On a touring bike with saddlebags, the rear light sits lower and narrower than the rider behind you expects. This kit mounts two B6 pods on the rear fender supports, placing the light right in the space between the saddlebags and the fender.

A total of 1,740 lumens distributed across the width of the motorcycle, dual circuit — running light at 50%, brake light at 100% — twelve LEDs in total, 1 A draw, IP67 rating.

Manufacturer-stated compatibility: Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Limited, Electra Glide Ultra Classic and Electra Glide Standard 2014-2019, Road King 2014-2019, Road Glide Ultra 2015-2019, Softail Heritage Classic 2011-2019, Sport Glide 2018-2019. Outside these models and years, the mounts do not line up with the mounting points.

Who is it recommended for

A chi gira carico. Con le borse montate, un passeggero o un carico dietro, il fanale originale è proprio nella condizione in cui si vede meno. È lì che due moduli larghi e alti cambiano qualcosa di concreto.

A chi ha una delle touring o custom in elenco. I supporti sfruttano i punti di fissaggio del parafango originale, quindi non si fora niente e il montaggio resta reversibile.

Quando conviene un altro kit. Se la moto gira quasi sempre scarica e senza borse, il guadagno è più contenuto: una singola luce freno B6 a portatarga costa meno e copre lo stesso bisogno.

Where those who follow you really watch

On a touring bike, the stock rear light sits low and narrow, obscured by the panniers and whatever you carry on top. The two B6 modules mount on the fender brackets, in the clear space between the pannier and fender that remains visible even when the rest of the rear is covered. The light spreads across the motorcycle’s silhouette instead of staying concentrated in a single spot.

Each module operates on two circuits: position light at 50 percent while riding, brake light at 100 percent when braking, synchronized with the original light. Twelve LEDs in total provide 1,740 lumens per pair, with a 180-degree viewing angle, so the light remains visible even to those riding alongside you. Total draw is 1 A.

Each pod measures approximately 112 x 28 x 11 mm and has a low-profile design: when mounted, it stays within the motorcycle's outline and does not protrude beyond the bags. IP67 waterproof housing, powered by 12 V DC. The dimensioned drawing shows exactly how much space is required.

How do you connect it?

The pod has three wires: ground, running light, and brake light. It connects to the motorcycle’s brake-light circuit using the included Posi-Tap connectors, or directly to a CANsmart control unit with the pre-installed waterproof connector. For many motorcycles, a specific wiring harness is also available, eliminating the need for any splicing.

What changes when connecting it to a CANsmart controller?

Two functions are unlocked that aren't available with the direct connection: programmable brake flashing, which makes braking much more noticeable to those behind you, and automatic activation of the brake light during deceleration, even when you slow down using engine braking without touching the brakes.

Do you need a CANsmart control unit?

No, the kit also works without one: the modules connect to the motorcycle's original brake-light circuit. However, if a CANsmart controller is already installed, they must be connected to its dedicated circuit rather than the original wires. In that case, the B6 gains the controller's smart functions, including flashing sequences.

Premium upgrade on my BMW GS
