My handlebar has a different inner diameter than 14 mm: will it fit?

The BTC-00 includes a single terminal size, for an internal diameter of 14 mm. This differs from the BSC-STD, which includes two. If your tube has a different internal diameter, contact us before ordering.

What do I need to buy if I’m starting from scratch?

Not this one. If you don't have anything yet, a complete mounting kit like the BHG-001, plus the BSS-00 clamp set for 28.5 mm handlebars, or a complete handguard, would be best.

Is my handlebar 22 mm or tapered: which code do I need?

For the 22 mm straight version, you need the BSC-STD, or the BTC-22 if you have limited space for the cables. For the tapered version, you need the BTC-06.

I broke a clamp while climbing: can I buy just this one?

Yes, and that’s one of the reasons it exists. Replace the damaged part and keep the bar and plastics.

Should I remove the counterweights?

Yes, because the system also anchors to the end of the handlebar using the included bar-end weights. The Barkbusters replacement for the bar-end weights is code B-066, listed in the catalog.

Do I need to recheck the tightening after installation?

Yes. Barkbusters asks you to check the tightness of all screws again after the first 50 km and recommends using a medium-strength threadlocker on all fasteners.

28.5 mm is the straight section of oversized off-road handlebars. The manufacturer specifically mentions the Renthal Twin Wall and its own VSBar: these are the two typical cases where this clamp is needed instead of the standard 22 mm one.

Be careful not to confuse it with the BSS-00

Two different codes for 28.5 mm handlebars. The BSS-00 is only the U-bolt set, to be added to an already purchased BHG-001 or EGO-201 kit. This BTC-00 is the complete clamp, including the terminals. Before ordering, check what you already have.

Come si monta

Verifica con un calibro che la sezione dritta del manubrio sia da 28,5 mm e che il diametro interno del tubo sia da 14 mm.
Rimuovi i contrappesi originali e, se necessario, i morsetti precedenti.
Monta il morsetto sulla sezione dritta, senza serrare.
Inserisci il terminale nell estremità aperta del manubrio.
Fissa la barra in alluminio al morsetto e al terminale, portala in posizione e serra.
Verifica il funzionamento di gas, freno anteriore, frizione e interruttore di arresto prima di partire, poi ricontrolla il serraggio dopo i primi 50 km.
