Description Trigger Wizard adapter for ground-switched high beam DNLWHS20600

Code DNLWHS20600 — DENALI code DNL.WHS.20600

Many factory LED headlights switch the high beam on the ground side instead of the positive side. On those motorcycles, the high-beam wire carries 12 volts when the high beam is off and drops below one volt when you switch it on: the opposite of what DENALI wiring harnesses expect, so the auxiliary lights do not change intensity with the high beam.

This adapter inverts the signal and provides a conventional 12-volt high-beam signal that can be used by the wiring harness or controller.

How to tell if you need it: use a tester to measure the voltage on the high-beam wire while switching the high beam on and off. If it changes from 0 to 12 volts, the system is conventional and the adapter is not needed; if it changes from 12 volts to nearly zero, it uses ground-side switching and the adapter is required.

Why choose it

Complete technical specification sheet
Technical data

How does it work, in detail?

  • The spotlights follow the high beam, on any motorcycle.
Only needed if the headlight switches to ground

Only needed if the headlight switches to ground

Many stock LED headlights switch the high beam on the negative side instead of the positive side. On those motorcycles, the high-beam wire has 12 volts when the high beam is off and drops below one volt when you turn it on: the exact opposite of what DENALI wiring harnesses expect. This adapter reverses the signal and provides a normal 12-volt high-beam signal.

How to tell in thirty seconds if you need it

How to tell in thirty seconds if you need it

You need a tester and half a minute: measure the voltage on the high-beam wire while switching it on and off. If it goes from 0 to 12 volts, your system is conventional and you don't need this adapter. If instead it starts at 12 volts and drops almost to zero, it uses ground switching, and without the Trigger Wizard, the spotlights won't change intensity with the high beam.

Why universal rather than specific to my motorcycle?

Because DENALI does not produce a dedicated version for every model. The universal version works on any motorcycle, but it must be connected to a circuit by finding the correct wire. If a specific wiring harness exists for yours, it plugs into the original connectors without cutting and is always preferable: ask us and we’ll tell you whether one is available.
