LOBOO CJG131 handlebar riser pair for the BMW R 1300 GS: they raise the grip position by 29 mm and move it 29.5 mm closer to the rider, reducing strain on the wrists, shoulders, and back during long rides and making standing riding on the foot pegs feel more natural.

Compatible with the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward and the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024 onward.

Machined from high-strength aluminum alloy using CNC machinery, with a silver anodized finish. They install on the original handlebar mount without modifying the motorcycle.

The riser body features engraved reference marks at 0° and 10°: aligning them with the marks on the handlebar allows you to precisely reproduce the selected angle, even after some time.

After installation: check that the cables and brake and clutch lines have sufficient slack with the handlebars turned fully to both sides. This is the most important check when installing a riser and must never be skipped.

How much higher do these risers raise the handlebars?

Twenty-nine millimeters in height and twenty-nine and a half millimeters of setback toward the rider, according to the LOBOO technical panel. These measurements are fixed: there are no variants with different rises.

What can be adjusted is the handlebar rotation angle, thanks to the engraved marks at 0 and 10 degrees.

Will they also fit the R 1300 GS Adventure?

Yes. The CJG131 code covers the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 and the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024.

For the R 1250 GS and earlier GS models, you need the CJG071 code instead, which you can find on a dedicated page.

What is the purpose of raising the handlebar by 29 mm?

It reduces strain on the wrists, shoulders, and back during long rides, and improves control when riding standing up on dirt roads, where the original handlebar on the R 1300 GS is too low.

The 29.5 mm setback works together with the rise: the handlebar does not just move up, it also moves closer to your torso, which opens up the shoulders.

What are the 0- and 10-degree markings used for?

They are reference marks engraved on the riser that align with the marks already on the handlebar. They let you rotate the handlebar by a known, repeatable angle instead of doing it by eye.

It’s useful when you take it apart and put it back together, or if you want to try two angles and return to the one you liked better.

Will they fit if I’m 1.75 m tall? And what if I’m 1.90 m tall?

It’s not just a matter of height. Above 1.85 meters, the benefit is almost always noticeable, because the standard handlebar forces you to hunch your shoulders.

But shorter riders can also benefit if they often ride standing on the footpegs or experience wrist and neck pain on long journeys. If you’re comfortable and have never experienced any discomfort, you probably don’t need them.

Are longer cables or tubes needed after installation?

With a 29 mm rise, normally no, but it must be checked on a case-by-case basis: after installation, check that the cables and brake and clutch lines have sufficient slack with the steering turned fully to both sides.

This is the check that must never be skipped when installing a riser: nothing should be pulled tight, bind, or rub.

With the risers installed, does the tank bag still fit?

In most cases, yes, but the handlebar moves back by 29.5 mm, and on some configurations the space between the handlebar and the tank is reduced.

If you use a bulky tank bag or a centrally mounted navigation holder, after installation check the steering at full lock with the bag mounted and full.

Is the price for one or for the pair?

For the pair: the package contains the left and right risers, marked L and R on the body. That is all you need for the entire handlebar.

Are the two pieces identical?

No: the left riser and the right one are mirror images and are not interchangeable. The letters L and R, along with the code number 131, are engraved on each one.

It’s worth checking the references before starting, so you don’t end up having to take everything apart.

Do I need a mechanic, or can I install them myself?

It’s within reach of anyone with a torque wrench and basic mechanical skills: remove the handlebar’s upper clamps, position the risers on the original mount, and tighten everything back up.

A torque wrench is really essential because these are the screws that secure the handlebar. LOBOO does not specify torque values for this product code: follow the values specified for your motorcycle’s clamps. Without the proper tool, it’s better to have a workshop do it.

What aluminum are they made of?

LOBOO states that it uses high-strength aluminum alloy machined with a CNC machine and a silver anodized finish, but does not specify the alloy designation.

We prefer to report the information as stated by the manufacturer rather than provide a designation that no source confirms.

Does it change anything about the ride besides comfort?

The higher, closer handlebar makes riding upright feel more natural, without forcing the body to lean forward, and provides a more immediate sense of control during slow maneuvers.

This is not a modification to the chassis: the geometry, suspension, and braking system remain unchanged.

Can I return to the original setup?

Yes. Installation is carried out on the original handlebar mount and requires no drilling, cutting, or permanent modifications: reinstall the standard clamps and the motorcycle returns to its original condition.
