Description 4 mm aluminum skid plate for BMW R 1300 GS and GS Adventure

The LOBOO CHB131 skid plate is an under-engine protection plate for the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward and the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024 onward. It shields the oil pan and lower part of the engine from gravel and impacts coming from below on dirt roads and ramps.

It is made from 4 mm high-strength aluminum alloy, formed as a single piece with reinforcing welds and finished with black hard anodizing. It weighs 1662 g.

How it is made

  • Vibration-damping rubber mounts at the attachment points: according to LOBOO, they reduce impacts and vibration noise.
  • Recessed bolt seats: the heads remain protected in the event of an impact.
  • Oil drain hole: the oil can be changed without removing the plate.
  • No modifications to the motorcycle: LOBOO developed it using the original R 1300 GS data.

Will it fit my motorcycle?

The LOBOO installation manual and specification sheet list the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward and the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024 onward. In its compatibility reference, LOBOO specifies that it installs together with the original BMW engine protection mount: if you are not sure about your motorcycle's equipment, contact us with the trim level and year before ordering.

The skid plate, one bracket, four spacers, four rubber mounts, four washers, four M6 × 30 bolts, and threadlocker. Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m only after all the parts have been positioned.

Yes: the LOBOO installation manual and parameter sheet specify the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 and the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024.

Is the original engine guard bracket required?

In its compatibility reference, LOBOO indicates that the skid plate is installed together with the original BMW engine guard mount. The manual shows the removal of a component beneath the engine and the installation of the supplied bracket. If you are unsure about your motorcycle’s equipment, send us its configuration and year before ordering.

What is it like?

How is it assembled?

The manual involves three steps: remove the original component marked in red beneath the engine, install the supplied bracket, and secure the skid plate at four points, each with a spacer, rubber grommet, washer, and M6 × 30 screw. The removed original parts must be reinstalled according to the torque specifications indicated by BMW.

What torque should the screws be tightened to?

The four M6 × 30 screws are tightened to 8 N·m. The manual specifies not to tighten them immediately: first make all the adjustments, then tighten them in sequence to the specified torque.

Does the motorcycle need to be modified?

No. LOBOO developed it based on the original R 1300 GS data, and it does not require modifications to the motorcycle’s structure.

Does it need to be monitored over time?

Yes: the manual asks you to regularly check the fastening screws of all components.

Is there an assembly video?

Yes, the LOBOO manual includes a QR code that links to the installation video.

Is the product covered by a warranty?

Yes: all LOBOO products sold on Endurrad are covered by the 24-month statutory consumer warranty. In the event of a lack of conformity, we will handle the claim with the manufacturer.

Can I return it if it isn’t suitable?

Yes, you are entitled to return it within 14 days of receiving the last item in the order. The wheel cover must be intact, unused, and in its original packaging: contact us and we will guide you through the procedure.
