Description IPX6 Waterproof Motorcycle Rear Bag, 40 to 90 L

The LOBOO BWB Series Waterproof Rear Case combines large capacity with water resistance: a technical PVC body with seamless high-frequency welds, a patented magnetic roll-top closure, and rated IPX6 protection. Four capacities: 40, 50, 66, and 90 liters.

The front air-release valve expels excess air after closing: the load compresses, and the case remains stable on the seat even when it is not full. This is why a large, partially filled case does not become bulky.

Three ways to secure it

The LOBOO manual documents three procedures: two using the included quick-release straps, attached to the fixed mounting points on the sides of the tail section, and a third that routes the lid buckles through non-elastic third-party straps if you prefer your own fastening system.

Good to know: IPX6 means protection against water jets, not immersion. The roll-top must be rolled down for several complete turns and closed with both buckles before riding.

Who is it recommended for

How to choose the volume:

  • 40 L and 50 L: The everyday companion. An overnight trip, a short weekend, day trips.
  • 66 L: The touring size. It's the right balance for a five to seven-day trip.
  • 90 L: For those who don't know what "traveling light" means, or are going on a multi-week expedition. It has the same base as the 66 L: it only grows in height.

Thanks to the bleed valve, the larger volume, when not fully filled, doesn't become bulky: if you're undecided between two sizes, the larger one gives you more leeway without penalizing you on short trips.

Four colors: Black and military green if you prefer to go unnoticed, yellow and fluorescent green if you want to be seen. On the latter two, the reflective inserts work together with the background color, and at night the difference from behind is noticeable.

A detachable shoulder strap and two quick-release straps are included with every version: the bag can also be carried by hand once you get off the motorcycle.

Usage and notes

  • Manufacturer-declared protection rating: IPX6. Covers heavy rain, high-pressure water jets, and dust, but not immersion.
  • Roll the roll-top for several full turns and fasten both buckles: the seal depends on the closure, not just the fabric.
  • After closing, use the front valve to expel air: this improves the seal and stability on the motorcycle.
  • Cleaning (manufacturer's instructions):Damp soft cloth and neutral soap after each use. Bleach, fabric softener, and acidic or alkaline detergents are prohibited; machine washing, ironing, dry cleaning, and artificial drying are prohibited. Allow to dry naturally and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
  • Storage:In a dry and cool environment to prevent mold, periodically cleaning dust and dirt from the surface.
  • Before riding, check the handle, shoulder strap, and quick-release straps. Do not use insect repellents on the fabric and avoid contact with sharp objects: they would compromise waterproofing.
  • The load must not cover the license plate and rear lights or protrude beyond the limits set by the Highway Code.
  • The manufacturer's warranty is 12 months and is a conventional supplement: it does not replace the 24-month legal warranty of conformity provided for the consumer.

Three layers: odorless eco-friendly PVC on the outside, a 500D mesh core, and PVC on the inside. The seams are welded rather than sewn, so there are no needle holes to seal. The manufacturer states that the bag body has an IPX6 rating.

The magnetic strip is integrated into the edge and aligns the two flaps before you roll them together: closing it becomes a single gesture, even with gloves. The seal still relies on rolling and buckles, as with any dry bag.

What capacity should I choose?

It depends on how much space you have in the back and how many days you’ll be away. The stated dimensions are: 40 L 53 × 27 × 28 cm, 50 L 58 × 29 × 30 cm, 66 L 64 × 31.5 × 33.5 cm, 90 L 64 × 39 × 36.5 cm. The 40 L is enough for a weekend, the 66 L is the size for a long trip, and the 90 L is only worthwhile if you have a large luggage rack: it’s the same width as the 66 L, but takes up more vertical space.

How much does it weigh?

1.96 kg for 40 L, 2.21 kg for 50 L, 2.40 kg for 66 L, and 2.57 kg for 90 L. These are the empty weights stated by the manufacturer.

Is it truly waterproof?

The manufacturer states an IPX6 rating for the bag body: odorless eco-friendly PVC with a 500D mesh core, welded instead of sewn, and a magnetic roll-top closure. One important clarification: the external side pocket is not waterproof and has a drainage hole at the bottom, so do not put documents or electronics in it.

What’s in the package?

The bag in the selected size and color, four quick-release fastening straps, a detachable shoulder strap, and an identification tag to fill in with your details and an emergency contact. You don't need to buy anything else to install it.

How is it attached to the motorcycle?

With the four included quick-release strapsthat attach to the buckles on the front, back, and sides: wrap the strap around the luggage rack or frame and fasten it. The D-rings are also compatible with the traditional straps you already have, so you can use your preferred fastening system.

What is the round valve on the front used for?

It is a vent valve. After closing the roll-top, open it to let the air out: the bag becomes more compact, loses unnecessary volume, and stays more securely in place under the straps. This is the right way to pack it when it is half empty.

Can I carry it by hand when I get off the motorcycle?

Yes, in three ways: using the top handles, with the included detachable shoulder strap, or strapped to the motorcycle. It is designed to be detached and carried into a hotel without having to transfer the luggage.

Is there a way to separate the wet clothes?

Yes, inside there is a dedicated pocket for separating dry and wet items. There is also a side pocket on the outside for items you need quick access to, but it is not waterproof.

Is it visible at night?

Yes, it has high-visibility reflective strips. On a rear bag, they matter more than anywhere else because they are at the height of the headlights of those following you and make the motorcycle’s perceived silhouette wider.

How much weight can it hold?

LOBOO states that the material can support up to 200 kg, but this refers to the fabric’s strength, not the bag’s load capacity: the maximum load capacity is not specified. The practical limit is determined by your motorcycle’s luggage rack or frame, and that is the limit you should observe.

Does the magnetic closure really hold?

The magnetic strip is integrated into the edge of the roll-top and helps the two sides align before rolling them up: the seal is still provided by rolling it up and fastening the buckles, as with any dry bag. The magnet makes the operation quicker and more consistent, and it is covered by a utility model patent filed by LOBOO.

What colors is it available in?

Black, yellow, military green, and neon green, in all four capacities. Availability for each color and size combination can be found in the selector above.

How is it cleaned and stored?

Dampen a cloth with mild soap and wipe the PVC surface, then air-dry. Avoid solvents and abrasive products. Store it dry and avoid keeping it rolled along the same fold for extended periods, to prevent marking the material at the closure point.
