Description LOBOO BTB20BK – Adventure 10L Tank Bag with Magnetic Quick Release

The LOBOO BTB20BK is a 10-liter tank bag from the Expedition series, made of 1680D ballistic nylon, designed for adventure and sport-touring. It weighs 914 g and measures 30 × 36.5 × 21.5 cm.

How it's actually mounted

It doesn't rest on the tank and has no magnets that grip the metal. It attaches to a flange bolted onto the fuel cap ring, and the system uses a double lock: the magnetic base centers and holds the bag, while four attachment points secure it in place. The material of the tank—metal, plastic, or aluminum—is irrelevant.

The flange is model-specific and sold separately. The base slides 108 mm back and forth to allow for handlebar movement: simply operate the quick-release lever, position the bag, and close it. A minimum of 70 mm between the handlebar mount and the fuel cap is required.

Key Features

  • 10 liters — 30 × 36.5 × 21.5 cm, 914 g
  • 1680D ballistic nylon with a structure that maintains its shape even when empty
  • Magnetic base and four attachment points: place it and attach it, pull back and lift to remove it
  • 108 mm of front-back adjustment with a quick-release lever
  • Custom YKK zippers and MOLLE system on the back for modular accessories
  • Charging cable pass-through and base pocket for documents and keys
  • Side reflective strips for night riding

What you need to know before ordering

  • The flange is not included: it must be chosen based on the motorcycle model and year, and ordered separately
  • The bag-flange combination has been verified on twelve models from BMW, Honda, Suzuki, CFMOTO, and Kove. The complete list, with the flange code for each, is in the product details
  • For Honda NX400 and NX500, there are two different flanges depending on the installed cap: count the holes before ordering
  • LOBOO does not declare any IP rating for the bag: rain protection is provided by the included cover

Full technical specifications, flange list, assembly instructions, delivery, and warranty details are below.

Why choose it
  • Release in one motion:magnetic base that centers the bag and four attachment points that hold it. At the pump, it comes off without unbuckling anything, because there's nothing to unbuckle.
  • 108 mm of front-to-back adjustment:the base slides to free the steering, then locks with the quick-release lever.
  • 1680D ballistic nylon:high tensile and abrasion resistance, with a structure that maintains its shape even when the bag is empty.
  • YKK zips and top MOLLE system:reliable opening with gloves and the possibility of attaching modular accessories on the back.
  • Charging cable grommet and bottom pocket:the cable exits through the dedicated hole, documents and keys remain in a separate compartment.
  • Side reflective stripsand rain cover included.
Who is it recommended for

The BTB20BK does not rest on the tank: it magnetically attaches to a flange screwed onto the cap crown. The flange is model-specific and must be purchased separately. The tank material - metal or plastic - does not matter.

Verified motorcycles and corresponding flange

  • BMW R 1250 GS Adventure (2021) — flange 081
  • BMW R 1300 GS (2023-) and R 1300 GS Adventure (2024-) — flange 131
  • Honda CB400X (2021), NX400 (2024-), NX500 (2026-) — flange 281, for original 7-hole caps
  • Honda CB500X (2020-) — flange 291, for original 5-hole caps
  • Honda CRF 1100L Africa Twin (2020-) and XL750 Transalp (2024-) — flange 321
  • Suzuki V-Strom 800DE (2023-) — flange 391
  • CFMOTO 800 MT (2021-) — flange 601
  • Kove 625X (2025-) — flange 633

For NX400 and NX500, there are two different flanges depending on the installed cap: count the holes before ordering.

If your motorcycle is not listed here, please send us the make, model, and year: the flanges cover many more motorcycles than these, but the pairing with the BTB20BK is only verified on the models in the list. Also, at least 70 mm is needed between the handlebar attachment and the fuel tank cap.

Documents and manufacturer

Before ordering

  • Identify the correct flange for your model and year: it is a separate item, and the bag cannot be mounted without it.
  • Measure at least 70 mm between the handlebar mount and the tank cap. Handlebar risers reduce this space.
  • For Honda NX400 and NX500, count the holes on the cap ring: five or seven changes the flange.

Assembly and use

  • Screw the flange onto the cap ring following the official LOBOO installation guide, observing the tightening torques.
  • Adjust the position of the base with the quick-release lever and check the steering at full lock on both sides, with the bag loaded.
  • Before every departure, and especially on unpaved roads, ensure that the bag is fully seated on the flange and that the four attachment points are in place.
  • Mount the rain cover before it starts to rain: the bag does not have a declared IP rating.
  • Keep cards with magnetic strips and mechanical watches away from the magnetic base.

Manufacturer

Original LOBOO product, Expedition Series. Manufacturer code BTB20BK, SKU LOBOO 11.4.04020.001.11.

A note on the official naming:the manufacturer's commercial name contains the word "universal" and mentions KTM models. However, the LOBOO technical documentation and the distributor's price list agree on a precise list of twelve motorcycles, and for no KTM is there currently a mounting flange compatible with this bag. On Endurrad we publish the verified list, not the commercial name.

Warranty

All LOBOO products sold on Endurrad are covered by the 24-month legal guarantee of conformity provided for consumers, according to current legislation. In case of a lack of conformity, contact us: we will handle the claim with the manufacturer.

How does it work, in detail?

Magnetic base and four attachment points

Magnetic base and four attachment points

The system uses a dual-lock design. The magnetic base automatically brings the bag into alignment and centers it on the flange, so you don’t have to aim; four attachment points at the corners of the plate then lock it securely in place.

There are no straps or buckles to fasten. And the magnets never touch the tank: they work between the bag and the flange bolted onto the fuel cap ring.

Attaches and detaches in one second

Attaches and detaches in one second

To attach it: align the bag over the flange and set it down; the magnets do the rest. To remove it: pull it backward until you feel resistance, then lift it.

You can do it with one hand while wearing gloves. At the gas station, it’s the difference between two seconds and two minutes spent undoing straps.

108 mm of travel to free up the steering response

108 mm of travel to free up the steering response

The magnetic base slides 108 millimetres back and forth along its rail. Operate the quick-release lever, move the bag to a position that does not interfere with the handlebars, and close it again.

After each adjustment, test the steering at full lock on both sides with the bag loaded.

The flange: the part you need to choose

The flange: the part you need to choose

The flange screws onto the fuel tank cap ring and is specific to the model and year. It must be purchased separately: without it, the bag cannot be mounted.

Eight codes cover the twelve models verified across BMW, Honda, Suzuki, CFMOTO, and Kove. Note one detail: on the Honda NX400 and NX500, the flange varies depending on the fitted cap, with either five or seven holes. Count the screws on your motorcycle before ordering.

At least 70 mm of clearance is required between the handlebar and the cap.

At least 70 mm of clearance is required between the handlebar and the cap.

This is the requirement LOBOO imposes across its entire tank bag range: there must be at least 70 millimeters between the handlebar stem and the edge of the cap. Below that measurement, the bag interferes with the steering even when using the full range of adjustment.

Measure with a tape measure before ordering, and take into account any handlebar risers already installed: they move the stem backward and reduce the available space.

1680D ballistic nylon and reflective side panels

1680D ballistic nylon and reflective side panels

1680D is the typical denier for heavy-duty work luggage: thick yarn with high tensile and abrasion resistance. The internal structure maintains its shape even when the bag is empty, so it does not collapse onto the tank when you unload it.

Reflective strips run along both sides: at night, you are visible even from the side, which is the direction cars approach from at intersections.

Charging cable pass-through and base pocket

Charging cable pass-through and base pocket

A dedicated side port lets the data cable out without forcing you to leave the zipper partially open: the power bank stays inside, while the phone remains connected on the handlebar mount.

At the base, there’s a compartment separate from the main section for your license, registration papers, and keys. You can access it without emptying the entire contents onto the tank.

YKK zipper and MOLLE system on the back

YKK zipper and MOLLE system on the back

The zippers are custom YKK, with oversized pulls that are easy to grip while wearing winter gloves. This is the component that fails first on a motorcycle bag, and no expense was spared here.

A grid of MOLLE webbing runs across the top: attach a phone holder, an action camera pouch, or a bottle holder to expand the bag without taking up interior space.

10 liters, 914 grams, the exact measurements

10 liters, 914 grams, the exact measurements

Ten liters of capacity in 30 centimeters of width, 36.5 of length, and 21.5 of height, weighing 914 grams empty, excluding the flange. The stated materials are EVA, nylon, polyester, and PVC.

The dimensions are measured manually by the manufacturer and should be read with a tolerance of a few millimeters.

Rain cover included

Rain cover included

The package includes a rain cover with a water-repellent coating and sealed seams, which slips over the bag and tightens with the drawstring.

It is the protection specified by LOBOO; no IP rating is declared for the bag itself. The 1680D nylon withstands splashes and light rain; in a storm, the cover should be fitted.

What’s included in the package

What’s included in the package

The bag with the magnetic plate already mounted on the bottom, the rain cover, a Summit sticker, and a Vintage keychain.

Not included in the package and must be ordered separately: the specific tank-cap flange for your motorcycle. The bag cannot be mounted without it, so add it to your cart as well.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Is the flange included in the price?

No. The package includes the bag with its sliding magnetic plate and the rain cover. The flange that screws onto the fuel cap ring is a separate item, specific to your motorcycle’s model and year, and must be ordered separately. It is the part required to mount the bag: check which one you need before completing your order.

Which flange do I need for my motorcycle?

Eight codes cover the twelve verified models. In summary: 081 for the 2021 BMW R 1250 GS Adventure; 131 for the R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Adventure; 281 for the Honda CB400X, NX400, and NX500 with a 7-hole cap; 291 for the CB500X and the NX400 and NX500 with a 5-hole cap; 321 for the CRF 1100L Africa Twin and XL750 Transalp; 391 for the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE; 601 for the CFMOTO 800 MT; 633 for the Kove 625X. The complete list, including the years, is in the dedicated tab.

Does it work on plastic tanks?

Yes, without any difference. The magnets never touch the tank: they work between the bag and the flange bolted onto the fuel cap ring. Whether the tank is made of sheet metal, plastic, or aluminum makes no difference, which is why this bag is designed specifically for modern adventure bikes.

I have a KTM: can I install it?

Not today. The manufacturer's product name mentions some KTM models, but the technical documentation does not list a dedicated flange for this bag for any KTM model. We'd rather tell you now than later. KTM flanges are available for other LOBOO tank bags: tell us your model and we'll point you to the right alternative.

How can I tell whether the Honda cap has 5 or 7 holes?

Keep the metal ring around the cap and count the screws. The NX400 and NX500 were produced with both versions, so the year alone isn't enough: you need to count them on your motorcycle. Seven holes require flange 281, while five holes require 291. The CB500X always uses the five-hole cap.

Does the bag obstruct steering?

This is what the 108 mm travel is for. After installation, operate the quick-release lever and slide the base forward or backward until it reaches the position that clears the handlebar, then close it again. Always test the steering at full lock on both sides with the bag loaded before setting off. LOBOO requires at least 70 mm between the handlebar stem and the cap.

How do you remove it and put it back on?

To mount it, place the bag over the flange: the magnetic base centers it automatically, and the four attachment points lock into place. To remove it, pull the bag backward until you feel resistance, then lift it. You can do it with one hand, wearing gloves, without undoing anything: at the gas station, it takes just a couple of seconds.

What’s in the package?

The BTB20BK bag with the sliding magnetic plate already mounted on the bottom, the rain cover, a Summit sticker, and a Vintage keychain. The tank-cap flange, which must be ordered according to the model, and charging cables are not included.

Is it waterproof?

LOBOO does not declare any IP rating for the bag, so we cannot call it waterproof. Rain protection is provided by the included cover, which has a water-repellent coating and sealed seams and should be fitted when the weather changes. The 1680D nylon withstands splashes, but the cover should be used during a storm.

Can I charge my phone while driving?

Yes: there’s a dedicated cable port on the side. Keep the power bank or power adapter inside the bag and thread the cable through the opening, without leaving the zipper partially open. Cables and power adapters are not included.

What is the MOLLE system on the back used for?

It is the webbing grid sewn onto the top: compatible MOLLE modular accessories attach to it, such as a phone holder, a GoPro pouch, or a bottle holder. It expands the bag without increasing its internal volume.

How much fits in 10 liters?

It’s the multi-day trip format for keeping what you want close at hand: a lightweight rain jacket, spare gloves, water bottle, compact camera, power bank, documents, and snacks. The base pocket keeps your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and keys separate. It won’t fit a helmet.

Do you sell off-road vehicles?

Retention does not rely solely on the magnet: the plate has four additional attachment points, one at each corner, and this dual-locking structure keeps the bag securely in place over bumps. Before tackling an unpaved road, check that the bag is fully seated on the flange and that the adjustment lever is closed.
