Description CANsmart GEN II motorcycle accessory controller for BMW R 1250 GS and R 1200

The control unit that uses your BMW CANbus to control up to four accessories from the Wonder Wheel, without adding handlebar switches or loose relays under the seat. It plugs into the original connectors: nothing needs to be cut or drilled.

Four circuits rated at 10 A continuous each, 30 A total, preconfigured for two sets of DENALI auxiliary lights, a SoundBomb horn, and the B6 brake light — but each can be reconfigured for any accessory within that limit. The CANsmart Accessory Manager software unlocks dozens of settings: flashing with the high beams, strobing with the horn, automatic shutoff with the turn signals, an electronic fuse for each circuit, and five-level heated clothing control.

Compatible motorcycles: R 1200 GS LC 2013-2018, R 1200 GS LC Adventure 2014-2018, R 1200 R and RS 2015-2018, R 1200 RT 2014-2018, R 1250 GS 2019-2023, R 1250 GS Adventure 2019-2024, R 1250 RT 2019-2024, R 1250 R and RS 2020-2024.

For the R 1300 GS, use code DNLWHS25900; for the K 1600, S 1000 XR, F 900 XR, F 850 GS, and F 750 GS, use DNLWHS11702.

Who is it recommended for

A chi sta allestendo una R 1250 GS o una R 1200 LC con più di un accessorio elettrico. Se metti solo un paio di faretti e basta, un cablaggio con interruttore costa molto meno; se invece prevedi faretti, clacson, luce freno e magari manopole riscaldate, il CANsmart si ripaga in tempo di installazione e in ordine sotto la sella.

Se la tua moto non è in elenco: R 1300 GS usa il DNLWHS25900, la famiglia K 1600, S 1000 XR, F 850 e F 750 GS usa il DNLWHS11702. Su moto senza CANsmart dedicato, il controller universale DialDim fa un lavoro simile senza leggere il CANbus.

The control unit connects to the motorcycle’s CAN bus and provides four circuits for accessories. From then on, auxiliary lights, the horn, and the brake light can be switched on, switched off, and adjusted using the BMW Wonder Wheel, with no additional switches on the handlebar and no loose relays under the seat.

Is it compatible with my BMW?

This control unit fits the R 1200 GS LC 2013–2018, R 1200 GS LC Adventure 2014–2018, R 1200 R and RS 2015–2018, R 1200 RT 2014–2018, R 1250 GS 2019–2023, R 1250 GS Adventure 2019–2024, R 1250 RT 2019–2024, and R 1250 R and RS 2020–2024. For the R 1300 GS, code DNLWHS25900 is required; for the K 1600, S 1000 XR, F 850, and F 750 GS, use DNLWHS11702.

What’s the difference between GEN I and GEN II?

This is the GEN II, with more available current and more settings. DENALI stopped developing new features for GEN I devices in February 2024: if you find a cheaper GEN I controller out there, be aware that it no longer receives updates.

Do you need to know how to work on the electrical system?

No. The control unit plugs into the motorcycle’s original connectors: nothing needs to be cut or drilled. The part requiring the most attention is reaching the connection point, which is located differently on each model: the official DENALI manual shows it step by step.

Can I connect non-DENALI accessories to it?

Yes. The four circuits come preconfigured for DENALI accessories, but each can be reconfigured through the software and supports 10 A continuously: you can connect a USB socket, GPS, dashcam, heated grips, or any other accessory within that limit.

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
