Complete kit for equipping the front end of the KTM 1290 Adventure from 2021: two DL4 auxiliary lights rated at 3,400 lumens each, the upper mount designed for this motorcycle, and wiring with relay and switch. Together they produce 6,800 lumens, with a range of 333 meters and a width of 64 meters.

The DL4 lights use single-piece TIR optics and a sealed construction: fewer components, no gaskets to fail, and IP68 and IP69K protection. The white lens is ECE R149 approved as a high beam.

On KTM models, this kit offers a practical advantage: the lights can be switched on with a standard switch, whereas with the CANsmart control unit, you have to access the dashboard menu and toggle the DRL setting twice while the motorcycle is stationary.

Who is it recommended for

A chi guida una KTM 1290 Adventure dal 2021 e vuole luce vera davanti con un comando immediato, senza passare dal cruscotto ogni volta.

Su altre KTM il supporto non va: in quel caso si usa la versione con collari da paramotore, che si adatta a barre da 21 a 29 mm. E se vuoi la regolazione dell'intensità, il DialDim si può aggiungere in seguito senza cambiare faretti.

The box includes everything, so there’s nothing else to look for: two DL4 auxiliary lights with DataDim technology, the upper mount designed for the KTM 1290 Adventure, and the wiring kit with relay and switch.

Together, they provide 6,800 lumens at the front, with a 333-meter range and 64 meters of width.

On KTM motorcycles, the CANsmart control unit turns on the auxiliary lights in an unusual way: you have to enter the dashboard menu and toggle the DRL setting twice while the motorcycle is stationary.

This kit comes with a standard switch, which you can place wherever you choose. For many people, that’s the main reason to choose this configuration instead of the one with the control unit.

The DL4s feature DataDim technology: the third connector wire carries the dimming signal. With the universal wiring harness, the lights operate in on/off mode but remain ready for a controller.

Add a DialDim to adjust brightness from the handlebar dial, without navigating the dashboard menu or changing the lights or mount.

Do I have to go through the dashboard’s DRL menu to turn them on?

No, and that is a real advantage of this kit on KTM bikes. With the CANsmart control unit, the auxiliary lights come on by toggling the DRL setting twice in the dashboard menu while the bike is stationary. Here, on the other hand, there is a regular switch.

Does it fit the 890 Adventure?

The included mount is specified for the KTM 1290 Adventure from 2021 onward. Other KTM models require different mounts, or the version with crash-bar clamps, which fits bars from 21 to 29 mm.

Do you need to drill anything?

No. The upper support is attached to the points already provided by the manufacturer, and the wiring runs directly to the battery with its own fuse.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
