Description DL4 auxiliary light kit with wiring harness and mount for BMW R 1250 GS

Complete kit for equipping the front end of the BMW R 1250 GS from 2019 to 2023 and the R 1200 GS from 2013 to 2018: two DL4 auxiliary lights producing 3,400 lumens each, the upper mount designed for these generations, and the wiring harness with relay and switch. Together, they produce 6,800 lumens, with a range of 333 meters and a beam width of 64 meters.

The DL4 lights use monoblock TIR optics and a sealed housing: fewer components, no gaskets that can fail, and IP68 and IP69K protection. The clear lens is approved under ECE R149 as a high beam.

The mount attaches to the manufacturer’s existing mounting points, with no drilling required. The lights feature DataDim technology: if you later add a DialDim or CANsmart controller, you can adjust them using the original controls without replacing anything.

Who is it recommended for

A chi guida una R 1250 GS dal 2019 al 2023 o una R 1200 GS dal 2013 al 2018 e vuole luce vera davanti senza mettere mano all'elettronica della moto. Il montaggio non tocca il CAN bus: supporto, faretti, cablaggio alla batteria e interruttore dove preferisci.

Se hai una GS Adventure serve il kit con il supporto delle versioni Adventure, che è un pezzo diverso. E se vuoi la regolazione dai comandi originali con sincronia abbaglianti, la strada è il kit con centralina CANsmart.

Everything you need is in the box, so there’s nothing else to look for afterward: two DL4 spotlights with DataDim technology, the upper mount designed for your GS, and the wiring kit with relay and switch. You don’t need to choose brackets, source a relay, or drill anything.

Together, they deliver 6,800 lumens at the front, with a 333-meter range and a 64-meter width.

The support is from your generation

The included upper support is specified for the R 1250 GS from 2019 to 2023 and the R 1200 GS from 2013 to 2018, which share the same mounting points. It mounts to the holes already provided by the manufacturer, with no drilling required.

Be careful not to confuse it with the one for the Adventure versions, which is a different part: if you have a GSA, you need the other kit.

The DL4s feature DataDim technology: the third wire in the connector carries the dimming signal. With this kit’s universal wiring, the lights can be switched on and off, while remaining ready for a controller.

By then adding a DialDim or the CANsmart controller for the R 1250 GS, you can adjust them using the original controls, with high-beam synchronization and turn-signal-linked shutoff, without changing the lights or mounting bracket.

Can I adjust the intensity of the spotlights using the motorcycle’s controls?

No. This kit uses universal wiring with a switch, not a control unit connected to the CAN bus: the auxiliary lights are turned on and off using the switch you install. To adjust the intensity using the original buttons, you need a kit with a CANsmart control unit.

Does the mount work with both the R 1250 GS and the R 1200 GS?

Yes. The included upper mount is specified for the R 1250 GS from 2019 to 2023 and the R 1200 GS from 2013 to 2018, which share the same mounting points. The GS Adventure requires a different mount.

Do you need to drill or modify anything on the motorcycle?

No. The mount attaches to the points already provided by the manufacturer, and the wiring connects directly to the battery with its own fuse. The only choice you make is where to position the switch.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
