmart wiring harness connects the pods to the control unit, and in the software you set the circuit to “Run / Brake / Turn.” No Posi-Tap connectors on the turn-signal and brake wiring, no wires to identify with a tester, and no anti-hyperflash resistors.

That’s why this kit exists: installing the T3s on a BMW’s original wiring is possible but laborious; using the control unit makes it immediate.

Good to know before ordering: the kit includes the pods, license plate holder, and wiring harness that connects them to the control unit, but not the control unit itself. For the R 1250 GS, it is the DNLWHS11602, which must be purchased separately if you don't already have it.

It’s the natural complement for anyone who has already equipped the front end with a fog light kit and CANsmart: the remaining free channel is exactly what this is for.

Is the CANsmart control unit included in the kit?

No. The kit includes the T3 pods, the license plate bracket, and the wiring harness that connects them to the control unit, but not the control unit itself. If the motorcycle does not already have one, it must be purchased separately: for the R 1250 GS, it is the DNLWHS11602.

Do I need to splice the wires from the original turn signals?

No. With the wiring included, the pods connect to the control unit, and the software is used to set the circuit to “Run / Brake / Turn.” No Posi-Tap on the original wiring and no wires to identify with a tester.

Are T3 pods approved?

DENALI states that all three functions are E-mark approved: position light, brake light, and turn signal. However, you should still verify the applicable road traffic regulations for your configuration.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
