Description Ducati Desert X side case frames

The LOBOO JP581B side-case frames for Ducati Desert X are the foundation of the luggage system: steel construction, mounted to the attachment points provided by the manufacturer, with no adapter brackets.

The key feature is dual compatibility: they accept both aluminum and semi-rigid cases, so your choice is not limited when purchasing the frames.

Compatible cases (not included)

  • PIKE TRACKER aluminum — P35L+P30R, in black or silver
  • WANDERER semi-rigid — BCB4030TBK, 40+30 liters

Aluminum protects the load better and has keyed locks, but it is heavier and has rigid edges in the event of a fall. Semi-rigid cases weigh less and are more forgiving in tight spaces.

A JP581W top-case plate is required for the top case; it is listed on a separate page. The plate and frames complement each other and complete the system together.

  • They do not widen the Desert X more than necessary:it is a narrow and light bike for its category, and the asymmetric 35+30 volumes maintain that advantage even when loaded.
  • Aluminum or semi-rigid:they accept rigid PIKE TRACKER, WANDERER 40+30, and ALPS bags. On the Desert X, which many truly use off-road, being able to switch to soft bags without changing frames is important.
  • Mounting on Ducati points:without drilling or adapter brackets.
  • They combine with the JP581W plate:also available in a sliding version, with 120 mm of top case adjustment.

The JP581B frames are compatible with both the black or silver aluminum P35L+P30R PIKE TRACKER cases and the 40+30-liter WANDERER semi-rigid cases. The type of case does not need to be chosen when purchasing the frame: you can change your mind or alternate between the two options.

These frames fit the PIKE TRACKER 35+30: 35 liters on the left, 30 on the right. It’s not a cost-cutting compromise; it’s the exhaust outlet. The right case has a recess that clears it, visible in the photo alongside.

The alternative would be to widen both sides to equalize the volumes, ending up with a motorcycle ten centimeters wider just to gain five liters. This way, the profile stays compact, and you can really feel the difference in tight passages or traffic.

The only thing to remember is the orientation: the bulkier luggage goes on the left. The same frames also support the WANDERER 40+30 semi-rigid cases and the ALPS bags.

The frames are the part that transfers the load’s weight to the motorcycle’s chassis. They determine whether the system can withstand the load and should be selected before the cases.

Ducati specifies a maximum load for each side case: this includes the case and everything you put inside it.

It’s the limit that really matters, more than capacity in liters: a 35-liter case that’s packed poorly can easily exceed the permitted load.

After the first 100–200 km, the structure settles: checking the fasteners is the most useful maintenance you can perform.

With off-road use, repeat it periodically: vibrations on uneven terrain put more strain on the fasteners than any mileage on asphalt.

Which panniers can I mount on these frames?

Three combinations: the aluminum PIKE TRACKER P35L+P30R in black or silver, and the 40+30-liter semi-rigid WANDERER BCB4030TBK bags. The cases are a separate item and are not included with the frames.
