This is the DialDim controller with the specific wiring harness for the Ducati DesertX already included: it connects inline to the original headlight, horn, and turn signal connectors, with no need to search for wires or pierce insulation.

A single dial controls two sets of auxiliary lights, with eight intensity levels each. The automatic functions activate on their own: maximum output with the high beams, shutoff when you activate the turn signal, and flashing when you sound the horn.

Each circuit has an electronic fuse adjustable from the dial across eight settings, from 1 to 20 A, and resettable without removing anything.

Kit contents: 1× DialDim controller (DNLWHS20500) and 1× DialDim wiring harness for Ducati DesertX (DNLWHS23900).

Plug and play on the DesertX

The package includes the DialDim and the wiring harness designed for the DesertX: it plugs inline into the original headlight, horn, and turn signal connectors. No tester, no splicing, and when you remove everything, the bike returns exactly to how it was.

Automatic functions activate on their own

Once the five inputs are connected, the spotlights run at full power with the high beams, turn off when you use the turn signal, and flash when you honk. These are behaviors you set once and then never touch again: the motorcycle handles them automatically.

What’s the difference compared to the universal DialDim?

The controller is the same. The wiring harness is different: this one is specific to your motorcycle and connects inline to the original headlight, horn, and turn signal connectors. The universal DialDim, on the other hand, comes with a Posi-Tap wiring harness, which must be connected by tapping into the circuit after identifying the correct wires.

Is this better, or a CANsmart control unit?

It depends on what you want. The DialDim controls two circuits from a dedicated dial on the handlebar, and it’s the right choice if you’re only interested in auxiliary lights. The CANsmart manages four and lets you use the motorcycle’s original buttons without adding anything to the handlebar, but it costs more and is available only for certain models.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
