Complete kit for equipping the front end of the BMW R 1300 GS: two DL4 auxiliary lights rated at 3,400 lumens each, the upper mount designed for this motorcycle, and wiring with relay and switch. Together they produce 6,800 lumens, with a range of 333 meters and a width of 64 meters.

The DL4 lights use single-piece TIR optics and a sealed construction: fewer components, no gaskets to fail, and IP68 and IP69K protection. The white lens is ECE R149 approved as a high beam.

The mount uses the same code as the mounts included in the D7 PRO kits for the R 1300 GS, so if you upgrade later, you only need to change the lights and can keep the mount. The lights feature DataDim technology and remain ready for a CANsmart control unit.

Who is it recommended for

A chi ha una R 1300 GS e vuole luce vera davanti con un montaggio semplice, senza collegarsi al connettore dell'antifurto e senza passare dal software di una centralina.

Da sapere: con questo kit i faretti si accendono anche a motore fermo, perché manca la protezione che la centralina CANsmart applica sui circuiti più assorbenti. Se preferisci quel comportamento e la regolazione dai comandi originali, la strada è il kit con CANsmart.

Everything is included in the box, so there’s nothing else to look for: two DL4 auxiliary lights with DataDim technology, the top mount designed for the R 1300 GS, and the wiring kit with relay and switch.

Together, they deliver 6,800 lumens at the front, with a range of 333 meters and a beam width of 64 meters.

On the R 1300 GS, the CANsmart control unit has a safeguard that keeps the higher-consumption circuits switched off until the engine is running: the auxiliary lights activate only after two seconds of stable engine speed.

With this kit, the auxiliary lights are powered by the battery through a switch, so they also turn on when the engine is stopped. Depending on how you use the motorcycle, this is either one less limitation or an added convenience.

The DL4s feature DataDim technology, and the mount is the same part used in the D7 PRO kits for this motorcycle: if you want to move up the range in the future, you can replace the lights and keep the mount.

By adding the CANsmart DNLWHS25900 control unit, you can adjust them using the original controls without redoing the mechanical installation.

Do the auxiliary lights on the R 1300 GS remain off when the engine is stopped?

No, and here that is an advantage. That behavior is specific to the CANsmart control unit, which keeps the circuits off until the engine is running. With this kit, the auxiliary lights are powered by the battery through a switch, so they turn on whenever you want.

Is the bracket the same as the D7 PRO kits for this motorcycle?

Yes, the dedicated upper bracket for the R 1300 GS has the same part number. The auxiliary lights change—DL4 instead of D7 PRO—as does the way they are powered.

Can I add a CANsmart controller later?

Yes. The DL4 spotlights feature DataDim technology and remain ready for adjustment via a DENALI controller. Adding a CANsmart or DialDim enables control using the original buttons without changing the spotlights or mounting bracket.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
