It is the base on which the top case attaches to the Husqvarna Norden 901 from 2023 onward. The code for the fixed version is JP901W.

How to install it

The package contains four 7 mm spacers, four M8×45 bolts, four washers, and the key. The manual first calls for removing an original component from the tail section, then positioning the spacers and finally securing the plate. Everything is reversible, with no drilling required.

The tightening torque is 20 N·m: the bolts are M8, so the value is higher than the 12 N·m specified for many other plates in the range. First complete the adjustments, then tighten the bolts in sequence. The manual is available in eight languages, including Italian.

Which top cases can be fitted

The manual lists the PIKE TRACKER, TIBET, and CONQUEROR series for this plate. The top case is not included in any version, and LOBOO aluminum top cases can only be fitted to LOBOO plates and luggage racks.

The sliding version

Alongside the fixed version, a sliding version is available with a 120 mm adjustment track: the top case moves forward when you ride alone, to centralize the weight, and backward when carrying a passenger. It unlocks with a button and locks again automatically, without tools. LOBOO states a maximum load of 10 kg on asphalt and 8 kg on unpaved roads for this version.

One clarification is necessary for this version: LOBOO’s manual for the sliding model lists the KTM 790 Adventure, and the Norden 901 does not appear in it. The two motorcycles share the same platform, but until we have written confirmation from the manufacturer, we prefer to make this clear. If you are interested in the sliding version, contact us before ordering and we will verify it with the distributor.

The complete system

The plate mounts to the rear subframe; the JP901B side pannier frames mount on the sides and have their own product page.

The rear load has a limit

For the fixed version, LOBOO does not specify a load capacity of its own: the limit indicated by Husqvarna in the owner’s manual for the rear subframe applies, and includes the plate, top case, and contents. Recheck the fasteners after the first 100–200 km and make sure the top case does not obstruct the license plate or rear lights.

The plate material is not specified in any LOBOO source, including the manual.

How does it work, in detail?

Sliding: the top case moves 120 mm

The Sliding version features a sliding rail with 120 mm of forward and backward adjustment. Press a button, slide the top case, and it locks itself in the new position: no tools required.

Move it forward when traveling alone, to centralize the weight and reduce handlebar wobble at high speeds. Move it back when carrying a passenger, to give them more space on the seat.

The top case rack for the Norden

The JP901W plate provides access to six top case codes: PIKE TRACKER P45T and P36T, and TIBET T36T, in black or silver. The top case is a separate item.

It combines with the JP901B side frames: the plate on the rear subframe and the frames on the sides. Together, they complete the luggage system.

The top case accommodates six variants: PIKE TRACKER P45T and P36T, and TIBET T36T, each available in black or silver.

The P45T is the choice for those who want to store a full-face helmet in the top case, while the P36T and T36T keep the rear more compact.

The top case is not included

This page concerns the plate only: it is the base onto which the top case attaches, and the top case must be purchased separately.

This is also why it is best to install it first: your choice of top case remains open.

Compatible with side frames

The plate mounts on the rear subframe, while the JP901B frames mount on the sides: they are complementary products and together complete the luggage system.

However, they are not mandatory: the plate can also be installed on its own if you only need the top case.

The rear load has a specific limit.

Husqvarna indicates a maximum load on the rear subframe: this includes the mounting plate, top case, and contents.

It is the highest and rearmost point of the load: exceeding it affects stability more than the same weight in the side cases.

Fixed Plate: fixed position. Good if you almost always travel alone or almost always with a passenger, without alternating.
Sliding Plate: sliding rail with 120 mm of adjustment. Forward when alone, to centralize the mass and reduce oscillation at high speeds; backward with a passenger, to free up space on the seat for them.

The Sliding Plate unlocks with a button and re-locks itself in the new position, without tools. Maximum load indicated by LOBOO: 10 kg on asphalt, 8 kg on dirt roads.

The top case is a separate item in both versions. Compatible codes: P45T-BK, P45T-SL, P36T-BK, P36T-SL, T36T-BK, T36T-SL.
