The CANsmart controller for earlier-generation BMWs: it uses the motorcycle’s CANbus to control up to four accessories from the original buttons, without adding handlebar switches or loose relays under the seat. It plugs into the factory connectors: no cutting or drilling required.

Four circuits rated at 10 A continuous each, 30 A total, preconfigured for two sets of DENALI auxiliary lights, a SoundBomb horn, and the B6 brake light, but all fully configurable through the CANsmart Accessory Manager software, along with dozens of other settings.

Compatible motorcycles: F 650 GS Twin 2008-2012, F 700 GS 2013-2018, F 800 GS 2008-2018, F 800 GS Adventure 2014-2018, F 800 GT 2013-2019, F 800 R 2009-2018, F 800 S 2006-2010, F 800 ST 2006-2013, K 1200 GT 2006-2008, K 1300 GT 2007-2010, K 1300 S 2009-2016.

Be careful not to confuse it with other versions: the 2019-on F 850 and F 750 GS use the DNLWHS11702, the R 1250 GS and R 1200 LC use the DNLWHS11602, and the R 1300 GS uses the DNLWHS25900.

Who is it recommended for

A chi ha una F 800 GS, una F 700 GS o una K 1300 e vuole aggiungere faretti, clacson o altri accessori senza riempire la moto di relè. Utile anche a chi ne ha già montati negli anni e vuole rifare l'impianto in modo pulito.

Attenzione al modello: le F 850 e F 750 GS dal 2019 usano il DNLWHS11702, non questo. R 1250 GS e R 1200 LC usano il DNLWHS11602, la R 1300 GS il DNLWHS25900.

Four accessories controlled by the Wonder Wheel

The control unit connects to the motorcycle’s CAN bus and provides four circuits for accessories. From then on, auxiliary lights, the horn, and the brake light can be switched on, switched off, and adjusted using the BMW Wonder Wheel, with no additional switches on the handlebar and no loose relays under the seat.

By connecting the control unit to the computer with the included micro USB cable, the CANsmart Accessory Manager software opens up dozens of settings: flashing with the high beams, strobing with the horn, automatic shutoff with the turn signals, an electronic fuse for each circuit, five-level heated clothing control, and activation only when the engine is running.

Is it compatible with my BMW?

This control unit covers the previous generation: F 650 GS Twin 2008–2012, F 700 GS 2013–2018, F 800 GS 2008–2018, F 800 GS Adventure 2014–2018, F 800 GT 2013–2019, F 800 R 2009–2018, F 800 S 2006–2010, F 800 ST 2006–2013, K 1200 GT 2006–2008, K 1300 GT 2007–2010, K 1300 S 2009–2016. For the F 850 and F 750 GS from 2019 onward, DNLWHS11702 is required; for the R 1250 GS and R 1200 LC, use DNLWHS11602.

What’s the difference between GEN I and GEN II?

This is the GEN II, with more available current and more settings. DENALI stopped developing new features for GEN I devices in February 2024: if you find a cheaper GEN I controller out there, be aware that it no longer receives updates.

Do you need to know how to work on the electrical system?

No. The control unit plugs into the motorcycle’s original connectors: nothing needs to be cut or drilled. The part requiring the most attention is reaching the connection point, which is located differently on each model: the official DENALI manual shows it step by step.

Can I connect non-DENALI accessories to it?

Yes. The four circuits come preconfigured for DENALI accessories, but each can be reconfigured through the software and supports 10 A continuously: you can connect a USB socket, GPS, dashcam, heated grips, or any other accessory within that limit.
