Description BMW R 1300 GS Radiator Guard

The LOBOO CHW131 radiator guard protects both side radiators of the BMW R 1300 GS from stones, insects, and debris. The package contains two panels, one for each side: both radiators are covered with a single purchase.

Honeycomb-perforated aluminum

Each panel is made from 2 mm aluminum alloy sheet with a honeycomb perforation: dense hexagons across the entire usable surface, a solid perimeter frame, and mounting tabs formed from the same piece. It measures 169.2 × 217.9 mm, and the stated weight is 220 grams.

LOBOO calls this geometry “air conduction design” and states that it accelerates airflow toward the radiator, improving heat dissipation. This is the manufacturer's claim, which we report as such: no public source provides a measured value.

Oxidation and sandblasted finish

The surface is treated with an oxidation and sandblasting process, giving it a matte texture that matches the motorcycle's finishes and resists corrosion and washing.

Installation without drilling

It attaches to the mounting points already present on the motorcycle. The manual calls for removing some original components to clear the work area, with reversible procedures: once installation is complete, the removed parts can be refitted. The parts list contains only the two panels, without hardware, because the original fasteners are reused.

The manufacturer advises against fully tightening everything immediately: make all adjustments first, then perform the final tightening using BMW's specified torque values for the original components. Installation is identical on the right and left sides.

Compatible motorcycles

BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 and R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024, with the same code. For the R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, the code is CHW082 instead.

Not to be confused with radiator covers: those are the carbon-fiber side coverings that replace the original plastics. They are a different product, are installed in a different location, and both products can be used together.
