Description LOBOO Handlebar Riser for BMW F 850 GS and F 900 GS | 19 mm Rise + 25 mm Setback

Pair of LOBOO handlebar risers CJG033 that move the grip position 19 mm higher and 25 mm closer to the rider.

It is the only riser in the LOBOO range where the setback exceeds the rise, and there is a precise reason for this choice: on mid-displacement GS models, the problem is almost never height—it is distance. Your arms remain stretched forward, your shoulders round inward, and your upper-body weight ends up on your wrists.

Bringing the handlebar two and a half centimeters closer lets you sit more into the seat instead of reaching toward the controls. The 19 mm rise completes the adjustment to the wrist angle and makes standing on the foot pegs feel natural.

The body is made from CNC-machined aluminum alloy and finished with anodizing in silver, matching the BMW steering plate.

Compatible with BMW F 850 GS from 2021, F 850 GS Adventure from 2019, F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure from 2025.

Check after installation: turn the steering to full lock on both sides and make sure the cables, brake lines, and clutch lines do not pull or rub, and that the handlebar does not touch the fuel tank.

Why choose it
Who is it recommended for

The problem isn't the height; it's the distance

The problem isn't the height; it's the distance

On mid-displacement GS models, discomfort after a few hours rarely comes from the handlebars being too low. It comes from them being too far forward: your arms stay extended, your shoulders hunch, and your upper-body weight ends up on your wrists.

That’s why LOBOO reversed the priorities for this product: setback takes precedence over rise.

Twenty-five back, nineteen up

Twenty-five back, nineteen up

It is the only riser in the LOBOO range where the setback exceeds the rise. Twenty-five millimetres shorten the distance to the grips: you sit further into the saddle instead of stretching towards the controls.

The nineteen-millimetre rise completes the adjustment to the wrist angle and makes riding while standing feel natural. Together, they change your posture without drastically altering the position of the controls.

CNC-machined aluminum

CNC-machined aluminum

The riser supports the handlebar and, when riding standing up, much of the rider’s upper-body weight: it is a load-bearing component, not a spacer. LOBOO states that it is made from CNC-machined aluminum alloy for a precise fit on the steering plate.

The alloy designation is not disclosed by the manufacturer, and we prefer not to specify one that no source confirms.

Anodized silver, like the plate

Anodized silver, like the plate

Anodization is not a layer resting on top of the metal like paint: it is a conversion of the aluminum surface itself. It does not chip at the first impact from a wrench during installation and withstands winter salt water better.

The silver matches the tone of the BMW steering plate: once installed, the risers look more like part of the motorcycle than an added accessory.

It mounts on the original mounting points

It mounts on the original mounting points

The risers fit between the triple clamp and the handlebar clamps using the existing mounting points: no drilling, no adaptations, no permanent modifications.

You can reverse the change whenever you want by reinstalling the stock clamps. This matters if the motorcycle is leased or if you plan to resell it.

How do they look when assembled?

How do they look when assembled?

Once installation is complete, the handlebar remains parallel to its original position: the risers raise and pull it back without tilting it, and the controls do not change position relative to your hands. The grips, bar-end weights, mirrors, and handguards all remain in place.

The profile follows the line of the top yoke and has the same color: it is barely noticeable from the outside, but immediately apparent from the saddle.

Four models, and a detail about the years

Four models, and a detail about the years

The same riser fits the BMW F 850 GS, F 850 GS Adventure, F 900 GS, and F 900 GS Adventure. However, the years are not the same for all models: the F 850 GS is covered from 2021, the Adventure from 2019, and the F 900 models from 2025.

If you have an F 750 GS or an F 800 GS, you need code CJG031 instead, which you can find on a dedicated page.

There are two controls here

There are two controls here

The first is the usual one: turn the handlebars fully to both sides, checking that the cables and brake and clutch lines neither pull tight nor rub.

The second concerns the setback: with 25 mm, the handlebar comes closer to the tank than with any other riser in the range. Check that it does not make contact with the steering fully turned, including the tank bag if you use one. Then recheck the fasteners after the first one or two hundred kilometres.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Will they fit my motorcycle? Which models and years?

LOBOO declares four applications: BMW F 850 GS from 2021, F 850 GS Adventure from 2019, F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure from 2025.

Pay attention to the years for the F 850 GS: the base version is covered from 2021, while the Adventure has been covered since 2019. For the F 750 GS and F 800 GS, you need code CJG031, which you can find on a dedicated page.

How far does the handlebar move?

Nineteen millimeters in height and twenty-five millimeters of setback toward the rider. These are fixed measurements: there are no variants with different dimensions or adjustments after installation.

It is the only riser in the LOBOO range where the setback exceeds the rise: here, the handlebar moves toward you more than it rises.

Is this better, or a riser that only raises it?

It depends on what you feel in the saddle. If the problem is that you find yourself leaning forward, with your arms extended and shoulders hunched, the setback is what you need: 25 mm shortens the distance to the grips.

If you simply feel too low, a riser that raises the handlebars more would be more suitable. This product is designed to correct reach more than height.

Do I need to lengthen the cables, brake lines, or clutch lines?

With a 19 mm rise, the slack in the original cables is normally sufficient, and LOBOO does not provide replacements. However, you should still check this on your motorcycle.

There is one additional check here: with 25 mm of setback, the handlebar moves closer to the tank, so when the steering is turned fully, make sure it does not come into contact.

With the risers installed, does the tank bag still fit?

This is the most important check for this code: the handlebar moves back by 25 mm, so the clearance to the tank is reduced by two and a half centimeters.

If you use a large tank bag or a centrally mounted navigation device holder, after installation check the steering at full lock with the bag fitted and fully loaded.

Will they fit if I’m 1.75 m tall? And what if I’m 1.90 m tall?

On a riser with this geometry, torso and arm length matter more than height: the main benefit is the setback, which shortens the reach to the handlebars.

If you find yourself stretched forward with your shoulders hunched, they work well even if you are not particularly tall.

Is the price for one or for the pair?

For the pair: you receive both risers, which is everything needed for the entire handlebar.

What’s in the package?

The two risers with the mounting hardware. LOBOO does not publish a detailed parts list for this code, and we prefer to tell you that rather than list undocumented components.

If you need confirmation of the individual parts before ordering, contact us and we’ll ask the distributor.

Do I need a mechanic, or can I install them myself?

It is within the reach of anyone with a torque wrench and a basic level of mechanical skill: remove the upper handlebar clamps, place the risers between them, and tighten everything back up.

The torque wrench is genuinely necessary because these are the bolts that secure the handlebar. LOBOO does not publish torque values for this part number, so the values specified by BMW must be followed. Without the tool, it is better to have a workshop do it.

Does the original handlebar remain the same?

Yes. Risers do not replace the handlebar: they fit between the top plate and the clamps, repositioning the one you already have. The controls, grips, bar-end weights, and handguards remain where they are.

Does it change anything about the ride besides comfort?

The handlebar positioned closer moves your torso slightly backward and makes riding while standing more natural, since you do not need to lean forward to reach the grips. At low speeds, it provides a more immediate sense of control.

This is not a chassis modification: the geometry, suspension, and braking system remain original.

Can I return to the original setup?

Yes. The risers mount to the original mounting points without permanent modifications: reinstall the stock clamps, and the motorcycle returns to its original configuration.

What material are they made of?

LOBOO states that it is made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy with a silver anodized finish. The manufacturer does not specify the alloy designation, and we prefer not to provide one that no source confirms.
