Connecting an accessory directly to the battery means it remains powered even when the motorcycle is switched off, which could drain the battery. This adapter draws power from an original BMW switched power connector: the accessory turns on and off with the ignition, without clamps on the battery terminals.

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
