Description Carbon Radiator Covers for BMW R 1300 GS | 180 g per pair, GS logo stickers in 4 colors

On the sides of the R 1300 GS, next to the radiator, there are two decorative plastic panels with the GS logo. The LOBOO CSB131 covers replace them with two pieces made of real carbon fiber: the same mounting points, the same original screws, a different front design, and about half the weight.

Why choose the LOBOO CSB131 radiator covers

  • 180 g per pair versus the original 350 g. The manufacturer states a direct comparison with the stock panels: about 170 g less, just under half the weight.
  • Real carbon fiber, not a carbon-look finish. The weave is the material itself, not a printed film: it is visible up close and does not peel off.
  • GS logo stickers in four colors included. The package contains four shaped stickers per side, in white, light blue, orange, and yellow. Choose the color that matches your bike, or leave the carbon bare.

Installation

The LOBOO manual describes eight steps, four per side. Unscrew the two original screws securing the stock decorative panel and remove it. Clean the exposed surface with the included isopropyl alcohol wipe. Apply the stickers in the indicated area, position the carbon cover, and reinstall the original screws, tightening them to 3 N·m.

The manual recommends not fully tightening the screws immediately: first complete the positioning, then tighten them in sequence to the specified value. Keep the original panels if you plan to resell the bike in its stock configuration.

Not to be confused with the radiator guard

This is the side aesthetic cover. The LOBOO CHW131 radiator guard is instead the mesh that protects the radiator core from gravel and debris. They are two different products, cover different areas, and both can be installed.

Be careful not to confuse them with the radiator guard: that is the mesh that protects the radiator core from debris. These are different products, for different areas, and both can be installed.

Do they replace the original panels, or are they mounted over them?

They replace them. Remove the two standard decorative panels by unscrewing two screws on each side, then install the carbon-fiber covers in their place using the same screws.

Will they fit the R 1300 GS Adventure?

No. The LOBOO installation manual and specification sheet list only the R 1300 GS from 2023 onward. The Adventure has different side panels, and there is a separate product for that motorcycle: if you have an Adventure, contact us before ordering.

How much do they weigh compared to the originals?

About 180 g per pair, compared with approximately 350 g for the original panels. This is a comparison stated by the manufacturer and measured manually, so it should be considered an indicative value.

Is it real carbon fiber or just a carbon-fiber effect?

It is real carbon fiber, declared by the manufacturer as the primary material. It is neither a printed film nor a carbon-fiber-effect coating applied to plastic.

Is the glossy finish better, or the matte one?

It depends on the effect you're looking for: the glossy finish reflects light and highlights the texture, while the matte finish is more understated and blends better with dark liveries. Technically, they're identical; only the appearance differs, along with the fact that the glossy finish shows dust and fingerprints more easily.

Are they the same thing as the radiator grille?

No, they are two different products. These are the aesthetic side covers that replace the decorative panels; the radiator grille is the mesh that protects the radiator core from gravel and debris. They cover different areas and both can be installed.

Do they protect the radiator from stones?

That is not their function. They replace a decorative panel and cover the same area as the original: if you are looking for protection for the radiator core, you need the radiator grille, which is a separate item.

How do you clean them?

With water and mild detergent. Avoid solvents and abrasive products, which dull the carbon finish, and do not use a pressure washer too close to the edges of the decals.

Can I switch back to the original panels?

Yes, just reinstall the stock ones using the same screws. Keep them if you think you might resell the motorcycle in its original configuration: the modification leaves no marks on the motorcycle.
