Description LOBOO CHG033 Crash Bar for BMW F750GS, F800GS, and F850GS | 304 stainless steel, Ø 25 mm, black or silver

The CHG033 is LOBOO’s crash bar system for the twin-cylinder BMW F GS family, made of 304 stainless steel with Ø 25 mm tubing and a 2 mm wall thickness. One code covers three motorcycles because they share the same chassis.

Before ordering, check your model and year because the fitment windows differ. The official installation manual and LOBOO product images specify BMW F750GS from 2018, BMW F800GS from 2024, and BMW F850GS from 2021. If your motorcycle falls into one of these three groups, this is the correct kit; if you have an F850GS from before 2021 or an earlier-generation F800GS, contact us before ordering.

This is not a single bar. Its official name is Upper and Lower Crash Bar, and the exploded view shows four components: two bars that rise to the level of the tank and fairings, and two lower bars that wrap around the engine side, with mounting points for auxiliary lights already integrated into the upper section. The stated kit weight is approximately 7 kg.

It is available in two finishes that differ only in appearance: silver, achieved through sandblasting and electropolishing, with the stainless steel left exposed, or black with a powder-coated finish. The codes are CHG033SXSL for silver and CHG033SXBK for black; the material, dimensions, and mounting points are identical.

Installation uses the original mounting points and requires no drilling or cutting, consisting of nine steps that are identical on both sides. The bracket routing differs between the F850GS and the F750GS-F800GS pair: the manual includes a separate diagram for each. LOBOO provides mounting points for auxiliary lights on the upper bars, but the lights must be purchased separately.

A crash bar reduces damage from a stationary tip-over or a low-speed slide, but does not eliminate it: LOBOO does not publish load tests for this code, so we do not state any resistance thresholds. The official manual, available in eight languages, instead lists the 27 bill-of-materials items and the tightening torque for each bolt; you can find them in the specifications below. Endurrad is a retailer, not the manufacturer.

Who is it recommended for

Ideal for travel, adventure riding, and light off-roading, where a low-speed fall can damage fairings and the engine.

Check your model: there are three covered GS models

Check your model: there are three covered GS models

LOBOO prints compatibility on its own product image: BMW F750GS from 2018, BMW F800GS from 2024, BMW F850GS from 2021. One code for three bikes that share the same chassis.

However, the fitment windows are different: if you have an F850GS from before 2021 or an F800GS from the previous generation, contact us before ordering.

Count the bars: there are four, not two

Count the bars: there are four, not two

Two upper bars rise to the height of the tank and fairings, where a stationary drop leaves the most expensive marks. Two lower bars wrap around the engine side.

It is a complete kit, not just the upper section: the stated weight of approximately 7 kg confirms this.

Install without altering the motorcycle’s structure

Install without altering the motorcycle’s structure

LOBOO talks about lossless installation: the kit attaches to the existing mounting points, with no drilling or cutting. Once removed, the GS returns exactly to how it was.

That’s the difference between a reversible accessory and one that leaves its mark when you sell the motorcycle.

See where it attaches, without adapters

See where it attaches, without adapters

The detail shows the attachment to the frame’s original mounting points, with the bar following the line of the fairing instead of overlapping it like a universal cage.

LOBOO states that modifying the vehicle’s original structure is not necessary.

Look at the welds, not the paint

Look at the welds, not the paint

On a crash bar, the working part is the joint between the tubes: if it fails there, the bar opens up and rests directly against the fairing it was supposed to protect.

LOBOO claims its welds are clean and strong. This is the only element that can be assessed by eye: it does not publish load tests for this product code, so we do not indicate strength thresholds.

Factor in the bracket if you want the spotlights.

Factor in the bracket if you want the spotlights.

On the LOBOO top bars, space is reserved for auxiliary spotlights, and the images show the finished result.

However, pay attention to what comes in the box: the manufacturer specifies that both the mounting bracket and the spotlights must be purchased separately. If you have already chosen the spotlights, contact us and we can assess the suitable bracket together.

Choose the finish: visible silver or matte black

Choose the finish: visible silver or matte black

The silver finish is sandblasted and electropolished 304 stainless steel, satin-finished, with the metal left exposed. The black finish is electrostatically powder-coated, also satin-finished.

Only the appearance changes: the material, dimensions, and fittings are identical. Codes CHG033SXSL and CHG033SXBK.

Read the numbers stated by the manufacturer

Read the numbers stated by the manufacturer

The LOBOO technical panel states that it is made of 304 stainless steel, with a Ø 25 mm tube and a 2 mm wall thickness, and that the kit weighs approximately 7 kg.

What it does not state is equally important: there is no manual with a parts list and tightening torques for this code, and we will not make one up.

Look at the finished GS from the side

Look at the finished GS from the side

A four-bar kit changes the bike’s look more than you might expect, and on a GS loaded with luggage, the result is what you see.

It’s worth looking at it from the side before choosing between black and silver: at a glance, they look like two different bikes.

Add inflatable bags to your crash bars

Add inflatable bags to your crash bars

The bars you’re about to install do more than just protect: they’re already the ready-made mounting points for LOBOO Wanderer inflatable bags. A pair of 6-liter bags, each waterproof to IPX7, with keyed anti-theft locks and a stated capacity of 300 kg per inflated bag.

They inflate when you set off and deflate when you return: carry what you need without installing frames or leaving permanent bulk along the side of the motorcycle. Make use of the Ø 25 mm tube you already have and go fully equipped.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Which BMW models is the CHG033 compatible with?

LOBOO product images show three motorcycles, each with its own model-year range: BMW F750GS from 2018, BMW F800GS from 2024, and BMW F850GS from 2021. A single part number covers all three because they share the same chassis.

I have a 2019 F850GS; will it work anyway?

LOBOO lists the F850GS from 2021 onward, so earlier model years are not covered by the manufacturer's statement. The same applies to the F800GS before 2024. If your motorcycle falls into one of these cases, write to us before ordering: we'll check the frame mounting points instead of leaving you to discover the problem with the package open.

What’s the difference between the black and silver finishes?

Only the surface treatment differs; both are satin-finished. The silver one is sandblasted and electropolished 304 stainless steel, left exposed; the black one is electrostatically powder-coated. The material, dimensions, geometry, and fittings are identical: only the codes differ, CHG033SXSL and CHG033SXBK.

How many bars are in the kit?

Quattro. Two upper bars that rise to the height of the fuel tank and fairings, and two lower bars that wrap around the engine side. It is a complete kit, not just the upper section.

What does the kit include?

Four bars: two upper ones positioned at the height of the tank and fairings, and two lower ones that wrap around the engine side. For this code, LOBOO does not publish the hardware list; if you need confirmation of the exact contents before ordering, we can open a package in the warehouse and let you know.

Do you need to drill or modify the motorcycle?

No. LOBOO refers to a lossless installation: the kit attaches to the existing mounting points and requires no modifications to the original structure, drilling, or cutting. Once removed, the GS returns exactly to how it was.

What torque specifications should I use?

For this code, LOBOO has not yet provided the manual with the torque values, so we are not publishing them: we prefer not to state figures that no one has given us. The general rule applies: do not fully tighten during assembly, and tighten in sequence at the end, following BMW’s specified torque values for the original screws being reused. As soon as we receive the manual, we will publish it here.

What torque should the screws be tightened to?

The LOBOO CHG033SX manual specifies them all: 12 N·m for the M6×16, 10 N·m for the M6×20 and M6×35, 20 N·m for the M8×20, M8×25, and M8×30, and 28 N·m for the M10×30. The manufacturer advises against fully tightening them immediately: first position the entire kit, then tighten them in sequence to the specified values.

The M6×16 has a higher torque than the longer M6×20: that is what the manual states, and we are publishing it as is. Check the tightness again after the first few kilometers and then periodically.

What will I find in the package?

The manual’s parts list contains 27 items: the two upper right and left bars, the two lower right and left bars, the 5-L and 5-R plates, the connecting brackets, bushings, caps, threadlocker, and all the hardware with washers and self-locking nuts.

Auxiliary spotlights and their brackets are not included. In one step, the manual calls for reusing an original motorcycle screw instead of one from the kit: set it aside when disassembling.

What material is it made of, and how much does it weigh?

304 stainless steel, with a Ø 25 mm tube and a 2 mm wall thickness. The LOBOO technical panel indicates that the kit weighs approximately 7 kg. 304 stainless steel offers good corrosion resistance, a practical advantage if the motorcycle is left outside or ridden in winter on salted roads.

Can I mount auxiliary spotlights on it?

The upper bars have space reserved for spotlights, but please note: LOBOO specifies that both the mounting bracket and the spotlights must be purchased separately. Neither is included in the package. If you have already chosen the spotlights, write to us and we will evaluate the appropriate bracket together.

Does it also cover the lower part of the engine?

The lower bars wrap around the engine side, but they do not replace a skid plate: protection from below, against stones and rocks, remains the responsibility of the motorcycle’s skid plate or a dedicated accessory. The CHG033 works on side-impact protection.

Does a crash bar prevent damage in the event of a fall?

It reduces damage; it does not eliminate it. The bars move the support point away from the fairings and engine side, but the outcome depends on speed, angle, and surface. LOBOO does not publish load tests for this code, so we do not state impact-resistance thresholds.

Does it interfere with panniers, racks, or other accessories?

In the LOBOO installation images, the motorcycle is already equipped with pannier racks, aluminum side cases, and a top case, and the manufacturer does not indicate any incompatibilities. The kit works in the front and side areas, away from the rear racks. If you have a special setup, send us a photo and we’ll assess it before you place the order.

Is it necessary to recheck the tightening after installation?

Yes. After the first 100–200 km, check all the screws again, and repeat the check periodically with off-road use and after every fall. Also make sure that the bars are not bent and are not resting against fairings or components.

How do warranty, shipping, and returns work?

24-month legal consumer warranty: LOBOO states 12 months, but Italian law prevails, and we handle the claim with the manufacturer. Tracked shipping is free for orders over €100 in Italy and €250 in Europe. You have 14 days from receipt of the last item in your order to return it, provided the product is intact and in its original packaging.
