The LOBOO purchase panel is explicit: installing the BCB12BK requires three pieces—the bag, the BZJ01BK mounting plate, and the frame specific to your motorcycle. The frame attaches to the motorcycle, the plate to the frame, and the bag clips onto the plate. The Complete Set configurations on this page contain all three.

Two quick-release buckles attach the bag to the BZJ01BK aluminum alloy plate, which measures 35.7 × 26.2 cm. The bag detaches and reattaches in seconds without tools, while the plate remains on the motorcycle.

The quick-release system incorporates a key lock, so the bag can remain locked to the motorcycle when you leave it parked. The manufacturer states that keys can be supplied to match the key code of LOBOO aluminum cases: if you already own some, provide us with the code when ordering and you’ll use a single key for all your luggage.

The manufacturer states that the cotton canvas weighs 16 ounces. Ounces measure how heavy the fabric is per unit of area: the more ounces, the thicker the canvas and the more resistant it is to abrasion. Sixteen ounces is the weight of work-grade canvas, not a lightweight backpack.

In practice, this is what allows the bag to withstand abrasion and maintain its shape even when empty, rather than sagging against the side of the motorcycle.

Inside, the BCB12BK has a U-shaped support plate that reinforces the base and sides. It protects the contents: without it, the load would be crushed against the frame whenever the bag is jolted. This is what distinguishes a structured bag from a soft sack.

The LOBOO package includes a one-piece waterproof inner TPU bag made of thermoplastic polyurethane. This is what keeps the contents dry in the rain.

For the outer canvas, the manufacturer does not claim any water resistance, so anything you want to protect should be placed inside the bag. We state this clearly rather than leaving it implied.

MOLLE is the standard for the grid-stitched webbing visible on both sides of the bag: you can attach compatible pockets, bottle holders, and accessories, which stay securely in place without tools.

The LOBOO technical panel features them on both sides, not just one: you can distribute the weight instead of loading everything onto the same side.

The BZJ01BK plate also has MOLLE attachment points. The manufacturer shows Wanderer range water bottles and dry bags mounted directly on the plate: this means that even when traveling without the side bag, the mount you have already installed on your motorcycle remains usable.

The shoulder strap is fixed and can be stored in the side pocket when the bag is mounted on the motorcycle. Once detached, the BCB12BK becomes a shoulder bag or can be carried by hand using the top handle, without having to transfer its contents to another piece of luggage.

Twelve liters fit a change of clothes, rain gear and tools, or a jet helmet. They are not the liters for someone leaving for two weeks, but they are what you need every day, and they fit in a bag that, when you get off the motorcycle, you can carry by hand or over your shoulder.

For long trips and demanding off-road riding, the LOBOO range includes the larger Alps side bags, with greater capacity and a declared IPX7 rating.

The LOBOO parameter panel states 38 × 29 × 14 cm, that is, 380 × 290 × 140 mm, for a capacity of 12 liters. The composition is cotton canvas, nylon, EVA foam, TPU, polyurethane, and polypropylene.

The manufacturer specifies that the measurements are taken by hand and may vary slightly. Weight and resistance to water and dust are not declared by any LOBOO source.

The manufacturer documents installation on very different motorcycles: the Honda CM500, a low, long cruiser, and the Triumph Scrambler 1200XE, which is much taller and has an exposed exhaust. Only the frame changes, while the bag and mounting plate remain the same.

That is also why compatibility must be checked against the frame, not the bag: the frame is what knows your motorcycle.
