All a motorcycle’s lights face forward or backward: from the side, the motorcycle is a dark silhouette, and that is where the vehicle cutting across your path at an intersection comes from. This kit mounts the T3 pods on the handguards, facing the road, making the daytime running light and turn signal visible through 360 degrees. When you signal, the entire side of the motorcycle and the ground around it light up amber.

There are four functions: white daytime running light, amber turn signal, ground light for seeing obstacles on unpaved roads in the dark, and courtesy light for stopping and getting off at night.

The kit includes the pair of front modular T3 pods and the pair of Ultra-Viz mounts made of injection-molded ABS, with both mounting systems: 3M VHB double-sided adhesive and self-tapping screws. They mount on the aluminum backbone of Barkbusters handguards — JET, VPS, Storm, BLG — on the original handguards, or on any flat vertical surface.

The control unit is not included: to use all four functions, a CANsmart is required, with plug-and-play connection on BMW, KTM, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Triumph, and Husqvarna.

Who is it recommended for

A chi ha già i paramani e una centralina CANsmart, e vuole aggiungere visibilità laterale invece di più luce davanti. Chi viaggia e fa sterrato ci guadagna due volte, perché luce di terreno e luce di cortesia sono funzioni che di notte in bivacco si usano davvero.

Se non hai una centralina CANsmart, le quattro funzioni non sono tutte disponibili: in quel caso valuta prima la centralina. E se la tua moto non ha paramani, i supporti si fissano comunque a qualsiasi superficie piana verticale.

A motorcycle’s lights face forward and backward: from the side, the motorcycle is almost invisible, and that’s where crossing traffic comes from. By mounting the T3 pods on the handguards, aimed toward the roadway, the daytime running light and turn signal become visible from every angle. When you signal, the entire side of the motorcycle and the surrounding ground light up amber.

In addition to daytime running lights and turn signals, the pods serve as ground lights—they illuminate the ground around the motorcycle so you can see obstacles off-road in the dark—and as courtesy lights, which are useful when you stop at night and need to get off, open the panniers, or see where to put the kickstand.

What exactly does the kit contain?

The pair of front modular T3 pods and the pair of Ultra-Viz handguard mounts, with both mounting systems. Buying the two pieces separately would cost more: the kit bundles them together, already matched.

Does it fit on my handguards?

The brackets were designed for the aluminum backbone of Barkbusters handguards — JET, VPS, Storm, BLG — but they attach to any flat vertical surface, including many original handguards. If you’re unsure, send us a photo of your handguard and we’ll tell you whether it’s compatible.

Do you need a CANsmart control unit?

To have all four functions, yes: it is the control unit that manages the ground light and courtesy light, as well as the daytime running light and turn signal. The connection is plug and play on BMW, KTM, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Triumph, and Husqvarna motorcycles equipped with a dedicated CANsmart. Without the control unit, the basic functions remain usable.

Why are resistors needed?

Because an LED draws much less power than a bulb, the motorcycle's control unit interprets this as a burned-out turn signal and makes everything flash at twice the speed. The resistors bring the power draw back to the expected value. Use 10 W resistors—code DNLWHS12700—if the original turn signals were 10 W, and 21 W resistors—code DNLWHS12800—if they were 21 W.

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
