Complete kit for equipping the front end of the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019 to 2024 and the R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014 to 2018: two DL4 auxiliary lights rated at 3,400 lumens each, the Adventure-version mount, and wiring with relay and switch. Together they produce 6,800 lumens, with a range of 333 meters and a width of 64 meters.

The DL4 lights use single-piece TIR optics and a sealed construction: fewer components, no gaskets to fail, and IP68 and IP69K protection. The white lens is ECE R149 approved as a high beam.

Pay attention to the model: the Adventure versions have different mounting points from the GS models, and this is the kit with the dedicated Adventure mount. The lights feature DataDim technology and remain ready for a controller to be added later.

Who is it recommended for

Se hai una GS senza Adventure serve il kit con il supporto della sua generazione, perché i punti di fissaggio sono diversi. E se vuoi la regolazione dai comandi originali con sincronia abbaglianti, la strada è il kit con centralina CANsmart.

Everything is in the box, so there’s nothing else to look for later: two DL4 spotlights with DataDim technology, the mount designed for the Adventure versions, and the wiring kit with relay and switch.

As a pair, they deliver 6,800 lumens at the front, with a range of 333 meters and a width of 64 meters.

It’s the family’s most common purchasing mistake. Adventure versions have different mounting points from GS models, and this kit’s bracket is specified for the R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019 to 2024 and the R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014 to 2018.

If you have a GS without Adventure, you need the other kit, with the bracket for its generation.

The DL4s feature DataDim technology: the third wire in the connector carries the dimming signal. With the universal wiring harness, the spotlights can be switched on and off using a switch, while remaining ready for a controller.

By then adding a DialDim or the CANsmart control unit for the R 1250, you can adjust them using the original controls, with high-beam synchronization and turn-signal-linked shutoff.

Is the mount the same as on the regular R 1250 GS?

No, and it’s the most common mistake. The Adventure versions have a different mounting bracket from the GS models: this kit fits the one made for the 2019–2024 R 1250 GS Adventure and the 2014–2018 R 1200 GS Adventure. If you have a non-Adventure GS, you need the other kit.

Can I adjust the intensity using the motorcycle controls?

No. This kit uses universal wiring with a switch, not a CAN bus control unit: the auxiliary lights are turned on and off using the switch you install. To adjust them using the original buttons, you need a kit with CANsmart.

Do you need to drill anything?

No. The support attaches to the points already provided by the manufacturer, and the wiring runs directly to the battery with its own fuse. The only choice is where to position the switch.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
