Charger and maintainer for 12V motorcycle batteries

A motorcycle battery does not die in winter: it dies because it remains discharged. All it takes is an alarm system that is always powered and two weeks in the garage for the voltage to drop below the threshold at which lead begins to sulfate. The C60 is designed to prevent this, without requiring you to think about it every week.

Two currents, two jobs

  • 3 A, slow charging — lithium batteries from 1 to 20 Ah, and lead-acid and AGM batteries from 3 to 20 Ah. This range covers virtually any motorcycle battery.
  • 6 A, fast charging — lithium batteries from 6 to 120 Ah, and lead-acid and AGM batteries from 15 to 120 Ah. It also covers the family car.

Three battery types, not one

Lithium iron phosphate, lead-acid, and AGM, all at 12 V. The type is selected on the display, and the distinction is not merely cosmetic: applying a lead-acid charging profile to a lithium battery damages it.

The cycle continues after a full charge

The manufacturer states that the multi-stage charging curve runs from initial diagnosis to pre-charging, followed by increasing current, constant current, constant voltage, charge completion, and finally maintenance. This final stage makes it possible to leave the charger connected throughout the storage season.

Desulfation and lithium recovery

For lead-acid batteries, the C60 detects light sulfation and automatically starts a recovery cycle. For lithium batteries, it features declared undervoltage protection with a recovery mode for cells that have dropped below the threshold at which a standard charger can no longer recognize them. These functions are intended for minor issues: a battery at the end of its service life cannot be brought back.

Overcharging, short circuit, reverse polarity, and undervoltage protection. Declared protection rating: IP65—protection against dust and water jets, but not immersion. Certifications declared by the manufacturer: CE for the European Union and FCC for the United States.

Connect it once

The first beautiful day in March, the motorcycle has been sitting since November, and the relay goes click click click instead of turning over. You don’t even need a whole winter: an always-powered alarm system and two weeks in the garage are enough. A battery left discharged doesn’t just fail to start—it gets damaged.

A 3 A, it charges lead-acid motorcycle batteries from 3 to 20 Ah and lithium batteries from 1 to 20 Ah. At 6 A, it goes up to 120 Ah and covers your car at home. That is the difference between a motorcycle battery maintainer and a charger that serves the whole garage—and here you get both in the same device.

The manufacturer states a multi-stage charging curve: diagnosis, pre-charge, increasing current, constant current, constant voltage, end of charge, and then maintenance. It is this final stage that allows you to leave it connected for months without cooking the battery, and it is why a maintainer is not just any charger.

A lead-acid battery left discharged accumulates sulfate on its plates and loses capacity. The C60 recognizes slightly sulfated batteries and automatically starts a recovery cycle. The manufacturer specifies this for mild cases and subject to the battery’s condition: it will not revive a battery that has reached the end of its service life, and we do not present it as though it would.

Lithium batteries that drop below a certain voltage become invisible to standard chargers, which do not recognize them or start charging. The C60 features undervoltage protection with a recovery mode designed specifically for this situation. How far recovery can go depends on how low the battery voltage has fallen and how long it has remained there.

Protected from dust and water jets. It isn't rated for immersion, and we don't claim that it is, but it's exactly what a device needs when it lives hanging in a damp garage next to a motorcycle that comes back wet. Most inexpensive battery maintainers don't state any protection rating.

The package includes an SAE quick-connect cable that you leave attached to the battery terminals, with the connector extending from under the seat. From the second time onward, you don't have to remove anything: connect and disconnect it in two seconds. The box also includes four cable ties for securing the cable along the frame.

Is it suitable for my motorcycle battery?

If it is a 12 V lithium iron phosphate, lead-acid, or AGM battery, yes: those are the three types specified in the manual. What changes is the current to use. At the slow 3 A charging rate, it supports lithium batteries from 1 to 20 Ah and lead-acid or AGM batteries from 3 to 20 Ah, which is the range that practically every motorcycle battery falls into.

Can I use it on the car too?

Yes, and that is the reason for the 6 A. In fast-charging mode, the manual specifies lithium batteries from 6 to 120 Ah and lead-acid or AGM batteries from 15 to 120 Ah, which is the range for cars. On the display, the car icon is next to 6 A and the motorcycle icon is next to 3 A.

How do I choose between 3 A and 6 A?

Choose based on the battery’s capacity, not on haste. Below 20 Ah, stick to 3 A; above that—and in any case for anything exceeding 15 Ah for lead-acid batteries—you can switch to 6 A. Charging a small battery with too high a current heats it up and shortens its life.

Can I leave it connected all winter?

That’s what it’s designed to do. The cycle specified by the manufacturer is multi-stage and doesn’t end when the battery is fully charged: it continues with a maintenance phase that keeps the battery at the correct voltage without continuing to charge it. That’s exactly what a motorcycle needs when it’s not being used from November to March.

What will I find inside the package?

Four items: the battery charger unit, the cable with approximately 50 cm clamp terminals, the approximately 50 cm SAE quick-connect cable, and four cable ties. The unit’s cables measure approximately 150 cm on each side.

What is the SAE cable used for?

It is the cable that remains connected to the battery terminals and comes out from under the seat: next time, you do not have to remove anything; just connect the charger to the quick-connect fitting and you are done. The SAE connector is the standard also used by other 12 V accessories.

What is desulfation, and when is it needed?

A lead-acid battery left discharged accumulates lead sulfate on the plates and loses capacity. The manufacturer states that the C60 detects lightly sulfated batteries and automatically starts a recovery cycle. This function works in mild cases: a battery that has reached the end of its service life cannot be restored.

Can you recover a lithium battery that has been over-discharged?

The manufacturer states that it provides undervoltage protection with a recovery mode for lithium batteries, specifically designed for cells that have fallen below the threshold at which a standard charger can no longer recognize them. However, this is not a guarantee of recovery: it depends on how low the voltage has dropped and how long it has remained that way.

Do I have to reset the mode every time?

No. The device stores the last setting: you select it the first time using the Mode and OK buttons, and from the second time onward, you just need to connect it.

Can I keep it outside, exposed to water?

The stated rating is IP65: protected against dust and water jets, but not immersion. It can therefore withstand a damp enclosure, an open garage, or occasional rain, but it is not designed to remain outdoors permanently.

What safety features does it have?

The manufacturer states that it provides protection against overload, short circuits, reverse polarity, and undervoltage. Reverse-polarity protection is the most important in real-world use: if you swap the terminals, the device will not deliver power.

What does the display show?

The battery voltage in volts, the state of charge by level (25, 50, 75, and 100 percent), the current selected between 3 A and 6 A, and the battery type set to lead-acid, AGM, or lithium, plus the indicator lights for Repair and Force modes.
