Description Top Case Plate for BMW C 400 X and C 400 GT from 2018

This is the plate that allows you to mount a top case on the rear of the C 400 X and C 400 GT, both from 2018 onward according to the manual. It attaches to the original mounting points of the rear subframe, with no drilling.

It is also the only one of the two C 400 plates compatible with the C 400 X.

How to install it

The package includes four 19 mm spacers, four M6×40 screws, four nuts, and four washers. The spacers go on the original mounting points, with the plate on top. Nothing needs to be removed from the motorcycle: the manual does not call for any removal.

The specified torque is 10 N·m, applied in sequence and only after completing all adjustments. Note: this is lower than the 12 N·m specified for the other plates in the range, so do not reuse the torque value from another part number from memory. The installation tool is not included: you need a 4 mm Allen key.

Which top cases can be mounted

The manual lists the PIKE TRACKER, TIBET and CONQUEROR series for this plate. The top case is not included: this page concerns the plate only, and LOBOO aluminum top cases can be mounted only on LOBOO plates and luggage racks.

If you have a 2024 or later C 400 GT

For the latest C 400 GT series, the dedicated part number is JPTC092W, which has its own page. If you are unsure which one you need, send us a photo of the motorcycle's rear area and we will confirm the part number before purchase.

The rear load has a limit

LOBOO does not specify a maximum load for the plate itself: the limit specified by BMW in the owner's manual applies, and includes the plate, top case, and contents. Check the fasteners again after the first 100–200 km and make sure the top case does not obscure the license plate or rear lights.

The plate material is not specified by any LOBOO source, including the manual.

The plate mounts directly to the rear subframe mounting points, with no drilling and without removing anything from the motorcycle. The manual lists it for both the C 400 GT and the C 400 X, from 2018 onward.

Note one detail: the tightening torque here is 10 N·m, lower than the 12 N·m specified for the other plates in the range. The wrench is not included either: a 4 mm Allen key is required.

There are two different LOBOO plates for the C 400, and the choice depends on the motorcycle's year.

This is the JPT091W2, which the manual lists for the C 400 X and C 400 GT from 2018 onward. It is also the only one of the two compatible with the C 400 X.

If you have a latest-generation C 400 GT, from 2024 onward, the dedicated code is the JPTC092W, on a separate page. A practical detail for scooter riders: on a vehicle you use every day, the plate stays mounted even without the top case and does not get in the way when you sit down.

The plate is the interface between the motorcycle and the top case: on its own, it is of no use, but without it, no LOBOO top case can be attached. The 45-liter PIKE TRACKER P45T fits onto this plate, available in matte black or glossy silver.

The top case is purchased separately, leaving you free to choose later: install the plate today and decide on the capacity once you know how much luggage you really carry.

A loaded top case sits much higher and farther back than the side cases. Every kilogram up there lightens the front end and amplifies the rear’s movements: that’s why a motorcycle loaded evenly on the sides remains neutral, while ten kilograms in the top case makes it nervous on the highway.

This isn’t an argument against using a top case, but for loading it properly: put lightweight, bulky items inside, such as a spare helmet, rain gear, and spare parts. Keep the tools and the real weight low down in the side cases.

Always respect the maximum load BMW specifies for the rear subframe: this includes the mounting plate, top case, and contents.

What’s the difference compared with the other plate for the C 400?

This JPT091W2 mounts to the subframe mounting points without removing anything from the motorcycle, and the manual lists it for the C 400 X and C 400 GT from 2018 onward. It is also the only one of the two compatible with the C 400 X.

The JPTC092W, on the other hand, is listed only for the C 400 GT from 2024 onward and is installed by removing six original screws from the rear section. If you are unsure of the model year, send us a photo of the rear area.

Which LOBOO top cases can I mount?

The manual lists the plate for the PIKE TRACKER, TIBET, and CONQUEROR series, each available in black or silver. The top case is not included and must be purchased separately.

LOBOO aluminum top cases can only be mounted on LOBOO plates and luggage racks; they are not compatible with supports from other brands.

Is the product covered by a warranty?
