The two measurements should be considered together because they do different things. The 23-millimeter rise lifts the grip point and changes the angle of your wrists. The 20-millimeter setback shortens the distance to the grips, and your shoulders no longer stay hunched forward.

In practice, they amount to just over two centimeters each, but they fall in exactly the right place: you feel the difference after the first hour in the saddle and every time you stand on the footpegs.

Viewed from the side, it’s clear how it works: the handlebar clamp isn’t positioned directly above the mounting point but shifted backward. That geometry brings the bars twenty millimeters closer while raising them by twenty-three.

A straight riser would only have raised your arms, leaving them stretched forward anyway.

LOBOO specifies two applications for this riser: the BMW F750GS from 2018 and the BMW F800GS from 2025. The steering plates of the two motorcycles share the same mounting hole spacing, and the same part works on both.

The F850GS, F900GS, and Adventure versions are not listed; for those, the manufacturer specifies a different part number. If you have one of those motorcycles, contact us before ordering and we’ll provide the correct part number.

The two risers are mirror images and are not interchangeable: installing them the wrong way around places the setback on the wrong side. That is why LOBOO engraves the letters L and R on the body of each one, clearly visible even when installed.

The body is CNC-machined, with the holes positioned according to the original center-to-center spacing of the steering plate. No adaptation or play to compensate for during installation.

The riser supports the handlebar and, when riding standing up, much of the rider’s upper-body weight: it is a load-bearing component, not a spacer. LOBOO states that it is made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy and is silver in color.

The alloy designation and type of surface treatment are not stated by the manufacturer for this code, and we prefer not to specify one that no source confirms.

The risers replace the original clamps: the handlebar you reinstall is your own, and the controls, grips, bar-end weights, and handguards remain in place.

From the outside, little changes are noticeable: two silver aluminum blocks above the triple clamp, matching the standard components. The rider notices the difference immediately.

With twenty-three millimeters, the slack in the original cables is normally sufficient, but you should still check: with the motorcycle stationary, turn the handlebars fully to both sides and inspect the cables, brake lines, and clutch line. Nothing should become taut, catch, or rub.

With the setback, one additional check is needed: the handlebars move two centimeters closer to the tank, so make sure they do not touch it with the steering turned fully, including the tank bag if you use one. Then recheck the fasteners after the first one or two hundred kilometers.
