Description LOBOO CHG025S/X Crash Bar for BMW F900GS | 304 stainless steel, Ø 25 mm, black or white

The CHG025 is the LOBOO crash bar set for the BMW F900GS from 2024 onward. It includes two components that protect different areas of the motorcycle: the tank bar, which protects the upper fairings around the tank, and the engine bar, which covers the lower part of the engine. At Endurrad, they are supplied together in the same finish.

LOBOO specifies 304 stainless steel, Ø 25 mm tubing with a 2 mm wall thickness, and an electrostatic coating, available in black or white. The only difference between the two colors is the color itself: the geometry, material, dimensions, and mounting points are identical. The production codes are CHG025S-BK and CHG025X-BK for black, and CHG025S-WT and CHG025X-WT for white.

Installation uses the motorcycle’s existing mounting points, with no drilling or frame modifications, so the kit can be removed without leaving any traces. However, it is not a five-minute job: the manual describes thirteen steps and requires temporarily removing some original bolts and covers, which must then be refitted to BMW’s specified torque settings. LOBOO states that the bolts should not be fully tightened during installation and should only be tightened in sequence at the end: 12 N.m for the M6 bolts, 22 N.m for the M8 bolts, and 45 N.m for the M10 bolts. The manual is provided in eight languages, including Italian, and refers to an installation video.

The package contains everything needed: the parts list includes 28 items covering bars, brackets, fasteners, bushings, spacers, and two assembly keys, so nothing needs to be purchased separately. The bars include mounting points for auxiliary lights with Ø 9 mm holes; the lights, mounts, panniers, and frames visible in the images are for demonstration purposes and are not included in the kit.

It is worth being clear about what to expect: a crash bar reduces the damage from a fall but does not eliminate it. LOBOO does not publish load tests for this code, so we do not claim any impact-resistance thresholds. It also does not publish the kit’s weight; if you need this information, we can weigh it in our warehouse before your order. Endurrad is a retailer, not the manufacturer: we handle sales, shipping, and after-sales support, while the technical specifications remain those declared by LOBOO. Before purchasing, always check the motorcycle’s model, year, version, and any accessories already installed.

Install the bars without drilling into the F900GS frame

Install the bars without drilling into the F900GS frame

On a new motorcycle, the first question is whether installing protection requires drilling or cutting anything. Here, it does not: LOBOO states that installation requires no drilling and uses the mounting points already provided on the F900GS.

The set comprises two separate components, the tank bar and the engine bar, which protect two different areas: the upper fairings around the tank and the lower part of the engine.

Look at what the bar around the tank covers

Look at what the bar around the tank covers

A stationary or low-speed fall causes the motorcycle to land on its side, at the level of the tank. That is where the fairings get scratched, and it is the most common and most expensive damage to repair.

The upper bar is shaped to move the contact point away from the plastic. The white version is installed in the photo.

Add the spotlights without buying separate brackets

Add the spotlights without buying separate brackets

Anyone who travels early in the morning or in winter sooner or later wants two auxiliary lights, and in most cases dedicated brackets must be purchased separately.

LOBOO indicates mounting points already provided on the bar. The lights shown in the images are for demonstration purposes and are not included in the kit.

Measure the hole before ordering the spotlights: it is 9 mm.

Measure the hole before ordering the spotlights: it is 9 mm.

Before choosing the spotlights, it’s best to know which screw size the mounts accept; otherwise, the package arrives and the bracket won’t fit through.

The LOBOO technical panel specifies a Ø 9 mm mounting hole. Check that the bracket of the spotlight you have in mind fits within that measurement.

See where the bar is anchored: on the existing points

The detail shows the bracket connecting the bar to the engine block, bolted where the motorcycle already has its mounting point.

LOBOO states that the design is based on OEM specifications for a precise fit. The practical advantage is that the kit can be removed without leaving any marks on the motorcycle.

Look at the welds, not the paint

Look at the welds, not the paint

On a crash bar, the part that really does the work is the joint between the tubes. If it gives way there, the bar opens up and ends up resting directly on the fairing it was meant to protect.

LOBOO talks about clean, even welds, and the weld bead is visible in the close-up. It is the only element that can be assessed by eye: no load tests are published, so we do not state impact-resistance thresholds.

Check the four codes: there are two bars for two shades.

Check the four codes: there are two bars for two shades.

The set consists of a tank bar and an engine bar, each available in black and white, hence the four codes CHG025S-BK, CHG025X-BK, CHG025S-WT, and CHG025X-WT. By selecting the color above, you order the complete pair in the corresponding finish.

The LOBOO technical panel specifies 304 stainless steel, Ø 25 x 2 mm tubing, and an electrostatic finish for both colors.

Those who travel fully loaded want to know whether the bars fit alongside the pannier racks or overlap them. The side view shows the complete motorcycle, with the panniers and top case installed.

The panniers, top case, and auxiliary lights shown in the photos are not included in the kit: LOBOO uses them for demonstration purposes.

Choose the color by seeing it mounted on the motorcycle

The two images show the same kit in the two available finishes. The white follows the subframe and looks good with the light-colored livery; the black blends in and lets the motorcycle speak for itself.

The material and dimensions do not change between the two versions; only the color of the powder-coated finish changes.

See how much the bars widen the motorcycle

See how much the bars widen the motorcycle

The question that comes up most often isn’t about durability but about width: how far they stick out to the side, in traffic and in the garage.

The front view gives the actual measurement, and the two close-ups show the auxiliary light mount on the tube and the bar running in front of the radiator.

A crash bar changes the motorcycle’s lines more than you might expect, so it’s worth viewing it from a three-quarter angle before ordering.

Here, the kit is the black version, paired with panniers and a top case. The accessories are not included in this image either.

Add inflatable bags to your crash bars

Add inflatable bags to your crash bars

The bars you’re about to install do more than just protect: they’re already the ready-made mounting points for LOBOO Wanderer inflatable bags. A pair of 6-liter bags, each waterproof to IPX7, with keyed anti-theft locks and a stated capacity of 300 kg per inflated bag.

They inflate when you set off and deflate when you return: carry what you need without installing frames or leaving permanent bulk along the side of the motorcycle. Make use of the Ø 25 mm tube you already have and go fully equipped.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Which motorcycles is the CHG025 mounted on?

LOBOO states compatibility with the BMW F900GS from 2024 onward. The kit is not specified for the F900GS Adventure or earlier F900 generations: if you have one of those, contact us before ordering and we’ll check the frame mounting points together.

What does the kit include?

The LOBOO manual’s parts list includes 28 items: right and left tank bars, right and left engine bars, the center bracket, two connecting plates and two supports, plus all the necessary hardware—M6, M8, and M10 screws, washers, self-locking nuts, bushings, and spacers—as well as a strap and two assembly wrenches. There’s no need to buy anything separately.

What is the difference between the black version and the white one?

Only the finish color. The material, tube diameter, geometry, and mounting points are identical; only the codes differ: CHG025S-BK and CHG025X-BK for black, CHG025S-WT and CHG025X-WT for white.

What material are the bars made of?

The LOBOO technical panel specifies 304 stainless steel, with a Ø 25 mm tube and a 2 mm wall, finished with an electrostatic coating. 304 stainless steel resists corrosion well, which is an advantage if the motorcycle is left outdoors or ridden in winter on salted roads.

Do you need to drill or modify the motorcycle?

No drilling or modification is required: the kit attaches to the existing mounting points on the F900GS and can be removed without leaving any marks. However, the manual does require temporarily removing some original screws and covers, identified as removal areas, which must then be reinstalled to BMW’s specified torque settings: there are thirteen steps, manageable for someone accustomed to working on motorcycles, but not a five-minute job.

Can I install only the tank bar or only the engine bar?

On the Endurrad, the CHG025 is sold as a complete set because the two bars cover different areas of the motorcycle. LOBOO produces the two separate part numbers but does not state whether each bar can support itself on the F900GS: write to us before going that route so we can check with the manufacturer instead of guessing.

Can I mount auxiliary spotlights on it?

Yes: LOBOO indicates mounting points already provided on the bar, with a Ø 9 mm hole. Check that the bracket for the spotlight you have in mind fits this size. The spotlights and mounts shown in the photos are for demonstration purposes and are not included.

Does a crash bar prevent damage in the event of a fall?

It reduces damage; it does not eliminate it. The bars move the support point away from the fairings and engine, but the outcome depends on speed, angle, and surface. LOBOO does not publish load tests for this code, so we do not state impact-resistance thresholds.

Are the bars compatible with panniers and small frames?

In the LOBOO installation images, the kit is mounted on an F900GS already equipped with mounting frames, side cases, and a top case. The manufacturer does not report any incompatibility with other accessories; if you have a particular setup, send us a photo and we’ll assess it before you place the order.

How much does the kit weigh?

LOBOO does not declare the weight of this code, so we do not publish it. If you need this information for a load assessment, we can weigh the kit in our warehouse and provide it to you before you place the order.

Is it necessary to recheck the tightening after installation?

Yes, and the manual itself requires it. LOBOO states that the fasteners should not be fully tightened during installation; first complete all adjustments, then tighten them in sequence to the specified torques: 12 N.m for M6 bolts, 22 N.m for M8 bolts, and 45 N.m for M10 bolts. The manual also recommends periodically checking the tightness of all components and reinstalling any removed original parts to the torque specifications specified by BMW. You can download the complete manual from the download section of this listing.

Is the product covered by a warranty?

Yes: all LOBOO products sold on Endurrad are covered by the 24-month statutory consumer warranty. In the event of a lack of conformity, we will handle the claim with the manufacturer.

How do shipping and returns work?

Tracked shipping, free for orders over €100 in Italy and over €250 in Europe. You have 14 days from receipt of the last item in your order to make a return: the product must be intact and in its original packaging. Contact us, and we’ll guide you through the procedure.
