The complete kit: two bars, right and left, four aluminum footboards, two large ones for the floor and two small ones for the side, and the two brackets for the spotlights. Plus bushings, rubber pads, hardware, and a service wrench, for a total of 16 items in the bill of materials.

The kit does not come with one footboard per side, but two: a small one at the top, on the side, and a large one at the bottom, on the floorboard. They are made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy, with non-slip rubber inserts. They allow you to change position on long stretches, where the XMAX floorboard keeps your legs at the same angle.

The bar is made of 304 stainless steel, with a Ø 22 mm tube and a 2 mm wall thickness. It is the choice that withstands corrosion on a scooter left parked outdoors all year round. The silver finish comes from sandblasting and electrolysis, while the black finish comes from electrostatic painting: the appearance changes, not the structure.

CHG862SL is brushed and electropolished stainless steel, which remains visible and stands out against dark bodywork. CHG862BK is powder-coated, matte, and blends into the scooter's black finish. In the black kit, the footrests are also black. The material, dimensions, mounting points, and package contents are identical.

The manual describes four steps, identical on both sides, using the existing mounting points: no drilling and no modifications to the original structure. The torque values are specified for each screw, from 12 to 20 N·m. One constraint to read first: if you do not install the light bracket, some components must be mounted before the bar, not afterward.

The package includes two dedicated brackets for auxiliary lights, one per side, with a Ø 10 mm hole. Universal clamps to tighten around the tube are not required. The spotlights and wiring are not included, however; they must be purchased separately.

The spotlights in the photos are only there to show the position: LOBOO explicitly states this in the product images, and we are repeating it here. The bracket is included; the spotlights are not. If you want them, choose ones with a Ø 10 mm fitting.

From the front, the purpose of the kit is clear: the two bars extend wider than the fairing, so in a stationary fall, they make contact first. This is the most common type of fall on a scooter, and also the most expensive, because replacing an XMAX fairing costs more than the entire crash bar.

The lower section runs along the floorboard and supports the large footrest. The screws go through the points already provided by Yamaha, so the plastic is not drilled and removing the kit leaves no trace.

The bar follows the line of the hull and descends to the floorboard without protruding beyond the scooter’s overall envelope.
