Description LOBOO CHG862 Crash Bar for Yamaha XMAX 300 from 2023 | 304 stainless steel, Ø 22 mm, with integrated footrests

The CHG862 is LOBOO’s crash bar for the Yamaha XMAX 300, made of 304 stainless steel with a Ø 22 mm tube and a 2 mm wall thickness. It does more than just provide protection: it carries four CNC-machined aluminum alloy footrests, two per side, with non-slip rubber inserts that provide a highway-peg riding position on long stretches.

Check the year before ordering, because this kit comes in two versions. LOBOO makes one for the 2021–2022 XMAX 300 and one for the XMAX 300 from 2023 onward: the material, tube diameter, and finishes are identical, but the shape of the footrests and the bar routing differ. The one sold here is the version from 2023 onward, the only one covered by the included manual. If your XMAX is a 2021 or 2022 model, the correct kit does exist, but it is not this one: write to us and we will confirm it for you.

The package also includes two auxiliary light brackets, one per side, with a Ø 10 mm hole. The lights and wiring are not included and must be purchased separately: they appear in the product photos only to show their position. The kit is available in two finishes, sandblasted and electropolished silver or electrostatic-painted black; the finishes affect appearance only.

Installation consists of four steps, identical on both sides, and requires no drilling or modifications to the scooter’s original structure. One point to know before starting: if you decide not to install the light brackets, some components must be installed before the bar, not afterward. The manual states this explicitly.

A crash bar reduces damage from a side impact or a stationary fall, but does not eliminate it, and LOBOO does not publish load tests for this part number; therefore, no strength threshold is declared. For cleaning, the manufacturer asks that you keep the pressure washer at least one meter away and use only neutral detergents: acids and alkaline products cause irreversible damage to the surface. Endurrad is a retailer, not the manufacturer.

Why choose it
  • Integrated Cruise Pegs: Features integrated pegs crafted from CNC-machined aluminum alloy with a non-slip rubber design. Offers a comfortable "highway peg" position for safer and more relaxed riding
  • Auxiliary Light Ready: Equipped with an integrated auxiliary light mount. This reasonably raises the mounting position, making it easy to install auxiliary lights for improved nighttime visibility
  • Solid Construction: Made from Ø22mm (2mm thickness) 304 stainless steel tubing with clean and robust welds for long-lasting impact resistance.
Who is it recommended for

Ideal for travel, adventure use, and light off-roading, where a low-speed fall can damage fairings and the engine.

Check the year: this kit comes in two versions

LOBOO produces the CHG862 in two versions: one for the 2021–2022 XMAX 300 and one for the XMAX 300 from 2023 onward. The material, tube diameter, and finishes are identical; the shape of the footboards and the bar routing differ, as shown in the comparison beside it. The one we sell is the version for models from 2023 onward, which is also the only version specified in the included manual.

The complete kit: two bars, right and left, four aluminum footboards, two large ones for the floor and two small ones for the side, and the two brackets for the spotlights. Plus bushings, rubber pads, hardware, and a service wrench, for a total of 16 items in the bill of materials.

Count the pallets: there are four, two on each side

Count the pallets: there are four, two on each side

The kit does not come with one footboard per side, but two: a small one at the top, on the side, and a large one at the bottom, on the floorboard. They are made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy, with non-slip rubber inserts. They allow you to change position on long stretches, where the XMAX floorboard keeps your legs at the same angle.

Check the material: 304 stainless steel, not painted steel

Check the material: 304 stainless steel, not painted steel

The bar is made of 304 stainless steel, with a Ø 22 mm tube and a 2 mm wall thickness. It is the choice that withstands corrosion on a scooter left parked outdoors all year round. The silver finish comes from sandblasting and electrolysis, while the black finish comes from electrostatic painting: the appearance changes, not the structure.

Choose the finish: visible silver or matte black

Choose the finish: visible silver or matte black

CHG862SL is brushed and electropolished stainless steel, which remains visible and stands out against dark bodywork. CHG862BK is powder-coated, matte, and blends into the scooter's black finish. In the black kit, the footrests are also black. The material, dimensions, mounting points, and package contents are identical.

Assemble in four steps, no drilling required

Assemble in four steps, no drilling required

The manual describes four steps, identical on both sides, using the existing mounting points: no drilling and no modifications to the original structure. The torque values are specified for each screw, from 12 to 20 N·m. One constraint to read first: if you do not install the light bracket, some components must be mounted before the bar, not afterward.

The bracket for the spotlights is already included in the kit.

The bracket for the spotlights is already included in the kit.

The package includes two dedicated brackets for auxiliary lights, one per side, with a Ø 10 mm hole. Universal clamps to tighten around the tube are not required. The spotlights and wiring are not included, however; they must be purchased separately.

Imagine the mounted spotlights

Imagine the mounted spotlights

The spotlights in the photos are only there to show the position: LOBOO explicitly states this in the product images, and we are repeating it here. The bracket is included; the spotlights are not. If you want them, choose ones with a Ø 10 mm fitting.

See how much it covers from the front

See how much it covers from the front

From the front, the purpose of the kit is clear: the two bars extend wider than the fairing, so in a stationary fall, they make contact first. This is the most common type of fall on a scooter, and also the most expensive, because replacing an XMAX fairing costs more than the entire crash bar.

Follow the bar to the floor.

Follow the bar to the floor.

The lower section runs along the floorboard and supports the large footrest. The screws go through the points already provided by Yamaha, so the plastic is not drilled and removing the kit leaves no trace.

Check the side profile dimensions

Check the side profile dimensions

The bar follows the line of the hull and descends to the floorboard without protruding beyond the scooter’s overall envelope. LOBOO does not specify the width or weight of the installed kit; if you need this information for a top case or a narrow garage, write to us and we’ll measure it on a unit in stock.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Which Yamaha XMAX does the CHG862 fit?

The official installation manual states Yamaha XMAX 300 from 2023 onward. This is the window we publish because the manual is the highest-ranking source among those we have.

Why do I read “from 2023” here and “2021–2023” elsewhere?

Because the CHG862 comes in two versions. LOBOO makes one for the 2021–2022 XMAX 300 and one for the XMAX 300 from 2023 onward: same material, same tubing, same finish, but different footrest shapes and bar routing. The manufacturer's generic page covers both, while the manual included in the package applies only to the version from 2023 onward.

The version we sell here is the one for 2023 onward. If your XMAX is a 2021 or 2022 model, write to us before ordering: the right kit for you exists, but this isn't it.

What will I find in the package?

The manual’s parts list includes 16 items: the right and left bars, four aluminum footrests (two small and two large), two brackets for auxiliary lights, bushings, ten rubber pads, all the hardware with washers and self-locking nuts, and a service wrench.

Auxiliary lights and wiring are not included; the mounting bracket is.

Do I need to drill or modify the scooter?

No. The kit attaches to the existing mounting points, in four identical steps on both sides, with no drilling or modifications to the original structure. Once removed, the XMAX returns to its stock configuration.

What torque should the screws be tightened to?

The manual specifies them all: 12 N·m for the M6×20 and M6×35, 18 N·m for the M8×30, and 20 N·m for the M8×45. The manufacturer asks you not to fully tighten them immediately: first position the entire kit, then tighten them in sequence to the specified values. Check the tightness again after the first few kilometers and periodically thereafter.

Are the footboards included, or are they purchased separately?

Included, and there are four: two per side, one small on the side and one large on the platform. They are made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy with non-slip rubber inserts, and in the black kit they are black as well. The manual does not state a maximum load capacity, so we do not publish one.

Can I mount spotlights on it?

Yes, and the bracket is already included in the kit: two dedicated mounts, one per side, with a Ø 10 mm hole. No universal clamps that tighten around the tube are needed. Spotlights and wiring must be purchased separately: in the product photos, they are shown only to indicate the position, as LOBOO itself states.

If you decide not to install the brackets, the manual changes the installation order: some components must be installed before the bar.

Does anything differ between black and silver besides the color?

No. CHG862BK and CHG862SL share the same material, tube diameter, fittings, and package contents; only the finish differs: matte black or matte silver. The choice is purely aesthetic.

Can I attach inflatable crash bar bags to it?

No. LOBOO inflatable crash bar bags are designed for Ø 25 mm bars, while the CHG862 uses a Ø 22 mm tube, so the attachment will not hold. We would rather say so here than deal with a return.

How much does it weigh, and how far does it protrude from the sides?

We don’t know, and we’d rather say so. Neither the manual nor the LOBOO product page states the weight or dimensions of the assembled kit, so we don’t publish estimated figures. If you need the information for a box truck or a narrow garage, write to us and we’ll measure one in stock.

How do you clean it without damaging it?

The manual is precise on this point. If you use a pressure washer, keep the lance at least one meter away from the product. Wash with a soft brush or cloth and a neutral detergent: acids and alkaline substances irreversibly damage the surface. Dry any remaining water immediately with a cloth.

How do warranty, shipping, and returns work?

24-month legal guarantee of conformity for consumers, and we handle the claim with the manufacturer for you. Tracked shipping is free for orders over €100 in Italy and €250 in Europe. You have 14 days from receiving the last item in your order to return it, provided the product is intact and in its original packaging.
