Description D7 PRO auxiliary light kit with mount and DialDim controller for Kawasaki KLR 650

Code DNL08KIT002 — DENALI code DNL.08.KIT.002

The premium package for the Kawasaki KLR 650 from 2022 onward: two dual-circuit D7 PRO auxiliary lights, the dedicated bracket for the upper engine guard bar, and the DialDim controller specific to the KLR 650 Gen3.

DialDim does not connect to the motorcycle's bus: it puts all adjustments on a handlebar-mounted dial. On the KLR, this is the solution specified by DENALI because a CANsmart control unit does not exist for this motorcycle.

Kit contents: 2× D7 PRO auxiliary lights with X-Lens system (DNLD7P050), 1× auxiliary-light bracket for the KLR650 upper engine guard bar (LAH0810900), 1× DialDim controller for KLR 650 (DNLWHS22700K).

Declared compatibility: Kawasaki KLR 650 from 2022 onward.

Why choose it

Who is it recommended for

How does it work, in detail?

Two lights within a single body

Two lights within a single body

The D7 PRO has two independent circuits in the same light: the central amber or yellow one and the outer white one. The quick-change X-Lens system lets you change the lens without disassembling the light, which is useful when switching from asphalt to dirt.

The bracket shown on the KLR

The bracket shown on the KLR

The included mount attaches to the KLR's upper crash bar: the lights sit high, the beam reaches far, and they are less exposed to stones. That's the difference compared with universal clamps, which work anywhere but aren't optimized for this motorcycle.

The DialDim, not the CANsmart

The DialDim, not the CANsmart

The included controller is the DialDim in the version specific to the KLR 650 Gen3: it does not connect to the motorcycle’s bus, but brings all adjustments to a handlebar knob. There is no CANsmart control unit for the KLR, and this is the solution provided by DENALI.

FAQs

For more information, see our FAQ of frequently asked questions.

Which controller is included in this kit?

The DialDim specifically for the KLR 650 Gen3 (DNLWHS22700K), not a CANsmart control unit. DENALI's official product page specifies the DialDim, while some catalogs list the CANsmart: we followed the manufacturer, especially since there is no dedicated CANsmart for the KLR. If this is a deciding factor for you, please contact us before ordering.

What is the difference between DialDim and CANsmart?

The CANsmart plugs into the motorcycle’s bus and brings the auxiliary lights under the original controls, but it only exists for models for which DENALI developed it. The DialDim connects to the battery, and all adjustments are made with a knob mounted on the handlebars. On motorcycles without a dedicated CANsmart, it is the only way to have complete control.

Is this better, or the version with collars?

Only change the mount. Here is the bracket designed for the KLR's upper bar, which positions the auxiliary lights at the location specified by DENALI. The DNL08KIT002C kit instead includes universal clamps for 21 to 29 mm, offering more flexibility in positioning but requiring manual alignment.
